Chapter 503: Chapter 346 Hard Earned! (Second Update)_1

"It seems I have indeed made a bit of progress." Mu Lin expressed satisfaction with herself.

The healing medicine she used for wounds didn’t merely heal on the surface. Even though it couldn’t completely heal wounds in an instant to a point where one would feel perfectly fine, internally, at least 55 to 66 percent of healing had occurred.

Upon hearing Mu Lin’s self-praise, Jing Chen laughed and wholeheartedly agreed with her because he saw the truth: she hadn’t just made progress, she had improved rapidly.

Despite the risk, Jing Chen felt certain that bringing Mu Lin in was an immensely correct decision; at least, the wound medicines that Mu Lin had made contributed significantly to his troops.

If Mu Lin hadn’t brought the group here, their present losses would presumably be more severe.

Wu Ya moved his arm a bit, and dared to press down on it heavily. He hissed, then burst into enthusiasm, "That’s great! Although there’s still some pain, compared to yesterday, it’s an entirely different story. Incomparable!" This rhetoric, he wondered if it was worthy of applause.

"Sister-in-law’s power is impressive!" Wu Ya cheered joyously, but dared not rush up, even though he wanted to. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the guts to provoke their boss.

Wu Ya was absolutely certain that if he recklessly threw himself at his sister-in-law, their Boss would make him disappear instantly.

Tsk tsk tsk... murder and hiding the corpse.

He he he... just joking.

Mu Lin paid him no mind, and couldn’t care less about his antics. She turned to look at Xigua and stood up, saying, "Try and stand up."

Xigua nodded, and someone immediately came forward to help him up.

He had been lying down for so long that he could hardly stand; Xigua felt that if he stayed on his feet for a couple more days, he might end up useless.

"How do you feel?" Mu Lin asked softly, carefully observing Xigua’s expression.

Xigua shook off his comrades’ support, moved a little, then looked at Mu Lin with surprise, "Sister-in-law, finally, I don’t need to be carried around anymore." Also, he could feel his strength slowly returning.

Xigua knew this was definitely related to the medicine that Mu Lin had fed him in the morning.

It must be a valuable medicine.

Perhaps Xigua had never thought that there would be a day when they would become so entwined with the Poison Doctor; all of this seemed to have originated from when they took their boss to the Black Forest in search of the Poison Doctor.

How nice it was that he became "friends" with Mu Lin, Xigua felt very satisfied.

Hearing his words, Mu Lin gave a light laugh, then asked, "Do your injuries pull at you?"

Xigua nodded, admitting without hesitation, "Yes, it indeed pulls a bit." And it’s pretty painful when it pulls, but. "However, it doesn’t matter, I’ve really improved a lot now." Especially compared to two days ago, "I think I can continue to fight now."

However, Xigua’s statement seemed somewhat forced.

Mu Lin glanced at him, "If you want to continue fighting, you need to rest for at least another day or two."

"Although your wound has indeed healed externally, the internal healing is only on the surface. The flesh inside hasn’t fully grown back yet. If you tear it open again, it would be like harshly tearing your own flesh, which would hurt terribly." And to continue fighting? That’s basically courting death; don’t bother her again if it tears open.

Mu Lin stated plainly, she’s a Poison Doctor, not a Divine Doctor, she’s not that miraculous. Western medicine would likely require stitches for such a wound, and one could absolutely not move recklessly for at least a week. Even a slight tear could result in unbearable pain.

Compared to Western medicine, which relies heavily on numerous instruments, Mu Lin genuinely preferred Chinese Medicine; because she only needed her hands to match their countless tools.

This statement was not arrogant nor joking.

Mu Lin looked at Xigua, indicating that she had tried her best. If some people wanted to suffer, she definitely wouldn’t stop them.

Upon hearing Mu Lin’s words, Xigua laughed awkwardly and quickly said that he didn’t dare.

Ah... their sister-in-law’s mouth is quite relentless. He just casually asked. If an ordinary person heard her direct and straight-forward words, they might be scared. Only they can be so calm.

But, Xigua knew that Mu Lin was actually just expressing her concern for him, it’s just that she’s different from their boss. The boss would prove his concern with actions and he definitely wouldn’t waste words, even if he’s harsh, it’s for their own good; As for their sister-in-law, they just had to admire her communication skills.

Having experienced it countless times before, he reckons she could even resuscitate the dead with her sharpness.

"Be a bit more careful." Mu Lin said to Xigua, "Your life is something I’ve painstakingly saved. I don’t want it to be lost easily again."

"Cough... Sister-in-law, remember to spare people."

The people around Ying Sun smirked and hid their laughter, showing their agreement with Mu Lin’s words. Though they didn’t see any "hardship" in Mu Lin’s rescue, they found her knife work and speed to be very casual, swift and precise, without a hint of hesitation. They believed that no one in this world could compare to her.

Luo Shiyan covered her mouth to hide her laughter. At first, she thought the girl who appeared before her like a savior was very poised and formidable. Now, she found her to be very intriguing and looked extremely good when she smiled.

Despite their dangerous situation, she suddenly noticed that the atmosphere improved since she arrived here.

No wonder all these impressive soldiers had such expressions when they mentioned her. They must really admire and like her.

They were all women, but compared to her, she felt insignificant.

Jing Chen looked at Mu Lin, his smiling face filled with overwhelming doting.

Despite the dangerous situation, Mu Lin’s presence brought warmth. He believed that the people of Ying Sun could also sense the subtle changes in their atmosphere.

After resting the whole day, Xigua’s wounds had significantly healed and she could now walk on her own. Her energy had recovered and with Ying Sun’s group escorting Luo Shiyan, they continued their journey.

A silver snake twined around Mu Lin’s wrist, while Qiaozi, whose wings had healed, hovered slightly above them, monitoring any potential enemies.

"Sister-in-law, where did you get this snake from? It’s so spiritual." Wu Ya stared at Silver, his eyes round with interest.

"I saved Silver from going into Qiaozi’s stomach a few years ago. Initially, I only kept him because he was peculiar. Later on, I found this little fellow to be incredibly spiritual. The venom in his body is also quite interesting and completely different from ordinary ones. It was worth researching," Mu Lin casually replied without any intention of hiding anything.

Upon hearing Mu Lin’s words, Wu Ya shuddered involuntarily.

He reckoned that only their sister-in-law would consider studying snakes as interesting.

Wu Ya attempted to touch Silver, but the next moment, Mu Lin’s cold voice spoke again, "Don’t blame me for not warning you. Silver won’t show mercy when people he doesn’t like or strangers approach him." The venom was secondary. Most importantly, it would be quite painful to get bitten by Silver.

Upon hearing Mu Lin’s words, Wu Ya immediately withdrew his hand.

My God, this is too dangerous.

As expected, only sister-in-law could touch these things. Thankfully, at least Qiaozi won’t randomly attack.

Wu Ya stated that he preferred the spiritual Qiaozi compared to the spiritual snake.

Since the first time he saw Qiaozi.

Wagging its tail, Silver lazily curled up and then lay down on Mu Lin’s wrist to sleep soundly.

Mu Lin hadn’t given any orders yet, so Silver decided to rest for a while.

...

On the other side.

The opposing forces returned to the border at this time. Standing in front of the video, the little team leader who’d disdained the soldiers now stood formally with his head bowed, shaking the tiniest bit. His previously cocky demeanor was now completely gone.

Time passed in silent tension. Seeing the serious cold gaze opposite him, the team leader unconsciously lowered his head even more.

"You mean to say that the opposing team, comprised of no more than twenty people, inflicted heavy losses on your team of almost a hundred? Yet they didn’t lose a single person. Is that what you’re saying?" The low voice held no traces of emotion.

"Yes." Almost unconscious nodding followed by a shake of the head. "Not exactly."

"One of them was shot in the chest and though they managed to get him out, I reckon he should be dead by now." That bullet, after all, came from him.

But the small team leader definitely would not say that the bullet was accidentally misfired. If that soldier hadn’t blocked it, their mission might have failed, leaving him with only one outcome – death. His initial intention of capturing Qiaozi was to make up for his mistake.

Because he knew they really liked ferocious animals; one of which was a cobra.

Though his answers were steady, he somehow felt the temperature around him dropped as he spoke faster until he stopped.

A low chuckle grew into uproarious laughter, but the team leader heard no mirth in the man’s voice, only an infinite chill that made his heart freeze. His anger was rising; what should he do now?
