Chapter 647: Chapter 428 Gong Ning VS Gong Yu (Eight more updates) _2
It seemed like she didn’t notice the two other individuals in the living room. The moment she entered, she headed straight for the upstairs.
"Gong Yu." The sudden voice made her pause mid-step on the staircase. She turned back, giving her a casual glance, "What is it?" Her expression suggested: I’d prefer if you only talked when necessary and refrain from disturbing me otherwise.
Seeing Gong Yu like this, Gong Ning chuckled lightly. Her current smile didn’t have the high-handedness of just now but was, instead, exceptionally warm, "As your elder sister, don’t I have the right to call out to my younger sister?"
Listening to these words, Gong Yu frowned, "I never said such a thing." She let out a cold snort, "However, I think that if you really have so much free time, you should go back home and spend more time with our little aunt, I believe she’d be thrilled to see you." She truly would.
After saying that, Gong Yu couldn’t resist shouting, "Uncle Gong, have someone send my breakfast up to my room. The air down here is somewhat too dirty; I won’t be able to swallow my food." While she wasn’t interested in wrestling with her for anything the Gong Family had, this didn’t mean that she didn’t hate her.
She had disliked her since childhood, from the bottom of her heart.
That’s just how things were.
"Yes, Second Miss." The butler of the Gong Family came out of a room, respectfully answered before disappearing again. Presumably, he went back to have Gong Yu’s breakfast prepared.
Gong Ning gritted her teeth as she watched Gong Yu’s receding figure.
"Ningning?" Sun Yao looked at Gong Ning with a hint of worry.
Gong Ning let out a cold snort, "I’m fine." This Gong Yu, she always liked using the same method to attack her, well aware that her biological mother disliked her, didn’t even acknowledge her as her daughter, and treated Gong Yu, who wasn’t her biological daughter, even better. Every day, her mother acted madly to the point where she didn’t even recognize her father anymore.
If possible, she really didn’t want such a mother. As long as she had a father who loved her dearly, it was more than enough.
However.
She clenched her fists slightly, before quickly releasing her grip.
She believed that her father wouldn’t let her endure too much for too long.
Sun Yao kept quiet, choosing not to comfort Gong Ning when she saw the uncertainty in Gong Ning’s eyes. She knew perfectly well that if she spoke at this moment, she would become the outlet for Gong Ning’s rage.
She didn’t like that.
Even if it was facing Gong Ning, Sun Yao still didn’t like it; it was a shame, she must put up with this feeling of being second to all but one for the rest of her life.
The Gong family was too deeply involved and were not something the Sun Family could handle; she had struggled hard to get to where she was now, and she would not let it all disappear easily.
A faint smile appeared at the corner of her mouth, yet there was no warmth at all in the depths of her eyes.
Gong Yu returned to her room and threw herself on the big bed. Her arms spread wide in the shape of a big character.
If it weren’t for her studies, if her parents hadn’t strictly demanded it, she really did not want to live under the same roof as that woman. Having to face that hypocritical face every day, she didn’t even feel like eating.
She took a breath, and her gaze suddenly fell upon the side profile glistening with a halo under the sunlight. Gong Yu sat up, her eyes unconsciously drawn to the photograph. As she looked at it, her feelings of frustration gradually disappeared, and an unconscious smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.
It seemed to have become a habit of hers. Every time she felt upset, but as soon as she saw this photo, she found that her mood would quickly improve; even if it didn’t get significantly better immediately, it was much more relaxed.
She really wanted to see her again; however, after that time, she went back to that place several times but never saw her again.
Maybe she had just been passing by that place that time, that would explain why she hadn’t been able to find her since.
If she had known, even if bravely, she would have asked her name that day.
"Knock knock knock..." At that moment, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in." Gong Yu looked at the door.
The figure at the door pushed it open, "Miss, breakfast."
"Uncle Gong." Gong Yu smiled at the butler.
The butler’s name was Gong He, he was sent by the old master of the Gong Family just to take care of the needs and meals of the two young ladies here. After all, apart from a few servants in such a large house, they were the only ones living there.
Gong He looked at Gong Yu, his smile becoming kinder, "How did you recover so quickly this time? I just boiled a dozen eggs for you especially." His words were filled with gentle mockery, a playful smile on his lips.
The second lady of their family was peculiar. Whenever she was annoyed or angry, she liked to eat eggs. However, she only ate the yolk and not the egg white, often choking herself in the process.
Really, she wouldn’t have any sympathy for herself. He still cared for her, she always liked tormenting herself but wouldn’t listen to him.
"Uncle Gong, don’t make fun of me." Gong Yu bashfully looked at Gong He who had put the breakfast on the table in front of her and said, "Okay, hurry up and have your breakfast."
"I knew Uncle Gong loved me the most." Gong Yu grinned and was obedient. Ever since she was a child, Gong He had always been caring towards her, and every time Gong Ning had her so upset that she wanted to vomit blood, it had always been Gong He staying by her side.
Compared to Gong Ning, his favorite was the second lady, Gong Yu.
Not because of anything else, but because the second lady in front of him had a character most similar to his poor, cherished young lady. Now...
Gong He’s cherished young lady was Gong Ning’s mother.
Whenever he thought of her, Gong He couldn’t help but feel his heart ache.
