"Miss Sun, are you referring to yourself?" Jiang Po chuckled nonchalantly. Sun Yao stiffened momentarily but quickly regained her composure, a playful smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "Uncle Jiang, you must be joking."

A flicker of ice cold light passed briefly through the depths of her eyes, replaced immediately with a humorous glint. She shot a reproachful glance at Jiang Po.

Jiang Po broke out into a hearty laugh. "It seems like it wasn’t a very funny joke, my apologies." His laughter was infectious, but how much of it was genuine, only he knew.

Sun Yao shook her head to signify her understanding.

But deep down, she let out a cold snort.

Was it really just a joke? Sun Yao didn’t think so.

It appeared that in the eyes of this cunning old Family Head of the Jiang Family, she was also a seductive venomous snake? How amusing. Sun Yao shivered disdainfully inside.

Perhaps she should express her gratitude to him, after all, he seemed to think highly of her.

Jiang Po pocketed the photo, looking at the young girl in front of him. "Anyway, thank you for caring so much about Tiantian, she’s lucky to have you as a friend."

"No, being friends with Tiantian is my blessing." Sun Yao shook her head, her smile both affable yet gracious. "She has taken care of me quite a bit these past years." So much that she preferred not to discuss it further.

Jiang Po gave a faint smile without saying anything. His own daughter seemed to have her own interpretation of what ’caring’ entailed. Such a joke, was it really like this?

After a pause, he continued, "Next, I will start searching for Tiantian. As for Ming City, I can only hope you will assist as much as possible. After all..." Jiang Po glanced at Sun Yao, his smile harboring an unspoken depth. "The Sun Family holds a significant position in Ming City."

"Rest assured, I will." Sun Yao agreed without hesitation. "I will do my best to find Tiantian." Although she had suspicions about Tiantian’s fate.

Yan Zilei was not known for his mercy.

Afterwards, they exchanged pleasantries for a while and Sun Yao, citing a prior engagement, bid her farewell.

Now that her business here was done, she couldn’t stand any more idle chatter and was losing her patience rapidly.

She stepped outside, turned to look at the imposing mansion, a graceful smile curved on her lips. That look, however, did not reach her eyes. Taking a moment, she turned and walked away.

"Family Head, do you really believe her?" From the side of the window, Jiang Po watched her shadow disappearing inside her vehicle, driving until it was a distant speck. Behind him, an inquisitive voice questioned him.

"Do you think I believe her?" Jiang Po looked sideways at the person behind him, answering with an ambiguous question.

Did he look like such a foolish man?

The question brought the other man to a halt, and he effortlessly responded, "Family Head, you don’t." According to the man’s understanding of Jiang Po, he hardly trusted anyone fully, let alone a woman with such heavy thoughts.

The woman evidently does not have pure intentions, but their own objectives were not all that innocent either. All is equal.

Of course, he did not voice out these thoughts.

He was contemplating what could have happened to their young miss. Though he didn’t particularly care for her, she was still their young miss.

"So, what should we do next?" The man asked, looking at Jiang Po.

"Immediately send someone to Ming City to investigate Tiantian’s situation, then help me bring her back safely. Also, have them find out everything about Poison Doctor’s activities in Ming City." Jiang Po ordered with certainty. The man nodded, and after a brief pause, Jiang Po continued, "Also, have someone secretly keep an eye on Miss Sun of the Sun Family." He was curious about what she was planning to do.

More importantly, Jiang Po was convinced that Sun Yao had a lot of secrets up her sleeve, aiming to use the Jiang Family as a pawn against the Poison Doctor.

Jiang Po scoffed, just solitary Sun Yao, still a little too naive.

Even the Family Head of the Sun Family was not a match for him, and surely didn’t have the rights to command him.

Seems like Miss Sun thought too highly of herself; unfortunately, she was born in the wrong family.

The Sun Family had already extended its reach to C Province, just as the Jiang Family had encroached upon Ming City. This was a fact understood by both parties, yet everyone was hesitant to pierce through this veil of ambiguity. But causing a little stir, he was more than capable of doing that.
