Chapter 636: Chapter 421: Forgetting Father after Getting a Wife (First update)_1

Military Area unit.

This is the highest office of the Naval Marine Corps in C Province, which is also the office of Jing Zhengyang.

A knock at the door sounded, "Come in," said Jing Zhengyang without even lifting his head.

The door was opened, and tiny shards of sunlight spilled in. In his military boots, he stepped on the ground, making a steady and powerful "da da da" sound as he walked.

He reflexively lifted his head. The moment Jing Zhengyang saw this figure striding towards him step by step, a slight smile crept onto his usually stern face.

His figure was straight, his steps were steady, his face handsome yet severe, with a chill that made him look like an ice sculpture.

However, he was still very handsome.

The movement of his fine hair reflected his carefree demeanor. His lips were slightly pursed, his eyes were cold but still unbelievably serious. Eventually, he came to a stop in front of Jing Zhengyang.

"You’ve arrived," said Jing Zhengyang in a calm and steady voice.

The other party nodded, their face still devoid of any expression.

Jing Zhengyang, with a wide smile, exclaimed, "My son, can you not always keep a cold face in front of your father?" Making himself look even more serious than his father, Jing Zhengyang couldn’t muster any authority in front of his son.

"I’m used to it," responded Jing Chen lightly, then added, "Reporting to the commander, Ying Sun from B City Military Area’s special combat team is here at your service, sir." He stood, ramrod straight and true.

Jing Zhengyang frowned but eventually sighed and nodded, saying simply, "Very well."

About the feeling of his son calling him a commander with cold indifference, Jing Zhengyang conceded that it wasn’t something any ordinary person could experience.

"Can I call you now?" For some reason, Jing Zhengyang could maintain his seriousness in front of everyone else, but couldn’t bring himself to do so when faced with his own wife and son. The handsome face before him was even more serious than his, devoid of any childlike features.

Such behavior was one of the reasons why Jing Zhengyang couldn’t exercise any authority in front of his father.

He sighed inexplicably.

When it came to family ranking, he was indeed the lowest.

"Father." His son’s deep, mellow voice, mixed with his unique coldness echoed in the room. Jing Zhengyang stood up and moved towards the sofa, asking casually as he walked, "What will you drink?"

"No need," Jing Chen replied languidly, following his father to the sofa.

He sat down casually.

"Where’s mom?" Jing Chen asked nonchalantly.

Jing Zhengyang sighed, "She’s already left." He paused for a moment, a smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "Son, I think you should be asking about your wife." He remembered that his son rarely asked about anything, he wondered why he suddenly seemed to care today.

Definitely suspicious.

Jing Chen raised the corner of his mouth slightly, "Well, that was my next question." He admitted bluntly without hesitation; Master Jing never knew what it meant to feel embarrassed.

"I never thought you would be conquered by a woman one day," Jing Zhengyang remarked with a touch of sentimentality in his voice. He had once worried that his son wouldn’t find any woman attractive.

"I’m sure that’s what you’ve been hoping for," Jing Chen replied leisurely, "With a daughter-in-law around, my mom’s attention would be all yours again, no one would compete with you for her affection." He emphasised that he had never actively competed for her attention.

"You cheeky kid," Jing Zhengyang scolded with amused exasperation. Despite being called out, Jing Zhengyang couldn’t help but feel a touch of schadenfreude, "I believe you will understand my feelings soon." He wondered if his son would still maintain his composure then.

Jing Chen furrowed his brows, "What do you mean?" He took a moment to understand his father’s words.

"Your mother, now that she has a daughter-in-law, has forgotten about her husband." He conveyed his grievances, "So, I believe you will soon be able to understand my situation and feelings."

Indeed, they were a pair of birds of a feather.

It was only a pity that the ever-confident Master Jing was indifferent to these trifles; the issue of competing for affection was a piece of cake to him.

"So, why have you called us here? What are your orders?" Jing Chen asked in an incredibly direct manner.

"I was giving you an opportunity to get close to your wife, and you dare to complain." This kid was as tough to handle as ever.

However, Jing Chen merely shrugged, "My mom isn’t as easy to deceive." No one could win her over with mere sweet words.

Jing Zhengyang was dumbfounded.

Master Jing VS Jing Zhengyang, the NNth round, Master Jing wins.

Master Jing claimed that he felt no joy in winning because it had been too easy.

Jing Zhengyang was taken aback.

After a pause, seriousness returned to Jing Zhengyang’s face.
