Mated at First Sight -
Chapter 602 - 402
Chapter 602: 402
The contempt in those words was clearly aimed at Mu Lin. Mu Lin didn’t respond, neither denying nor admitting, simply maintaining a demeanor of indifference to their bullying, which frustrated the onlooking members of Squad 3 to no end.
Why did they feel that Mu Lin today was completely different from the Mu Lin they knew?
Apart from Lin Shan, perhaps only Zhong Yi was composed.
They had seen Mu Lin’s skills and ability for themselves. Compared to her, these two women were nothing.
Lin Shan would never forget what he had witnessed. Ye Qing’s end, executed swiftly and cleanly, made him suspect that Mu Lin’s hands were crimson with blood.
The seemingly indifferent young woman standing before them was truly a ruthless character, especially when someone provoked her. Her forbidden threshold was crossed when her comrades were threatened. Now, they might have discovered another one.
She quickly retracted her gun, spread her hands, and passed it to Qu Lili.
A bit surprised, Qu Lili soon understood, and proudly accepted the weapon. "I’ll go first." Although she wasn’t great with the sniper rifle, handguns were a piece of cake.
Mu Lin shrugs; she didn’t care.
Those who were eager to watch the spectacle consciously moved to either side of the targets. They had high expectations regarding Mu Lin’s skills. Even if none, including Zhong Yi, matched her, they had not yet seen her handle a gun.
She had only undergone three months of training in the new scout camp. Perhaps she could beat Qu Lili, but it was questionable whether she could win against Zhang Qing.
Cocking the gun, raising and aiming it, Qu Lili’s movements were fluid and impressive. She glanced at Mu Lin in the distance before firing five rounds into the bullseye, one after the other.
Mu Lin pursed her lips; Qu Lili’s marksmanship was indeed impressive. Given her slow firing speed, however, she still had a lot to improve upon.
If she had to re-aim after each shot during a confrontation with an enemy, the enemy would probably not wait for her to ready herself. By the time she was ready, it might be too late.
Mu Lin’s sardonic remark was clear.
"Your turn." Paying no attention to her poor performance, Qu Lili walked up to Mu Lin and casually tossed her the gun.
There was a sudden gunshot, and a bullet whizzed past again. Mu Lin tilted slightly to the side and caught the gun, her icy eyes staring at Qu Lili indifferently.
The way Mu Lin was looking at her gave Qu Lili goosebumps. She instinctively puffed out her chest and said, "Why are you looking at me like that? I simply forgot there was a bullet left in the chamber. Besides, you weren’t hurt." She did it deliberately, to see how Mu Lin would react, completely unaware of Jing Tian’s changing expression and the storm brewing in his eyes.
With the corners of her mouth curling up slowly, Mu Lin didn’t say a word and just started loading her gun.
Mu Lin’s tolerance disappointed the others. How could she endure such humiliation?
Lin Shan watched Mu Lin intently. He was waiting...waiting for her to... retaliate.
With a click, the bullet was ready, to be chambered next, and then the gun was raised.
"What are you doing?" Qu Lili stiffened in shock at the sight of the weapon pointed at her.
"Don’t look at me that way. Otherwise, I might accidentally slip, and I can’t guarantee you won’t get hurt." Mu Lin’s lips curled into a pleasant smile, but somehow, it sent a chill down everyone’s spine.
Zhang Qing instinctively moved forward to stop Mu Lin from further intimidation.
But in the next moment! A gunshot reverberated. Everyone jolted in shock. Qu Lili stood frozen, unable to believe that Mu Lin would dare shoot at her.
Not just Qu Lili, everyone was dumbfounded by Mu Lin’s audacity. Even Jing Tian was taken aback for a moment but soon, a rare smile formed on his lips.
His sister-in-law didn’t disappoint him. She was just like the legendary Poison Doctor; she was unfettered and did as she pleased.
The bullet cut through the freezing wind, whizzed past Qu Lili’s ear and hit the target without leaving any mark on Qu Lili, causing her to be confused and at a loss for words.
Directly through the heart.
Before anyone could regain their senses, a series of gunshots echoed again, giving no one a chance to recover.
The five bullets whizzed past Qu Lili in tandem and sped towards their destination.
She shot without any hesitation, and in everyone else’s eyes, she was disarmingly casual in firing her shots, paying no attention to the distant target.
Sensing the uneasy silence and hearing swallowing sounds that grew in the wake of her shooting technique...
Then silence. All was still. Even breathing was cautiously controlled. Qu Lili abruptly fell onto the ground, startling everyone.
Suddenly, it seemed like something significant had happened.
"Lily, are you okay?" Zhang Qing quickly rushed over to Qu Lili and angrily glared at Mu Lin. "You went too far. You should never point a gun at your comrades." Only now did he remember the word ’comrades.’
"Lily only accidentally left a bullet in the chamber, but you shot at her!" With one sentence, he heaped all blame on Mu Lin.
In the military, pointing a gun at a comrade was absolutely untenable.
Everyone looked at Mu Lin with complex expressions, some blaming her.
However, Mu Lin merely smiled and said lazily, "Who’s hurt, though?"
