Chapter 364: Chapter 263: Jing Ye Climbs the Wall, Qiaozi Stays Calm (First Update)_1
The night crept slowly on, and the silent sounds gradually echoed in the darkness. Red Scorpion furrowed her brows, feeling her breath becoming more and more difficult, as if someone was choking her neck. She woke up suddenly.
"Ah..." Sensing an itchy and numb feeling all over her body, Red Scorpion instinctively stretched out her hand to scratch. However, as soon as she realized what she had touched, she discarded it immediately and frantically brushed off whatever it was on her body before instinctively switching the lights on.
The light was as bright as day, but when Red Scorpion saw the teeming snakes, insects, mice and ants, and other bizarre things on her body and around her, even as an assassin of a certain organization, she couldn’t help but scream like an ordinary woman.
What was going on? Why were there so many disgusting things in her room?
The first thing that came to Red Scorpion’s mind was Mu Lin’s indifferent but stunning smile. She hastily shook off the things on her body, jumped up, and tossed the quilt to the floor. Seeing even more creatures crawling inside the quilt, she was utterly furious.
Horror. Anger. Nausea.
Suppressing the nausea, Red Scorpion felt her whole body trembling. Half from horror, half from anger; she was so furious that she almost had a kidney explosion, angry enough to vomit blood.
However, she quickly realized that although these creatures were dangerous, they seemed to not have hurt her. Red Scorpion kicked the hordes of creatures off her bed, but to no avail. As soon as she cleared an area, more would surge back. The same happened with the creatures on her body.
Snakes should have gone into hibernation by now. Why were they here?
Red Scorpion split open her palm once more, and the scent of fresh blood seemed to invigorate the creatures, who began to swarm on her even more eagerly. She was so enraged, she could kill.
Picking up the medicine bottle from the bedside table, she quickly poured out the powder within. First, she swallowed an antidote, then sprinkled the powder on herself. When she saw creatures gradually fall off her body and die, she sprinkled powder everywhere, making sure to reach every corner of the room. Now, all the creatures in the room were truly dead. Unfortunately, they covered the room, creating a horrifying and nauseating sight.
She put on the clothes hanging on the rack, gathered her belongings, and left the room.
Red Scorpion breathed a sigh of relief. She was grateful that she didn’t sleep naked last night, as she usually did, or the consequences would have been unimaginable.
The bulging veins on Red Scorpion’s forehead made it clear she was on the brink of killing Mu Lin.
Mu Lin! Mu Lin!
What on earth had she done to her? Red Scorpion couldn’t feel anything, but tonight’s incident had shocked her.
Descending the loft, something suddenly flashed across Red Scorpion’s mind.
Could it have been the antidotal soup?
Recalling Mu Lin’s soft but eerie smile, Red Scorpion sneered inwardly. She had no idea that Mu Lin had poisoned her then.
But when did she do it? She’d been watching Mu Lin closely the entire time and saw no opportunity for her to poison her. If it wasn’t then, when was it?
A doctor can’t cure herself, let alone Red Scorpion. Although she could make poison, that didn’t mean she qualified as a doctor. Every profession has its own specialization. Besides, could she figure out and neutralize the poison Mu Lin gave her that easily? That would be overestimating herself.
Only Mu Lin could likely neutralize the Charm Scent poison in this world.
That night, Red Scorpion switched to another room in the hotel, but she didn’t sleep at all. She didn’t show any signs of poison, but the episode earlier still made her skin crawl.
The next day, with eyes bloodshot, she walked out, hiding behind sunglasses.
Red Scorpion, in her slightly deliriously state, didn’t notice the pointing and whispering of the staff behind her.
