Chapter 634: Chapter 420: Awakening (Third Update)_1
"Let’s go downstairs and discuss it further." Gu Muqing spoke indifferently, her current concern was primarily for Mu Lin.
Tang Qishan nodded, Tang Jun walked down the stairs, glancing back every few steps, his face a mixture of remorse and worry.
Mu Lin, are you alright?
Living room downstairs.
Mu Lin was slightly leaning against the couch, Gu Muqing took a glass of water from the butler’s hand and offered it to Mu Lin, "Linlin, take a sip of water and rest a bit."
He took the glass.
Mu Lin straightened up, sat down on pulled a blanket over himself, took a small porcelain bottle out of his camera bag, poured it out, picked a dark green pill from inside, put it in his mouth, and then took a sip of water and swallowed it down.
He closed his eyes slightly, and when he opened them again, they seemed much clearer.
This was something that Mu Lin had specifically developed for himself.
"I’m alright now." Mu Lin smiled at Gu Muqing who was looking at him worriedly. Seeing Mu Lin now seemed less troubled, Gu Muqing relaxed a bit. She held Mu Lin’s hand, firmly rejecting all the negative rumors she heard about him.
From now on, if she ever heard someone slandering her chosen daughter-in-law, they should not blame her for being uncourteous.
In Gu Muqing’s eyes, Mu Lin could never be the person those rumors described.
Gu Muqing didn’t know, but the reason Mu Lin was so resolute today, was because of her.
He let out a slow breath and looked at Tang Qishan and Tang Jun. "If you have any questions, just ask. Don’t suppress it." Mu Lin said looking at Tang Jun’s expression, with no words to say.
Before Tang Qishan could say anything, Tang Jun cut in. "Mu Lin, is my mom...is she okay now?" He said, looking at Mu Lin expectantly, hands tightly clenched together. He was focused intently on Mu Lin—it wasn’t so much that he doubted or didn’t believe; he just didn’t dare to make his own assumptions.
Before getting a definitive answer.
Mu Lin nodded, "She’s fine now. If nothing unexpected happens, she’ll wake up by tonight." He paused before adding, "At the latest, tomorrow." If Mu Lin hadn’t worked so hard, then Shen Wei, if nothing unexpected happened, would have been in a coma for a week.
Merging took time, after all.
"Really!" said Tang Jun, standing up excitedly, "That’s wonderful." The excitement and surprise on Tang Qishan’s face was hard to hide. He looked at Mu Lin, his mouth moved as if to say words, but he couldn’t voice his thoughts.
Fists clenched and words unsaid.
Mu Lin saw their reactions. She had seen family members’ reactions like this before, but for the first time, someone made her crack a satisfied smile.
She actually never considered that Tang Qishan would be such a devoted and unremitting man. Didn’t they say that the richer and more powerful a man is, the more fickle he tends to be? However, apart from Jing Youlan, she had not found such men in her circles (except unrelated people).
Jing Youlan: ...Why does trouble always find its way to me?
Everyone: Because that’s the truth.
Master Jing choked.
...
Guessing that they might not have any other questions for a while, Mu Lin decided to take the lead and explain.
Looking at Tang Qishan, "Uncle Tang, you were curious before about why I would use poisonous medicine on your wife." Mu Lin typically wouldn’t offer explanations, but today, she didn’t mind explaining.
Tang Qishan nodded; it wasn’t so much curiosity, but rather a moment of shock. This kind of healing method, if used by others, would likely only result in death.
The Poison Doctor Mu Lin, her reputation was indeed well earned.
"The poison in Mrs. Tang’s body is different from any poison I’ve encountered before. It can’t be neutralized or expelled." There was no way to prepare an antidote, and bloodletting was absolutely impossible, so then the only method Mu Lin thought of was...if it couldn’t be neutralized, then it might as well be merged—it wasn’t a bad solution.
Everyone looked at Mu Lin without speaking, just waiting for her to continue.
"My method is quite simple; I just mixed the poison that already exists in Mrs. Tang’s blood with the poison I prepared, creating a new antibody." Mu Lin once tried to experiment with several types of poison long ago, and the result led her to a new discovery—that is, the merging of poisons.
"In simple terms, even though the poison couldn’t be neutralized, it has been transformed into a new type of toxin." Mu Lin looked at them calmly, "This toxin won’t impact anything else, let alone Mrs. Tang’s life, but there’s one thing you must pay close attention to." And they must strictly heed it.
