Chapter 398: Chapter 283 Face (Third Update)_2
True enough, if a woman walks down the street with an extremely handsome man by her side, it would be odd if other women did not envy or despise her. The same could be said vice versa.
Mu Lin arched an eyebrow at the girl who was foolish enough to point at him. "Do you have any advice for me?" He thought to himself: ’this girl is definitely a case of beauty without brains; she should literally have a label stuck on her.’
"Delusional fool, I can’t believe you’d dare show your face here," the clueless girl muttered, completely unaware of being manipulated.
Unbelievable!
What audacity! Hong Boyuan, who had been openly watching the drama unfold from the principal’s office, shook his heads in disbelief. They couldn’t help but admire the girl’s courage - the gall to speak to Mu Lin in such a manner.
Mu Lin, however, responded with a slow smile. He glanced casually at the girl who continued to point her finger at him, then took the snake from Ya Yan’s arms, its silver eyes never leaving his. Grinning mischievously, he stroked its head, "I think, I really wouldn’t mind taking on the title of the villain. What do you say, Silven?"
His tone was surprisingly gentle.
Silven nodded immediately, appearing eager for action. It seemed that the snake would pounce at the accusing finger at Mu Lin’s command.
The girl quickly withdrew her hand as she noticed where their gazes were directed. Liu Xiaoya beside her could not help but admire Mu Lin’s cool demeanor. She wondered where Yanyan had met such a friend and why she hadn’t introduced him to her.
Such a fascination!
If Ya Yan did mention him, Liu Xiaoya would probably detest Sun Yao even more, while her admiration for Mu Lin would only grow.
Suddenly, Mu Lin turned to look at her with a gentle smile, "Why don’t you tell us the truth of the matter?" He noticed her zeal in defending and decided to let her speak.
"Sure." Liu Xiaoya was taken aback but quickly responded, "The truth is not at all like what that girl said. Yanyan and I were..."
Several minutes passed... Mu Lin thought to himself, ’This girl can certainly talk. She is eloquent and sometimes even can convey the situation as if she was a live witness.’
Turning to the boy, Mu Lin asked, "So you are asserting that they rummaged through Yan Yan’s bag while she was absent, and tried to dispose of Silven in the trash bin, is that correct?" His smirk did not mask the chill it emitted, which frightened the boy.
The boy nodded, "Yes." In the glare of Mu Lin’s gaze, he believed no one would dare lie.
"Very well," Mu Lin replied, turning to the principal; "I had originally assumed that Silven was the one causing trouble by biting someone. Now it turns out that the victims are actually Silven and Yan Yan. As the principal, I am sure you know how to handle this situation."
"Isn’t it true that to take without asking is stealing?" His words instantly shifted the narrative, as Yan Yan and Silven were now the victims - which was indeed the reality.
"Indeed you are right." The principal felt significant pressure under Mu Lin’s gaze. He initially wished to lessen the gravity of the situation, but it seemed that might be challenging.
The teenager standing before him emanated an imposing aura that sent chills down his spine. Mu Lin indeed was no ordinary girl!
"So, Principal, what are you planning to do? Should I call the police for you?" The joking light in her eyes and the upward curve of her lips combined with her tone made the principal shudder.
Yet, before the principal could answer, the girl who had accused Yan Yan spoke up again, "Who stole what? It is clear that Yan Yan intentionally sicked her snake on someone!" Showing no remorse, she continued to cling to her version of the event, which was admirable in its own way.
The principal was now truly furious, "Shut your mouth! This is not your turn to speak. The truth will be determined by my judgement. I certainly don’t need a child telling me how to do my job!" The girl fell silent, biting her lower lip and looking resentful. However, she dared not utter another word.
At this moment, the silent man by the side finally spoke. "It seems that our child did make a mistake. I am willing to apologize on her behalf. All I ask now is for you to save her by removing the snake venom." He requested Mu Lin, desperation apparent in his eyes.
He had heard Yan Zilei mention earlier that only the girl standing before him could neutralize the venom of this peculiar black snake. Although he was not entirely convinced, he trusted Yan Zilei wouldn’t lie to the principal and so assumed it to be true.
Unfortunately for him, it was not easy to persuade Mu Lin to lend a hand, especially when they were in the wrong. Of course, it was impossible!
Mu Lin stared at the man, her eyes cold. She sneered, "You slandered my friend, hurt my pet, and now you want me to save you? You’ve got quite the audacity!" Although she sounded lamenting, there was an icy chill in her look which sent shivers down their spines.
Liu Xiaoya couldn’t help but want to applaud for Mu Lin.
She was stunningly powerful and domineering!
"What do you want?" The man asked, his eyebrows slightly furrowed. As the boss of a company, being scolded by a girl in front of so many witnesses was quite embarrassing.
In many situations, a man’s pride could be paramount.
Unfortunately for him, whether his dignity could be maintained was not up to him but up to whether Mu Lin would allow it.
