Chapter 729: Chapter 485 Master’s Letter (First Update)_1

After paying their respects to Mu Jue, the two returned home while Qiaozi and Yinzi were sent by Jing Chen to go hunting.

Although they didn’t wish to do so, for Mu Lin’s sake, they bore it without complaint.

A virtuous wife and loving mother.

Mu Lin felt that Jing Chen had nearly completely transformed into a virtuous wife and loving mother.

He was capable in both the hall and kitchen, he could withstand the battlefield, um...what else? He could also confront rivals in love, preventing any inkling of a threat from developing.

Um....it seems not to rhyme well.

Receiving the small bowl of chicken soup brought before her, Mu Lin put it to her nose and sniffed. Ultimately, she put it in her mouth, "It’s delicious." Compared to before, there wasn’t a nauseating urge to vomit and chicken soup tasted really fresh.

Has his cooking improved again, she wondered.

Upon hearing Mu Lin’s words, Qiaz’s keen eyes are raised and glinting with pride.

It was it who caught the chicken, so it’s naturally delicious. Then, it lowered its head and continued to eat the delicious food in front of it.

"If Linlin finds it tasty, we can catch a few more to take home." The Black Forest was an untouched natural area, with little human intrusion. The variety of species here was more diverse than many other jungles Jing Chen had visited.

Thinking about this, his cooling gaze swept over Qiaozi, making it shudder unexpectedly.

What just happened, it wondered? The feeling of being watched.

Actually, the wild chickens in these mountains were different from the domesticated ones. They were natural and pollution-free, ideal for Mu Lin to nourish her health. Of course, the taste was also better.

"Sure," Mu Lin nodded, not refusing.

After dinner.

Since Mu Lin was pregnant and in her first month, it was the most critical period. Mu Lin was healthy, but as Jing Chen was about to become a father for the first time, naturally, he wouldn’t let Mu Lin do anything.

So apart from eating and sleeping, Mu Lin didn’t have to do anything and just sat there watching Jing Chen busy himself not far away.

With a small smile, Mu Lin suddenly stood up and walked towards Mu Jue’s room.

Ever since Mu Jue was gone, apart from the occasional cleaning, she rarely entered the room again. Every time she entered that room, Mu Lin always felt that Mu Jue was still alive as she could always sense the unique presence of Mu Jue, no matter how much time passed.

She felt that her Master was always by her side and never left.

With her finger tracing across the chair, Mu Lin found a place to sit down, her mouth slightly curving into a smile as her eyes carefully observed everything in the room.

Jing Chen finished tidying up and turned around but he didn’t see Mu Lin. He then turned towards the inner room to look for her.

Qiaozi and Yinzi who are still enjoying their meals looked at each other, then simultaneously glanced at Jing Chen’s disappearing figure, lowered their heads, and continued eating.

They had to admit that the food cooked by Jing Chen was incredibly delicious. Both of them were actually very satisfied with this fact.

"Linlin." Jing Chen stopped in front of Mu Jue’s room, and seeing her sitting still inside, he strode towards her direction, "Why are you sitting here?" Mu Lin sat still, as if lost in thought.

Mu Lin looked up at him, "I wanted to find something so I came here. But I started thinking about Master once I got here and unconsciously started to zone out." She seemed a bit distracted.

Just how good was Mu Jue to Mu Lin? It was actually very hard to describe in words.

Even though Mu Lin now knew the reason why Mu Jue treated her so kindly was because of her own mother—a woman she had never seen before—but she didn’t overthink it. On the contrary.

Mu Lin suddenly felt a tinge of curiosity towards her own mother, especially after she became pregnant. This curiosity grew deeper.

She wanted to meet her, simply to meet her. She wanted to see what her mother looked like. Even if her mother was the so-called madwoman people spoke of.

If possible, she wanted to cure her.

Such thoughts became even more intense since she returned home.

"What are you looking for?" Jing Chen stood in front of Mu Lin, his hand gently pushed back the stray hairs on her forehead.

What was she looking for? Mu Lin paused for a moment, then said, "The household registration book." She thought it should be in Master’s room.

If she had one; Chen once said everybody had one.

Jing Chen nodded, "Do you know where it is? I will find it." She was pregnant and shouldn’t engage in strenuous activities.
