"Yanyan." Yan Zilei swiftly walked up to Yanyan, sizing her up top-down. Seeing that she was fine, only then did Yan Zilei sigh in relief.

"Brother." In front of Yan Zilei, Yanyan returned to her usual self – naive, cute, genuinely simple, completely unlike how she was in front of Lai Ou.

"Let’s go, let’s head up." His eyes lightly glanced at the reception staff. As they shivered in response, he retracted his gaze, grabbed Yanyan’s hand and headed towards the CEO and client-special elevator.

"So, it really is the real deal." That is probably the only thought they had in their minds.

However, now they are beginning to worry. After all they had stopped Miss Yan at the reception, especially that receptionist who had been squaring off with Yanyan. She felt that she was having more bad luck than good.

Strangely enough, they recalled what Lai Ou had said before leaving so confidently. In this situation, she turned out to be completely wrong.

Certainly a fake person! She pretends to be simple and harmless but is an accomplished liar. Such people are actually the most despicable.

Linking arms with Yanyan, Yan Zilei walked into the elevator and casually asked, "Why didn’t you come straight up?"

"I was stopped. I couldn’t come up." Yanyan said, implying her own innocence—she had wanted to come straight up too.

Yan Zilei chuckled, "Didn’t you identify yourself?" Yanyan’s name should be somewhat useful here, right?

"I did." Unfortunately, they didn’t believe her, Yanyan looked at Yan Zilei, "I heard that several dozens, if not hundreds, of people have been using my name to meet you. Is that true?" This was her way of expressing jealousy.

"Really?" Yan Zilei was clueless. He frowned and thought back, "That might have happened several years ago. But it stopped after that." This was because he had ’dealt’ with a bunch of useless people afterwards.

So what that person said was true.

Yanyan thought to herself.

"It seems you really ought to give your reception staff a pay raise." These years, they had blocked so many unwelcome suitors for him. Yanyan believed it was definitely worth a salary raise.

"It’s our company," Yan Zilei corrected her. It’s not ’yours’ or ’mine’. But he failed to understand, "Why?" Why would they require a pay raise? She wasn’t saying that she was being blocked, was she?

"Do you know why they stopped me?" Mu Lin asked in response.

Sadly, these trivial matters were never Yan Zilei’s concern, of course he knew nothing of it.

"They stopped lots of bad suitors for you." She coughed, "And that group includes me too."

Bad suitors.

Hearing her words, Yan Zilei quietly laughed. The elevator door opened, and tightly holding Yanyan’s hand, he walked off to his office. His actions instantly drew a lot of curious gazes.

Those were all curious yet discreet glances. No one dared to watch upfront, except for Bai Heng.

This was the first time they were seeing their CEO bring a woman here.

As for Yanyan, Bai Heng was probably the only employee who had seen her a few times at the Ya Family. But they weren’t acquainted, and hadn’t actually spoken much.

"Since Yanyan asks for it, let’s go ahead with the raise", Yan Zilei said after giving it some thought. Without asking much, he casually pressed a button, summoning Bai Heng, "Bai, come here for a moment."

Having just entered ’work mode’ and suddenly being called in by Yan Zilei made Bai Heng extremely helpless towards his boss. However, when he found out he had been called to discuss the issue of a pay raise for the reception staff, Bai Heng had an intense urge to explode.

Why couldn’t he get some other assistant to handle this errand? It was merely a salary increment, why was there a need to hurry?

As for Yan Zilei’s response, he would most likely say he was used to it. He was used to leaving everything to Bai Heng, because he trusted him completely. Regardless of the nature of the task, Bai Heng always managed everything smoothly without requiring Yan Zilei to nitpick over the details.

Bai Heng cursed under his breath.

Alright, it was his own fault for fostering such a ’bad’ habit in Yan Zilei.

Yan Zilei could roughly guess the problem Mu Lin had encountered downstairs. However, since Mu Lin had proposed this suggestion, those people below probably left a good impression on his beloved Yanyan.

As for the reception staff, they were initially anxious about whether they would be in trouble or even get fired because of this incident. However, they were instead met with the surprising news of a pay raise.

When they found out that this was all due to a single sentence of Yan’s, they instantly fell in love with Yan, a girl whom they had met for the first time.

Only heavens knew how anxious they were.
