Chapter 718: Chapter 475 What is called mother (First update)_1

"Regardless of whether it’s a task or anything else, I hope you put it aside for now, young lady." Although they had no idea what Mu Lin was constantly doing, both Mei Qingyuan and Zhou Jiansheng’s instincts were telling them that it must be something unsafe.

After all, the young lady’s reputation is the biggest factor contributing to the potential danger.

The two old gentlemen suspect that some of Mu Lin’s reputation might be the deliberate work of those with ulterior motives.

They have to admit that those cunning minds never age; the two old men finally understood.

"I understand." Mu Lin nodded, "Mr. Mei, Mr. Zhou, don’t worry, I won’t put myself in danger." Whether it’s for Jing Chen or for the baby now growing inside her, she would never let herself encounter any danger; she would protect herself.

Mu Lin wasn’t sure what kind of emotions were bubbling up within her, but it seemed like she was gradually understanding what it meant to be a mother.

Hearing Mu Lin’s assurances, the two old men looked at each other, believing in her judgement. Among all the people of her age, they had not met anyone more capable and less worrisome than Mu Lin, though they still worried at times.

However, they too had young ones at home of the same age as Mu Lin. If those boys were half as capable and sharp as her, they wouldn’t need to worry about them.

In the end, even though they had already confirmed it, a worried Zhou Jiansheng still took Mu Lin to the Military Hospital for a few major checkups.

Looking at the ultrasound scans and the small shadows on them, a strange softness welled up in Mu Lin’s eyes. The baby was so small.

This was the first time Mu Lin had seen a Western doctor.

According to Zhou Jiansheng, even though Mu Lin’s medical skills were exceptional and his were great, the Western medical approach was more concrete when it came to pregnancy. They could give clearer and more comprehensive check-ups. Their best approach now was to integrate Chinese and Western medicine for a thorough examination.

Through Chinese pulse diagnosis, they could only hear the baby’s heartbeat, while Western medicine was able to give them a glimpse of what the baby looks like, even though it was just a vague little shadow for now.

With a light curve at the corner of her mouth, it wasn’t her usual faint smile. Almost everyone passing by Mu Lin could feel her good mood; her smile was contagious.

After visiting the hospital, Mu Lin was personally escorted home by Mei Qingyuan and Zhou Jiansheng, but they left once they made it to the front door of Jing’s house.

They thought that this news would be thrilling for the old gentleman Jing. The two old men decided not to disturb them to avoid unnecessary trouble.

"Little Lin." Seeing Mu Lin return, Song Qi walked up to her, taking a few things from her hand. These were medicines to maintain her pregnancy given by Mei Qingyuan and Zhou Jiansheng when she was leaving the hospital.

Indeed, as the future god grandfathers, both of them were scrambling for the role.

How wonderful. Her child would become the center of everyone’s expectations when they arrived.

"Uncle Song." Getting off the car and seeing Song Qi, Mu Lin gave him a smile. Song Qi felt that Mu Lin seemed a bit different today.

Entering the living room, only the elderly Jing was there. On hearing her, he looked up to see Mu Lin, closed the newspaper he was holding, and set it aside, smiling kindly, "Linlin’s back."

Mu Lin nodded and then instinctively asked, "Is Chen back?" She wondered if she should tell him the news now.

Mu Lin supposed that Jing Chen should be the first to know.

"Not yet," answered the elderly Jing, "it’s only a little past two in the afternoon now. Xiaochen should be home by five and a half or six o’clock." The old gentleman Jing chuckled. Although puzzled, he didn’t say much. There was a hint of tease in his smile.

Looking at those two young people who seemed to be inseparable, he was truly comforted.

Hearing old Mr. Jing’s words, Mu Lin nodded and then sat down to chat with him for a while. After realizing that she was getting sleepy, he told her to go upstairs and rest.

After Mu Lin left, old Mr. Jing called in Song Qi. "Xiaosong, have you noticed anything different about Linlin today?" He remembered that she had never seemed sleepy at noon before.
