The night sky was twinkling faintly. In the open fields of the southern suburbs, there was nowhere to hide. The fields, bright as daylight, seemed eerily quiet.

Far away, a slender figure ambled in, looking unusually relaxed and comfortable against the odd backdrop of the creepy night.

Finally, the figure stopped at the entrance of the large factory, paused for a moment, and then strolled in with an indifferently raised mouth corner.

"Here she is." Seeing the figure approaching her step by step, Jiang Tiantian was somewhat surprised that Mu Lin arrived so quickly.

Moreover, she came alone. It seemed that she really cared about the Ya family’s daughter. However, the real motive behind this was unknown.

Looking at Jiang Tiantian, Mu Lin said with a calm yet melodious smiling, "You’ve ’invited’ me over with all these tactics, how could I not come? It would be so disrespectful."

Mu Lin emphasised the word ’invited’.

Jiang Tiantian just snorted.

"Now that I’m here," said Mu Lin. "Where is my little bunny? Are you still planning to hide her?"

Upon hearing Mu Lin’s words, Jiang Tiantian slightly moved her finger while raising her lips. Effortlessly, Ya Yan was brought out from a warehouse behind her.

"Mu Lin, get out of here. She’s set up a lot of people to take you down. Don’t worry about me." Just like the first time they met, Ya Yan was always concerned about others rather than herself.

The situation was different from the previous one; there were way too many people, and a very dangerous man was present. However, Mu Lin was alone.

Upon seeing Mu Lin, Ya Yan instinctively tried to sprint towards her, but she was held down tightly. She could only watch her anxiously and urge her to escape.

"Who did this?" Mu Lin, however, seemed to have not heard her at all. She merely looked at the red fingerprint bruise on Ya Yan’s cheek with cold eyes, her voice chilling.

Ya Yan shook her head, "I’m okay." It was just a slap; she could endure it.

"Who did this?" Mu Lin repeated, with the same cold and chilling tone.

Jiang Tiantian suddenly burst out laughing at Mu Lin, "Look who’s getting upset now." She shrugged, feigning helplessness. "It’s not my fault. She tried to escape. I had no choice but to lay my hands on her. I was innocent."

"But," Jiang Tiantian smirked at Mu Lin, " I kept my promise. Not a single hair was harmed, well, apart from some extra marks on her face." A little more was even better.

Perhaps because Mu Lin was already on her turf from which she couldn’t escape, she was not polite at all.

Well, Jiang Tiantian didn’t even know what politeness was. Moreover, she had been looking down on Mu Lin ever since the beginning.

"So, you hit her." With a hint of a smile, Mu Lin’s cold eyes looked quietly at Jiang Tiantian, without any signs of fluctuation or warmth.

Hearing Mu Lin’s words, Jiang Tiantian laughed, her laughter extremely bright. "I wouldn’t personally handle such trivial matters." Her look implied that it was the man who was pressing down on Ya Yan.

"Good." Step by step, Mu Lin slowly approached, glancing at Ya Yan. "Which hand hit her?"

Before Ya Yan could speak, Mu Lin’s figure had already appeared in front of her. Paired with Mu Lin’s light smile and indifferent words, the man’s cry of agony echoed in the air, "The right hand, huh?" Since it was the left side of the face, she guessed it was the right hand. But even if she was wrong, it didn’t matter because... she wouldn’t mind doing it again anyway.

The blood from the military knife in her hand dripped slowly.

In an instant, Ya Yan was already protected in Mu Lin’s arms, catching everyone off guard.

As for the man who hit Ya Yan, he was writhing on the ground, clutching his wrist. The tendons of his hand were cut off, rendering the hand useless.

Jiang Tiantian stared in shock at Mu Lin, unsure of how to react.

Because the current situation was entirely different from her initial plan, she forgot to react.

Jiang Tiantian didn’t expect Mu Lin’s skills to be so high. She hadn’t seen what she did, but Ya Yan was already saved and guarded behind her.

"Mu Lin." Being guarded by Mu Lin, Ya Yan held onto the hem of Mu Lin’s clothes tightly, "I’m sorry, I’ve dragged you into this again." Ya Yan felt she could only cause trouble for Mu Lin and there was nothing she could do to help.

Mu Lin shook her head and smiled faintly, "Shouldn’t I be the one to say sorry to you? After all, I’m the one they’re after. You’re just involved because of me." While saying this, she took out a small pill from her bag and handed it to Ya Yan, "Here, eat this."

Without hesitation, Ya Yan swallowed the pill.

"Mu Lin, there are so many of them, and they all have guns. Be careful," even before Ya Yan could finish her sentence, Jiang Tiantian — who had already recovered from the shock — acted as if she was going mad. The armed men who were already lying in ambush gradually surrounded them, their guns pointing straight at their heads.

With the corner of her mouth curved into a smile, Mu Lin’s expression remained unchanged, as she glanced over all of the people around her with indifferent eyes. "Though I don’t particularly like to play with guns, I also don’t care much for having them pointed at me."
