Chapter 374: Chapter 269 - Black Scorpion’s Only Choice (One More)_2
Black Scorpion has considered Mo Yinfan’s people at one point, but eventually ruled them out. Their abilities could not possibly push him into a desperate situation.
Red Scorpion knows exactly what he is thinking, but that’s not important now. What’s crucial is, "You know this person too," she told him lightly as she looked at Black Scorpion.
Lifting his gaze, Black Scorpion asked with a detached expression, "Who?" He knew that even the formidable Red Scorpion was no match for this person. Could it be - a particular name was forming in his mind.
"The Poison Doctor, Mu Lin." As expected, when Red Scorpion revealed who their adversary was, even the usually composed Black Scorpion showed a hint of shock on his face.
Mu Lin thought it rather strange that she had unwittingly become the scapegoat for Jing Chen.
"The Poison Doctor! She has stepped back into the limelight?" Black Scorpion wondered why she would suddenly attack them. Could it be... As he glanced at the unnaturally pale Red Scorpion for the first time, realization dawned on him. "You’ve fought with her," he deduced. More than that, she had lost. One might even say her defeat was quite humiliating.
"Red Scorpion, I recall you always looked down on her. It’s quite surprising that you’re desperate for my help now," Black Scorpion mocked her, his eyes dancing with derision.
Red Scorpion huffed, unable to deny the accusation, "Indeed, I underestimated her in the past." But not anymore. The Poison Doctor is an adversary to be reckoned with. If it were a matter of poison, she might still stand a chance, but in terms of physical abilities, she could never match Mu Lin.
The prowess of Mu Lin both awed and infuriated Red Scorpion.
"I want to know why she suddenly attacked us," said Black Scorpion, at a loss for reasons. Despite them having targeted her for years, Mu Lin had never once initiated an attack. It made the fact that she attacked them out of the blue even harder to believe.
"Do you remember our current target?" asked Red Scorpion.
"You mean Mo Yinfan?" What could he possibly have to do with this?
"Perhaps you haven’t heard. The last time, Green Scorpion was caught by the Poison Doctor and the message she sent back with him," Red Scorpion’s eyes were cold as ice. "Black Scorpion, the reason for your last failure wasn’t due to your lack of strength, but because, she is one of Mo Yinfan’s protectors." The dignified Poison Doctor had fallen to such depths. Red Scorpion was disgusted.
But, fallen? Mu Lin had never once felt as if she had fallen.
No one in this world could bring her to such a state.
"Are you talking about that girl?" Hearing Red Scorpion’s words, an image of a petite figure crossed Black Scorpion’s mind and he exclaimed in surprise. He remembered seeing her, the girl who had calmly walked past them when they were engaged in a fight with Mo Yinfan’s bodyguard.
The Poison Doctor was actually a young girl even younger than him. This was too...unbelievable. To be honest, Black Scorpion was somewhat reluctant to believe this.
"You’ve seen her?" Red Scorpion frowned. She hadn’t expected that.
Black Scorpion nodded, "I saw her when we were dealing with Mo Yinfan last time." At that time, nobody would have thought that such a delicate girl could be the Poison Doctor. No wonder the person who fought them that day didn’t worry about the inside situation, even when she heard the gunshot noise, she only seemed a little startled.
At this point, everything seemed to make sense.
Of course. No wonder the young girl showed no fear when she saw them.
Red Scorpion looked at Black Scorpion through narrowed eyes, her gaze dark. "The Poison Doctor is not only skilled in poisons, she’s also incredibly fast." Red Scorpion wouldn’t have been bested by her otherwise.
Every time she thought of the events of that evening, Red Scorpion wished for nothing more than Mu Lin’s death.
"Black Scorpion, I need your strength. With your skills and my poison technique, she won’t stand a chance against you," she declared, displaying her overconfidence.
At those words, Black Scorpion scoffed, "So you’re suggesting that I fight her alone? Red Scorpion, you’d be sending me to my death." There was no difference between the two.
Red Scorpion smirked, "Even if that’s the case, Black Scorpion, I don’t think you’re in a position to refuse." Her gaze slid over to Yang Hao’s calm face.
Black Scorpion clenched his fists, "But I don’t trust you." If he went, he might not come back alive. Then Red Scorpion would never hand the antidote to Yang Hao. If he died, Yang Hao would die as well. No matter what, he had to make sure he returned alive.
"But you don’t have a choice, do you?" Red Scorpion pointed out. She held all the cards. Whether or not he trusted her, he had to believe. He had no other option.
Looking at Red Scorpion with icy cold eyes, Black Scorpion finally muttered, "I understand."
A satisfied smile played on Red Scorpion’s lips.
Lifting Yang Hao from the couch, Black Scorpion told Red Scorpion flatly, "I am taking her with me. I don’t trust her safety with you." He was nothing if not blunt.
Red Scorpion didn’t care about such minor disputes. She’d accomplished what she needed to anyway. "As you wish," she replied, passing him a porcelain bottle. "This is for you. If she’s exposed to just a little of this, she’s dead," she showed him the poison. "There is no antidote. Black Scorpion, you have two days."
Black Scorpion took the bottle and picked up Yang Hao. Without any hesitation, he turned and left.
Watching Black Scorpion’s back disappear, Red Scorpion’s lips curved into a sardonic smile.
Now all she had to do was sit back and watch the drama unfold.
The Poison Doctor, Mu Lin!
