Chapter 269: Chapter 211: The Ungrateful Bastard (Third Update)_1

Looking at Jing Youlan, Mu Lin couldn’t help but chuckle, "Tell me, are you comfy down there on the ground?" It appeared he was settling in quite comfortably.

Jing Youlan heard a teasing voice to his side and when he looked up, he saw the figure of Mu Lin standing in front of him. With a hint of a smile on her face, she wore an amused look as if enjoying the spectacle.

With a roll, he sprang up from the ground and dusted himself, addressing her slightly embarrassed, "Mu Lin."

How embarrassing! His face was as red as a tomato!

Mu Lin looked at him with a light laugh, then her gaze landed on Grandpa Jing, a small smile gracing her lips, "Grandpa Jing."

"Our little Miss Mu has arrived." Grandpa Jing was exceptionally excited upon seeing Mu Lin, "Were you hurt in the last mission?" His concern apparent in his voice.

"Thank you for your concern, Grandpa Jing, but I am perfectly fine." Mu Lin casually brushed it off, spreading her arms to indicate she was unharmed.

Grandpa Jing nodded in satisfaction.

That’s good.

"Not a single word of concern when I returned." It seems he was not the biological grandson after all.

Seeing the interaction between Mu Lin and his grandfather, which seemed more familial than his own, Jing Youlan muttered under his breath.

"What did you say? Speak up." Grandpa Jing shot him a side glance, prompting Jing Youlan to immediately cover his mouth.

With a huff, he said, "With your tough appearance, why should I ask? Just one glance and I can see that you’re completely fine." His eyes full of almighty disdain.

Jing Youlan looked aggrievedly at Mu Lin, as if accusing her.

See, it is all because of you; that’s why my granddad has such contempt for me.

Mu Lin shrugged again, implying: it had nothing to do with her. After all, if the person was inherently unlikeable, even she, a divine doctor, couldn’t really cure that. Her medical skills were limited; perhaps the only remedy for him was being brought back to factory settings.

Jing Youlan felt a wave of utter defeat. Was he really that bad?

Watching the interactions between the two younger generations, Grandpa Jing felt reassured. Apparently, his good-for-nothing grandson seemed to be completely won over by this Mu girl, and rather earnestly too.

That’s good. Apart from Xiaochen, there should be someone else who can manage him too.

He sensed that, if this young man was afraid of Xiaochen, then towards Mu Lin, he’s somewhat compliant without hesitation. It seemed that this Mu girl surpassed Xiaochen in her influence.

To Grandpa Jing, it was destined that Mu Lin and their Jing family had a connection. In the future, she would definitely become a part of their family.

He was looking forward to that day.

...

This was Jing Youlan’s first time witnessing Mu Lin treating his grandfather. Seeing the thin beads of sweat on her forehead and her increasingly pale complexion, he was worried. He originally thought that acupuncture should be straightforward, like jabbing a few needles as they do on TV, but then again... He suddenly understood why Mu Lin fell asleep in their house after performing acupuncture before.

Jing Youlan had no idea that Mu Lin was already much better than before; at the very least, her aura was steadier than in the past.

Perhaps it had something to do with her military camp training. Physical fitness was good, and the aura had become quite stable; that was a good sign.

After plucking the last silver needle from Grandpa Jing’s head, Mu Lin tapped several points on his back with rotating finger movements. Anyone with a deep understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine would notice that these points corresponded with various acupoints present on the back.

Finally, she gave a gentle pat.

"Huff!" A thick clot of bloody sputum erupted.

"Grandpa Jing." Song Qi immediately rushed forward to support Grandpa Jing, carefully observing his complexion.

Grandpa Jing’s head spun a bit initially but clarity returned swiftly after. Palming his chest, he realized that the discomfiture he previously felt was completely gone, replaced by a pleasant sensation. He turned back to look at Mu Lin.

"Miss Mu" Looking at Mu Lin’s face, Grandpa Jing always felt pitiful for her. If it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t have to exhaust herself like this.

Gazing at Grandpa Jing, Mu Lin simply smiled lightly, "Don’t worry, I’m just a little tired. I’ll be fine after some rest." The aftermath was indeed a bit hard to resolve.

Mu Lin acknowledged that there was still massive room for improvement in her medical skills.

Although she said this, any of her professional peers or Mei Qingyuan, who have witnessed her medical skills, would be astonished if they heard her thoughts.

They would probably be filled with a mix of admiration and awe.

However, learning is an endless journey. Be it medical skills or anything else, Mu Lin’s mindset would surely comfort Mei Qingyuan; of course, he would work harder in researching. For Mei Qingyuan, the medical books that Mu Lin gifted him, annotated with notes and insights, were the most precious gems of his life. He cherished them immensely and was ever grateful for them.
