Chapter 215: Chapter 179: Saved Some Trouble (extra update)_2
At first, the thugs were startled by the sudden noise, but when they saw Mu Lin’s harmless yet beautiful face, they became overly excited.
It seemed like their luck today was impeccable; they had been blessed with two beauties. The one stuck on the wall, though, seemed tastier than the one in front of them.
Upon noticing the flash of lasciviousness in their eyes, Mu Lin’s gaze turned icy cold.
Tsk, they dared to fantasize about her—it appeared their guts were quite plump!
...
One of them, wearing an enticing smile on his face, looked at Mu Lin and said, "We’re playing a fun game. Would you like to come down and join us?" He was virtually acting like the big bad wolf trying to lure the little rabbit.
Unfortunately for them, Mu Lin was no rabbit, but the most venomous serpent imaginable—invoking her wrath would lead to severe disability, if not death.
"A fun game?" Mu Lin tilted her head and said, "Let me think about it." She adopted a genuinely contemplating pose.
However, upon seeing this, the girl grew anxious and shouted, "Run away, they are all bad guys, run!" Yet, before she could finish her sentence, she was abruptly slapped by one of them.
"Shut up, you wretch!" His mouth was watering at the sight of her, and he was determined to take her to task.
With an obstinate look in her eyes, the girl refused to concede. However, when she saw Mu Lin jump down without any hesitation, a sense of despair flashed through her eyes.
It was rather amusing to see her worry about Mu Lin despite her dire condition.
Gazing at her, Mu Lin nodded slightly with a soothing look in her eyes, and her lips twitched.
Stay calm.
These simple words made the girl’s body shudder. The despair in her eyes was quickly replaced by a sliver of hope.
Even she herself was confused as to why she held onto hope—perhaps it was due to Mu Lin’s calming demeanor and those two simple words.
With a leap from the wall, Mu Lin landed gracefully and faced the four thugs, remarking, "Alright, how do we play? I’m pretty excited." Her voice had regained its icy tone.
Unfortunately, the thugs, intoxicated by their lust, did not notice her subtleties. They stepped toward Mu Lin, reaching out to grab her hand.
Such a pity.
"Snap!" The next moment, a distinct sound of a bone cracking echoed in the silent surroundings. To Mu Lin’s ears, it was music, a melody of satisfaction.
With her next move, she kicked the thug, who ended up slamming against the wall and painfully grabbing his... third leg, howling in pain.
Tsk, tsk, tsk... When Mu Lin took action, she aimed to cripple! She was curious if he would ever be able to look at a woman straight again.
"Boss!" Seeing their boss wailing in pain on the ground, the remaining three did not hesitate to charge at Mu Lin. However, the outcome was predictably the same, despite the somewhat different process.
Alas...she really did show mercy, using only a fraction of her strength.
.....
Ignoring the four wailing thugs, Mu Lin walked toward the girl, her look calm and soothing, "Now that you’ve seen me, why didn’t you ask for help?"
The girl shook her head, "I couldn’t do what’d jeopardize you." She hadn’t thought that Mu Lin would be so powerful. As another girl, she was already unable to escape, she definitely couldn’t drag someone else in.
"Good people don’t live long," Mu Lin reminded; as far as she was concerned, in this world, kindness was the most useless thing.
"But they live in peace," the girl replied, laughing a relaxed laugh.
The girl’s smile had a soothing feeling about it—it was simply too pure.
"Actually, you’re a good person as well," the girl paused for a moment before adding, looking at Mu Lin, "otherwise, you wouldn’t have jumped down to save me." She was confident in her intuition—Mu Lin was a good person.
"You’re overthinking." Mu Lin’s response was quite indifferent, "The reason I dealt with them was simply because I didn’t like the way they looked at me." Didn’t this girl see her relishing the spectacle at the beginning?
It appeared she really hadn’t.
"But you targeted the hand he used to hit me," the girl continued, she was convinced Mu Lin had done it deliberately—as an act of revenge for her.
With a sigh, Mu Lin replied, "That’s my habit." Furthermore, the bastard had attempted to touch her with that hand; it was a miracle she hadn’t killed him at that very moment.
To think of it, living with their disability was a punishment more torturous than death for those thugs.
Unfortunately, no matter what Mu Lin said, the girl was convinced that she had stepped in to save her and had ruined the thug’s hand for her sake. She even wondered if she had crippled them.
This girl seemed as innocent as a white rabbit, yet she was stubborn, and, once her mind was made up, unable to change course.
Mu Lin suddenly felt like she had invited trouble upon herself.
Finally, Mu Lin decided not to argue with her anymore. She admired the girl, who, having just escaped the clutches of death and in total disarray, still insisted on arguing with her.
She took off the coat she was wearing and handed it to the girl. Today, Mu Lin truly epitomized the phrase ’In for a penny, in for a pound.’
The girl happily accepted the coat, zipped it up, and it just managed to cover her knees. She neatened her disheveled hair, took out a wet wipe and mirror from her bag, and wiped her face clean. The only visible marks of the encounter were the palm print on her face and the slight swelling.
"Since everything’s alright, I’ll take my leave," Mu Lin said lightly.
Unfortunately, as she turned to leave, she found an umbrella clinging to her arm—the girl was staring at Mu Lin with pleading eyes, causing Mu Lin to involuntarily raise an eyebrow.
She had indeed invited trouble on herself.
