Chapter 670: Chapter 441: Treating the Symptoms, It’s Time for Medicine (First Update) _2

Thankfully, these people are not aware of Mu Lin’s identity.

While others have their opinions about Mu Lin’s actions, Mi Zheng is quite pleased. After all, he had been seeking proof that Mu Lin and he are of the same kind.

These people deserve to die.

Mu Lin didn’t deliberately leave people to die; she merely prioritized saving those she wanted to save in a crisis.

The game continued, as the darkness fell once again, Mu Lin sprang into action.

This time, she faced two adversaries at once. The opponents seemed to become increasingly skilled as the game progressed. In the darkness, everyone could only hear the sounds of the fight but saw nothing.

With a thud, a figure fell. Mu Lin swiftly returned to her original position as the lights came on. All heaved a sigh of relief at the announcement.

Another victory.

Five of the assassins were dead, leaving only five remaining. It appeared like their police were quite formidable. A spark of hope lit within everyone’s hearts.

If all the assassins were killed, would they finally have the chance to escape?

If they ever get out, they vowed never to attend such gatherings again. Now, many were questioning whether this sinister event was indeed orchestrated by that mysterious person.

They stopped speculating, yearning only for a safe escape.

However, could things truly be so simple?

Of course not.

The icy voice from the broadcast echoed into their ears once more, this time, filled with a sinister laugh. "The assassins are enraged. As the darkness falls again, everyone is to participate in the game." It meant everyone was a target.

This was the assassins daring the police.

One could fend off two assailants, but how about dealing with five at the same time? They wondered how she could possibly rescue all these people.

The room was about to be bathed in a pool of crimson.

The broadcast shook the entire hall.

Everyone was to participate.

"What should we do?" Everyone was afraid they’d become one of the five, not considering that the adversary never limited their targets to just five.

"There’s only one police officer. No matter how formidable, she can’t possibly take on five assassins at once." What were they to do? A frantic woman seemed on the verge of tears.

Teeming with restlessness, Mi Zheng reveled in the ensuing chaos.

Quan Luo tightly gripped Gong Yu’s hand. "What should we do?" Even she, who feared neither heaven nor earth, dreaded death. She still had plenty of life left to live, so how could she leave so soon?

Gong Yu gently patted her hand, attempting to soothe her fear. To claim that she was not afraid was a lie, but what good would fear do? What was destined to happen, would happen. She felt an inexplicable sense of calm as she glanced at the face not far from her.

Gong Yu had doubts ever since the officer first saved her. She seemed to detect a comforting fragrance of herbal medicine which she also smelled when Mu Lin approached her and Luoluo. She was happy because she believed it was Mu Lin who saved her.

Mu Lin turned to look at the man who stood with a smile, treating the place as if it were his personal slaughterhouse.

Mu Lin wondered if it was one of the ten people he would personally deal with and if she could save the people inside. If she couldn’t, she was sure she could at least save one or two.

But she believed, he wouldn’t make a move.

If it came down to a one-against-five confrontation using solely brute force, she wouldn’t be able to save everyone. However, she knew her identity.

She was the Poison Doctor, poison was her specialty.

As a Poison Doctor, using poison would be her leading strategy. Even if she couldn’t use poison, she still had plenty of other valuable resources at her disposal.

Diagnose and prescribe accordingly.

When Mi Zheng saw the smile on Mu Lin’s lips, he reciprocated involuntarily.

Their "affectionate" exchange was seen as a harmonious interaction by the crowd.

In truth, Mi Zheng never mentioned to anyone the genuine laughter he saw in Mu Lin’s eyes when they first met. It was different from his usual sophisticated smile. This smile was authentic, the sight he longed to see the most.

Mi Zheng didn’t realize that the person always by his side could decipher his thoughts; he just chose not to say anything.

Since Mi Zheng saved his life when he was a child, nothing would be more important to him.

Mu Lin’s smile faded as she caught sight of the cold glimpse in his eyes. She turned her gaze to the crowd.

Family.

What did he mean?

Mi Zheng’s lips moved subtly, but Mu Lin noticed. He said these two words, right?

Was he implying that her master’s family was also in the crowd?

She didn’t understand why he would disclose that to her. Was he trying to disrupt her tranquility or hint at something else? She couldn’t figure it out.

However, she was certain of one thing. If she won this game, she would get the answers she sought. If not, she would show no mercy.

A chilling look flashed across her eyes.

As the fear among the crowd began to intensify, darkness descended once again. Just as the terrified screams filled the air, the lights in the direction of the Main Gate suddenly turned on.
