Mated at First Sight
Chapter 588 - 394

Chapter 588: 394

Leaving the Jiang family’s residence, she had intended to go straight back to the hotel, but while passing by a river, she unexpectedly wanted to take a stroll.

Having stayed in the city for too long, she suddenly yearned to wander in the Black Forest again.

"Stop the car." Her cold voice rang in the driver’s ear, causing him to pull over instinctively.

Mu Lin looked at him, "You can go back, I want to walk alone and clear my mind, please thank Mr. Jiang for me."

"Alright, Dr. Mu," the driver nodded and left after Mu Lin got out of the car.

This young lady, almost the same age as their young lady, was much easier to get along with; he heard the butler call her Dr. Mu and so he followed suit.

Being a doctor is a career with much more prospects compared to being a driver.

The driver’s thoughts were filled with admiration and envy, envying that Mu Lin was given such a warm reception by their family head.

At this moment, it was morning, roughly around ten o’clock. The weather was sunny, yet it carried an icy cold wind. Compared with B City and Ming City, C Province felt a bit warmer.

There weren’t many people by the river, but there were still quite a few chatting on the riverside benches, walking their dogs, fishing, and living their leisurely lives.

The corners of her mouth lifted slightly. A gentle breeze brushed past her ear, Mu Lin tucked her loose strands of hair behind her ear and stood silently, deep thoughts hidden within her eyes, unknown to the outsiders.

Her black hair was casually spread, a faint smile on her lips, her conduct casual yet withdrawn. Her entire being exuding a sense of indolence, yet her brows carried a trace of coldness. To the eyes of others, she was a person with complex emotions, yet it was this complexity that attracted many others to her.

The click of a shutter pulled the contemplating Mu Lin back to reality. She turned around and stared fixedly at the girl behind her, who was taking pictures unknowingly. Her pitch-black eyes were like an abyssal whirlpool, seemingly able to suck people in, making the girl increasingly nervous.

"Sorry." The female student immediately bowed her head to apologize, then raised her head to look at Mu Lin. The admiration in her eyes was undisguised. "I’m a Photography Major. You were so beautiful just now, I couldn’t help but... take a picture." The scene just now was the most beautiful profile she had ever seen; at that moment, she seemed to integrate flawlessly with the scenery along the river.

The female student was somewhat nervous, afraid that Mu Lin would ask her to delete the photo. But she didn’t want to.

Because the photo she had just taken was so beautiful, she would definitely cry if she were to delete it. It would haunt her for the rest of her life.

The moment when Mu Lin turned around, the expression in the girl’s eyes was fully exposed, revealing her clear admiration.

Indeed, it was really beautiful, it was somewhat indescribable.

However, Mu Lin only glanced at her lightly before turning around and walking upstream along the river. The young girl immediately sighed in relief, feeling lucky.

"Gong Yu, what are you daydreaming about there?" Just then, came the voice of her female friend. Gong Yu shook her head to clear her thoughts and looked at the out-of-breath girl about to run up to her. She helplessly watched her, "Xiaoluo, run slower, don’t... fall." These words hadn’t fully left her mouth, when suddenly, with a "thud," the girl who was just about to approach tripped and landed right before her.

Gong Yu hurriedly ran over to help her get up, "Are you okay?" She checked her over from top to bottom, helping to clean the grass off her body. Her voice conveyed resignation and exasperation, "Thank goodness this is just grassland, otherwise you might have hurt your face, and then no handsome guy would want you." If it had been a different spot, it’d be a miracle if she hadn’t injured her face.

Quan Luo stuck out her small tongue, looking sheepishly at Gong Yu, "I was just careless." It wasn’t her fault.

Gong Yu teased with a laugh, "Yes, of course, at least eight out of ten times you’re ’just careless’." What else could she say?

"Hey, don’t keep ribbing me here." Quan Luo wrinkled her nose, pouted, and then curiously looked at Gong Yu, "You didn’t mention what you were daydreaming about just now. Weren’t you supposed to taking the best photo to participate in the photography festival hosted by our school? Have you got it?" As she spoke, her gaze shifted curiously towards Gong Yu’s camera.

This task had already been ongoing for several days; each photo that Gong Yu had snapped was beautiful, yet she remained unsetisfied. It was hard to fathom, what it would take to please her. There wasn’t much time left and she had no idea how to remind Gong Yu of this fact.
