Mated at First Sight
Chapter 240 - 192

Chapter 240: 192

No, absolutely not.

Unfortunately, rejecting this matter in Mu Lin’s presence was futile. Didn’t she realize her beloved little snake had already been treated with so much disdain? She didn’t even cooperate properly.

"Darkling, stay still." Accidentally biting her treasured Xiaoyin would definitely spell disaster.

Working in tandem, one anchored on his shoulder, their other hands above and below—prying his jaws apart. Once again, Xiaoyin disappeared from everyone’s view in an instant.

His hands released, the man gawked at Mu Lin, querying, "Where’s the snake?"

Mu Lin beamed while her gaze fixated on his belly, "Perhaps it’s already having a swim inside, I guess". Ah... poor Xiaoyin, hopefully, it could cling on inside.

Mu Yinzi shed a tear of despair internally.

Hearing Mu Lin’s statement, the man turned around and vomited instantly without hesitation. Xue Jianbing and Jing Youlan moved far away immediately. Even Mu Lin moved her chair further away as she covered her nose, "Jeez, it stinks." She empathized with Xiaoyin once again, wondering if it had already fallen unconscious due to the stench. Even if Xiaoyin had, it ought to climb out.

"Can someone open a window?" Mu Lin said without looking back. Only then did everyone in the control room come to their senses.

Oh dear, did they feel like vomiting too?

Gross~

The exhaust fan turned on, and Jing Youlan couldn’t resist opening the door in the process. The officer outside who had only heard noises till now finally understood what was happening inside. Opening the door almost choked him to death from the stench.

Mu Lin watched coldly the man trying hard to dislodge Xiaoyin by scratching his own throat. Unfortunately, unless Xiaoyin wanted to come out, even if the man scratched his throat apart, or vomited up everything inside him—he couldn’t possibly bring Xiaoyin out.

The man was on the verge of passing out with his eyes rolled back in his head.

...

Five minutes later, Mu Lin declared: "Xiaoyin, time’s up." Finally, Xiaoyin could come out.

The next moment, as the man vomited again, Xiaoyin took the chance to escape. Upon noticing Mu Lin, Xiaoyin flung itself at her direction without hesitation.

"Stop!" Regrettably this time, Mu Lin moved aside without any hesitation, which caused Xiaoyin to look utterly dejected.

"You... are too filthy; you need to take a bath first." Mu Lin clarified, it wasn’t Xiaoyin she was disgusted with—it was the man.

Upon hearing Mu Lin’s words, Xiaoyin’s head drooped instantly.

For the first time, it felt rejected by its extremely affectionate owner.

He’s to blame!

Xiaoyin accused the man, blaming him entirely for all the mishaps.

If he had told the truth, its master wouldn’t have made it ’swim’, and she wouldn’t be showing it aversion now.

Xiaoyin contemplated it really wanted to bite him more.

Looking up at the camera, Mu Lin’s lips curled slightly speaking, "Could someone bring me a basin of water? My Xiaoyin needs a bath. Remember to add some pleasantly-scented bath gel." Otherwise, the smell would be unbearable.

"Understood." After a long pause, she heard Zhang Chen’s voice, with a trace of peculiar undertone in it.

Mu Lin was oblivious that apart from a few exceptions, some people in the control room had already gone to vomit one after another. They almost vomited their guts out.

Imagining the feeling of a snake crawling into one’s belly, they vomited even more severely.

They simply couldn’t accept this sight!

...

After a while, an officer brought a basin of fragrant water in. Spotting the water, Xiaoyin zipped into the basin. Startled, the officer dropped the pot, which was about to hit the floor, but was intercepted mid-air by Mu Lin.

A sigh escaped from her heart.

The courage of these people was pitifully small.

Everyone voiced: They couldn’t compete with a fairy in terms of bravery.

Holding the basin, Mu Lin said to the transfixed officer: "Wait here for me. I will need your help shortly."

"Eh?" The officer regained his resolve and nodded, "Alright." He wondered if all he had to do was to take the basin back after the snake had finished bathing.

Was it really that simple? Of course not!

Soon, after swimming several rounds in the basin, Xiaoyin poked its clean head out looking at Mu Lin, signifying it was clean, fragrant and ready to be cuddled.

Then, Mu Lin handed the basin over to the officer "I need to continue with the interrogation. Please help me clean Xiaoyin with clear water and pat it dry with a soft towel. It will come back on its own." Quite many requests there.

"Thanks in advance." A goddess-like smile.

"Alright." The officer received the basin and froze the next moment.

What had Doctor Mu just said? And what had he consented to? He was entirely clueless.

However, with the basin still in his hands, he didn’t know whether he should toss it, take it away, or return it to Mu Lin.

Rinse, wipe dry...Doctor Mu, that’s a tall order.

Seeing the officer still standing there stunned, Mu Lin smiled and reassured: "Don’t worry, Xiaoyin won’t bite anyone without my command. Be gentle with it, it’s very delicate and can easily get hurt."

She had been raising it for so many years, and yet it didn’t grow at all.

Mu Lin sighed helplessly.

"Alright...okay." The officer nodded; as long as it doesn’t bite, it was fine.

Even though he was scared, he went to help rinse it nonetheless.

...

Once the officer left, everyone’s attention shifted back to the man who’d vomited so much that only bile was left.

"How does it feel?"
