Chapter 801: Chapter 536: The Bandit Chief’s Wife (Second Update)_2

Finally, the truth unraveled, and a somewhat timid figure appeared before everyone’s eyes, taking a few of the men inside by surprise.

Why would they bring in Brother Xili after those two walked out without any issues? Ugly, with a large burn scar on his face and a certain odor about him—don’t they know there’s a pregnant woman here? Some scents are not to be inhaled.

The smell that filled Mu Lin’s nostrils made her frown slightly, and she took out a small bottle from her bag to sniff.

However, she had a pretty good idea of what those two were up to.

A smile curved her lips; it seemed indeed quite interesting, not bad at all.

"Hey, come on in, what’s with the dilly-dallying? Don’t you want that ten thousand yuan?" Gong Yu watched him with her arms crossed.

"I want it." Instantly, the man nodded so vigorously he looked like a bobblehead and hurriedly took two steps forward.

Ten thousand yuan was enough to last him a very, very long time.

He had never seen such a sum of money at once in his life, but "What do you want me to do?"

Wealthy people were pretty terrifying in this man’s eyes, but for the sake of money, he came all the same.

"Relax, we’re not going to eat you," Jing Youlan said slowly as she walked in from behind him, leaning casually on the bar near the entrance. "We invited you here to eat, drink, and play; if you follow our commands to our satisfaction, we might even increase your reward." After all, none of the people here were short on cash.

As she spoke, her gaze fixed steadily on the woman who still hadn’t managed to stand up after several minutes, with a smirking smile.

A sense of unease suddenly rose in Sun Yao’s heart.

What on earth did they want to do?

She subconsciously shrank her body.

"Sit." With a nonchalant gesture, Gong Yu placed a chair in front of Sun Yao, and Brother Xili obediently sat down, still looking timid and frightened.

Bending down, Gong Yu looked at Sun Yao with a cheery smile, "Let me set your task for today."

"Your sole duty here today is to... take good care of this ’sir’ before you. If you satisfy us all, you’ll be free to go." As for how to serve him, they would give instructions in due time.

"Impossible." With no hesitation, Sun Yao refused, looking at Gong Yu. "You actually expect me to serve a beggar—let me tell you, that’s definitely not happening."

Just the sight of his scarred face and his body’s odor made her want to vomit.

If it had been before, Sun Yao would probably have long since paid to have him beaten.

This man, what right did he have to approach her; it’s just a shame that now...

"It’s not up to you what’s impossible." With a cold snort, Jing Youlan returned to her seat, "I suppose your Madame must have told you, we’re not to be trifled with here; otherwise... you understand." She couldn’t be bothered to explain any further.

"I don’t understand." No matter what, even if it killed her, she would never serve such a man; even just drinking and chatting, he was utterly undeserving.

"You don’t understand, eh? Then let me enlighten you." Listening to her firm words, Gong Yu stood up with a smile brimming on her face, "Perhaps, you’re not afraid of death, but I’m certain you fear a fate worse than death." She leisurely moved a chair against the wall to sit down, "Sun Yao, others may not know the Gong Family’s status in China, but you, having been Gong Ning’s lackey for so many years, should be well aware."

"Everyone thinks my sister married up by joining the Jing family, but the person who ’married up’ could never be my sister." Even considering my sister’s own background and value.

"Do you know why I call Mu Lin ’sister’?" Gong Yu spoke, the smirk on his face growing more evident, "That’s because the ’powerful leg’ you once clung to... was nothing but a fake." Gong Ning, not a real daughter of the Gong Family but who had enjoyed the treatment of a young miss for over twenty years, thinking back now, it really was a loss.

And her sister, for those twenty years, was chased down by that scumbag; her uncle died at that man’s hand; if only she had known the truth earlier, Gong Yu reckoned she would have rushed in to deliver a blow herself.

It truly was a pity! But today... there was still an opportunity for retribution.

"Want to know her fate?" Gong Yu whispered as she moved closer to Sun Yao, looking into her disbelieving eyes, "She’s already, dead." It was just a shame that she didn’t get to exact her revenge properly.

Her eyes widening; Sun Yao slumped down completely; no wonder, no wonder she couldn’t find out any news about her, so it turned out...

"What do you want?" Was she just to be humiliated by them here today? She couldn’t accept that.

"I don’t want anything particular." Gong Yu laughed, "It’s just that, Gong Ning died too easily, many of my grievances were left unavenged; so I was thinking, perhaps today, I could vent the frustrations I had with that woman Gong Ning on you." In reality, she didn’t suffer much, but she had never liked her, hence why she disliked Sun Yao, who was her lackey back then, and not to mention, now coupled with the grievances involving Ya Yan.

Had it not been for her sister, she wouldn’t have noticed today that the woman with the heavy makeup, practically wearing a different face, was Sun Yao.

This was certainly a delightful turn of events!

"Of course, if you do as we say, then all our previous issues will be wiped clean; otherwise... not just in B City, I will make sure you can’t get by anywhere."

"You should know that any one of us here has that much power."
