Chapter 534: Chapter 365: You’re sick, and it’s not a minor sickness (3)_2
The second day, the morning sun was slightly warm.
Before leaving, Mu Lin had a long conversation with Elder Zhou. Elder Zhou mentioned that he and Mei Qingyuan were at the hospital, and they seemed to have an important patient to attend to.
Mu Lin was a bit curious. Just how important was this patient that it warranted both Elder Zhou and Elder Mei’s personal attention? The patient must be some big shot.
"Miss Mu." Mu Lin had just gotten out of the car when a call from Zhou Jiansheng came in.
"Elder Zhou." Mu Lin sounded a bit regretful.
"Have you arrived, Miss Mu?" Zhou Jiansheng asked.
"I just arrived at the Main Gate." Mu Lin replied.
"Then come directly to my office." Zhou Jiansheng’s voice sounded a bit different over the phone. Not asking more, Mu Lin nodded, "Alright."
After finishing the call, she walked towards the Director’s office.
Mu Lin exited the elevator and walked towards the office of Zhou Jiansheng, but as she neared the door she saw Zhou Jiansheng was already standing there, looking like he was waiting for her.
It wasn’t narcissism. It was just Mu Lin’s intuition.
"Elder Zhou." Mu Lin greeted Zhou Jiansheng when she reached him.
"Miss Mu, it’s really good that you could come." Zhou Jiansheng looked at Mu Lin with an excited gaze. On the day he received her call, God knows how relieved he felt.
"What’s the matter?" Zhou Jiansheng didn’t seem quite right.
Zhou Jiansheng replied, "Miss Mu, even though you’re not working here anymore, I still hope you can help us." He and Elder Mei had run out of options. They couldn’t figure out what was wrong with the patient, and could only watch him grow weaker day by day.
Upon hearing Zhou Jiansheng’s words, Mu Lin laughed, "Elder Zhou, there’s no need for such talk. If there’s anything you need help with, just tell me. If I can help, I won’t say another word." Mu Lin was quite surprised. It seemed she had returned at a very opportune time.
Just what kind of situation would have both of them stumped? Judging by Zhou Jiansheng’s looks, it must be no small matter.
"That’s great." Zhou Jiansheng knew that Mu Lin wouldn’t refuse him. Even so, when she agreed, he still felt a wave of relief.
Even though they couldn’t figure it out, Mu Lin’s medical skill was above both him and Mei Qingyuan. She should be able to figure it out, at least discern the cause of the illness.
Zhou Jiansheng had confidence in Mu Lin.
"Come in with me." He opened the office door, and Mu Lin followed him inside.
Inside, in addition to Elder Mei, there was another elder and a man around the same age as Song Qi. Right now, they were staring at her intently. The man’s eyes held a hint of curiosity, while the elder wore a good-natured smile on his face.
Mu Lin’s initial surprise quickly gave way to a calm expression.
This must be a man of status.
As for the man who was suspicious of her, Mu Lin simply ignored him.
This didn’t just have to do with the personal reception by Elder Zhou and Elder Mei, but also the aura that he naturally exuded.
"Elder Mei." Mu Lin walked to Elder Mei’s side, greeting him with a smile. Seeing Mu Lin, the solemnity of Mei Qingyuan’s face eased into a faint smile, "So Miss Mu is back." He was truly happy to see Mu Lin, not just because he needed her help.
Mu Lin smiled and nodded, then turned her full attention to the elderly man before her.
"You’re ill, and it’s quite serious." She said, resolute and unyielding in her manner, fully displaying her direct disposition.
Unfortunately, this phrase angered the man yet amused the old man.
The old man was genuinely amused by the forthright young woman before him. He had heard about the famous Divine Doctor Mu had quite the personality making peculiar requests to the hospital administration. Now he could see that the stories were probably true.
However, the old man felt that the girl before him was just an outspoken youth; he actually liked and appreciated her character, something he definitely couldn’t possess.
Such candid and free-spirited characters were indeed good.
Stopping the man who wanted to scold Mu Lin, the old man looked at her, "Oh? What do you think I’m suffering from?" He was interested in hearing her thoughts.
The old man didn’t know why Mu Lin would suddenly make such a statement, or if Zhou Jiansheng had said or hinted something to her when he left. But now, what he wanted to know was what disease she had detected in him.
This was the first time someone dared to speak to him this way, so directly telling him... he was ill.
For the old man, this was a very interesting and unique situation.
Just as the young woman standing in front of him was unique.
Upon the old man’s inquiry, Mu Lin smugly smiled, ignoring the two worried glances beside her. She knew what they were worried about, but there was no need.
As a healer, it’s important to speak the truth, isn’t it?
The crowd agreed; this was indeed big truth.
"You worry too much, you don’t rest well, and on top of that." Mu Lin looked at the faint greenish hue under the man’s eyes that was almost invisible, "You’ve been slowly poisoned. The poison has been in hibernation for at least ten years."
