Chapter 400: Chapter 285: Are You Nuts? (Second Update)_1
"Excuse me, are we close?" Mu Lin asked, looking at Sun Yao indifferently.
"What?" Sun Yao was a bit confused and did not immediately understand what he meant.
Mu Lin asked again, "And also, do you know me well?"
"What do you mean by that?" Sun Yao was perplexed by Mu Lin’s nonsense questions. They seemed unrelated to what she had asked earlier. Besides, who wanted to be close to her or understand her? She wasn’t that bored.
"Since we’re not close, and you don’t understand me, what’s the point of this pointless chitchat?" Mu Lin continued, his indifferent gaze on the bewildered Sun Yao. "I, Mu Lin, never liked playing the good guy, let alone associating it with such futile words like ’kindness’."
"Do not offend me, and I won’t offend you. This is my principle in life. However..." His lips curved into a mysterious smile, "if someone does offend me, I will annihilate them. If they want me to show some mercy, I will retaliate a hundredfold."
"Do you honestly consider me ’kind’?" Mu Lin burst into laughter, "Are you stupid or something?"
Laughter erupted hearing the last statement. Especially Hong Boyuan and Liu Xiaoya, their laughter was anything but polite.
He hit the nail on the head when saying Sun Yao was stupid. Seeing her standing there, totally flummoxed by Mu Lin’s words, Liu Xiaoya felt hugely relieved.
Why wasn’t Mu Lin their schoolmate? If he was, she couldn’t imagine those people daring to show off in front of him. They would surely be silenced.
Seems like compared to Mu Lin, her own skills were lacking after all.
Even the principal was taken aback by Mu Lin’s words.
It was his first time hearing someone refuse an acknowledgment of being a ’good person’. After all, in society nowadays, many people would do all kinds of evil behind the scenes, yet hypocritically perform virtuous deeds in public. There were a lot of such people.
Admittedly, after listening to Mu Lin, the principal couldn’t help but start to admire this...wait, Divine Doctor Mu Lin.
But he wondered how his medical skill was.
Also, he just heard that Mu Lin once saved Ya Yan? He did good but refused to call himself a good person. This was indeed a peculiar girl.
"How could you speak to Yaoyao like that? What did she say wrong?" Once again, someone was braving death to defend Sun Yao, feeling endlessly unfair for her after Mu Lin "belittled" her.
Xiao Feng, observing the situation, found the world really could harbor such silly...oh no, not even the word ’silly’ could save such a person. They couldn’t even save themselves, yet they still wanted to step up for others. It was quite amusing indeed.
Most importantly, the other party didn’t even care about their pleas.
Looking at Sun Yao’s dark and gloomy face, Xiao Feng smirked; truly, such a hypocrite.
"Okay, I believe Miss Mu didn’t mean that on purpose." Sucking in a deep breath, Sun Yao managed a faint smile and tried to soothe the angry girl.
She already despised Mu Lin to death, wouldn’t even mind tearing her asunder there and then. Sadly, once you wear a mask of hypocrisy, it’s not easy to take it off. Mainly because almost all people in the crowd present, except for a few fools, had seen her true face.
Tsk tsk... thinking about it, she was really tired.
"I’m sorry, but I did mean it." Mu Lin teased remorselessly, continuing to provoke Sun Yao. Her villainous demeanor was quite appealing, certainly more pleasing to the crowd than Sun Yao’s pitiful look.
Sun Yao looked at Mu Lin with an expression of grievance, "Miss Mu, did I offend you in some way? Why do you insist on speaking with me so rudely?" Her expression would have suggested that Mu Lin had committed an unforgivable crime against her.
Hearing this, Mu Lin could only sigh, "Miss, I’ve already told you that we are not close. Yet, you’re still trying so hard to build a connection. Is it really that interesting?" He gave her a cold look, "It’s already exhausting being oneself, let alone pretending to be someone you’re not. I really don’t know whether to admire you or pity you." His honesty was quite refreshing.
