Chapter 846: Chapter 563: The Sourness of Master Jing (Part 1)

Just then, Jing Chen, who had just returned from outside, happened to see her and immediately ran over anxiously, completely devoid of the former demeanor of Master Jing.

"Linlin, don’t move." His face was filled with worry as he carefully set aside the items in his hand onto a nearby cabinet before quickly approaching Mu Lin, supporting her, "Why did you get up so early?"

Shouldn’t she be sleeping for another half hour before getting up, "It’s only seven o’clock now." The implication in his words was clear.

Mu Lin gave a wry smile, looking at him helplessly. Was he blaming her for not sleeping in a bit more?

"I couldn’t sleep anymore." Mu Lin looked at Jing Chen, however, her little mouth yawned genuinely but very lightly.

Uh, morning drowsiness, normal, it’ll pass soon; she always felt tired regardless of how long she slept, having gotten used to it recently.

Jing Chen watched her small gesture with amusement but didn’t expose her, merely helping her up carefully, "Be careful." Then he supported her towards the direction of the restroom.

After freshening up, her slightly bleary eyes had regained their sharpness, except that the flicker of light at the bottom of her pupils carried a bit of warmth; Mu Lin looked at Jing Chen, "Don’t you need to go check on them today?" Mu Lin was referring to Jing Youlan’s side.

"No need, it’s fine with Black Shark and the others there, my presence doesn’t make a difference." Right now, the most important thing was the person in front of him; nothing else was that important.

"Oh." Mu Lin nodded thoughtfully, but did not say more. After changing clothes, the two of them headed downstairs.

In the living room, Grandpa Jing was silently reading the newspaper, about military matters, daily life, and some small news between countries—of course, some stories published were baseless and boring, sometimes even infuriating the old man.

Just a bunch of nonsense really.

Even though he had retired, Grandpa Jing still paid close attention to some matters; or rather, it should be considered his leisure entertainment.

However, when he heard the noise from upstairs and saw Mu Lin being carefully supported by Jing Chen as she slowly descended, Grandpa Jing did not hesitate to toss the newspaper aside.

Compared to his granddaughter-in-law and great-grandchild, nothing was as important. The newspaper could always be read later.

"Girl, why did you get up so early today? Are you not feeling well?" Checking the time and seeing Mu Lin come down earlier than usual, Grandpa Jing immediately became worried.

After all, in the recent period, Mu Lin’s sleep schedule had been very consistent; she must definitely be unwell to be up so early today.

That was purely Grandpa Jing’s wild guess.

As they say, concern breeds chaos, which was normal.

"Grandpa, I’m fine." Mu Lin smiled and shook her head. She really just woke up half an hour earlier due to her biological clock. Why were both Grandpa and her husband so worried when she actually appeared quite spirited?

Mu Lin felt that Grandpa Jing and the rest had probably completely forgotten that she was a doctor; well, even though she was a novice when it came to pregnancy.

Hearing Mu Lin’s words, Grandpa Jing still scrutinized her from head to toe with an X-ray-like gaze, and seeing that Mu Lin indeed showed no signs of discomfort, he finally relaxed, "That’s good."

As long as she was not unwell, there were no issues.

Looking at Grandpa Jing’s reaction, Mu Lin’s smile carried a touch of resignation; as for Jing Chen... he was thoroughly ignored by Grandpa Jing unless he neglected to take care of Mu Lin. Generally, Grandpa Jing wouldn’t pay attention to him.

In short, he might as well have been invisible.

Ever since Grandpa Jing first saw Mu Lin, it had become crystal clear who held the highest status in the Jing family.

Perhaps Mu Lin herself hadn’t noticed that now she truly carried more of a mundane aura, just an ordinary woman.

Seeing Mu Lin come downstairs, Song Qi immediately turned and went to the kitchen to urge them on; they couldn’t let Mu Lin and the Little Young Masters go hungry.

Because of Mu Lin, Grandpa Jing had shifted the normal breakfast time from around six o’clock to about eight o’clock to coincide with Mu Lin’s downstairs eating schedule.

He could have eaten earlier on his own, but for Grandpa Jing now, having breakfast with Mu Lin and her unborn little grandchild was the happiest part of his day.

After the meal, although she couldn’t engage in intense exercises, Mu Lin still went out to the courtyard for a walk, to turn around, and to breathe in the fresh outside air.
