Chapter 624: Chapter 414: Jing Ye leads the team (second update) _1

"But she just called Mu Lin ’Poison Doctor’!" A thought that sends shivers down their spines.

"It couldn’t possibly be the same person, could it?" Xiongzi looks at Abu, who shakes his head, "I don’t know. I seem to have heard that the Poison Doctor has surfaced and that her next target is our C Province." All of this sounds plausible; however, "It couldn’t possibly be Mu Lin, could it? She’s a Military Doctor, isn’t she?" A Military Doctor is righteous, a Poison Doctor is evil, they couldn’t possibly be the same person.

A subconscious denial.

Abu has completely forgotten the real name of the Poison Doctor, he recalls having heard it not too long ago.

"Really?" Xiongzi displays disbelief.

Abu shoots him a glance, "Even though I’m just a cop, I’m also a wealthy second-generation kid, ok!" He felt as though he was being underestimated. Despite not fitting into the upper echelons of society, he indeed belonged to that stature!

His statement elicits laughter from the two.

Abu, indeed, was the least likely rich kid. He displayed none of the typical traits of their peers—exceedingly straightforward in character and clearly likes and dislikes. Yet, even knowing that his life circumstances were very different, one could not help but treat him like a regular friend.

However, as Fen Xiao listened to their conversation, she responded with a chilling laugh.

A Military Doctor, huh? That explains it.

Ha...ha...ha... Leader, this time, even if I wanted to stop you, I won’t be able to.

Caught as she was and severely injured, unable to escape, it seemed she was resigned to her fate.

Fen Xiao was never afraid of death. What she feared the most was being banished by the Leader. Now, it seemed that was inevitable.

Killed without making a sound, by borrowing a knife.

From Fen Xiao’s perspective, Mu Lin is still the most dangerous individual, just as her intuition had warned. This woman would inevitably bring harm to their Leader – she was poisonous than a venomous snake, requiring a high level of vigilance to prevent the loss of everything.

Twenty minutes later, Xiu Weiqi finally arrived with his men. By then, Fen Xiao’s wounds had been cleaned and the powder washed away. However, the wound that was being corroded was of no use to clean up, as it was visibly deteriorating at an observable pace. Twenty minutes was enough to further exacerbate the initially inflicted wound.

Deputy Bureau relayed everything Mu Lin had said to Xiu Weiqi unchanged. Xiu Weiqi decided to transfer her to a hospital under their jurisdiction. But the resulting diagnosis was the same.

This hand was doomed to be lost; but this was insignificant now.

...

The next morning, Mu Lin got up, opened the door and prepared to go for a morning run.

Since leaving the Military Camp, she seemed to have slacked off on her training routine, even the simplest exercises. So, these past few days at the camp, Mu Lin woke up relatively early, then ran a few kilometers around the Training Ground nearby—an elegant figure who glistened with sweat, attracting much admiration. Her silhouette seemed to command the curious gaze of the onlookers.

This morning, however, when Mu Lin opened her door, a formally dressed soldier was already standing there who inexplicably saluted her.

"What is it?" asked Mu Lin, this early in the morning.

Looking at Mu Lin, the soldier quickly handed an envelope over saying, "This arrived yesterday evening."

It was too late to deliver it during the shift change last night, and it was inconvenient for him to come over. In recent days, Mu Lin was in the habit of going for a morning run. Hence, he thought it was the best time to deliver it.

"Thank you." Mu Lin accepted the envelope. The man nodded and left.

Retreating, closing the door, and turning around.

Mu Lin casually found a place to sit, lingered her fingers around the envelope, raised it to her eyes, narrowed her eyes to examine it, and then opened the envelope. According to the feel it gave her, she estimated the content inside.

If she feels the content, she can guess what it is.

"As expected." When she unfolded the blood-red invitation card, Mu Lin smirked profoundly.

It seemed this Mr. Bi’an had a deep affection for the color red – deeper than hers.

December 7, at the Hongda hotel on the sixth floor, we welcome you. ——Bi’an
