Chapter 183: Chapter 163: Mr. Jing Feels Jealous (First Update)_1
After the meal, Mu Lin and Fang Zi, along with his wife, went to their resting area.
Leaning sideways on a chair, with his injured leg resting on another chair, Mu Lin was examining the leg, looking and touching it.
"Have you figured anything out?" Oddly enough, even though he knew Mu Lin was a doctor and it was inevitable for doctors and patients to have some close contact, Jing Chen felt inexplicably uncomfortable witnessing this interaction, even with his former comrade, creating a sense of unease in his heart.
All at once, Jing Chen found himself wishing that if Mu Lin wasn’t a doctor, or was a western doctor, that would be fine because Western medicine basically uses equipment and doesn’t require as much complexity yet simplicity as Chinese Medicine does or all the physical contact involved and the need to touch another man’s body.
Glancing indifferently at Jing Chen, Mu Lin ignored his disapproval and casually checked the pulse on Fang Zi’s wrist which he held in his hand, eventually asking, "Does this leg hurt usually?"
Fang Zi shook his head, "It basically doesn’t hurt normally, but when it rains, especially during the plum-rain season, it’s basically impossible for me to go to the shop to help." At that point, the pain in this leg makes everything inconvenient.
Every time he saw his wife come back home exhausted after a whole day of toiling, Fang Zi would always think that, if not for him, Qianqian might have had a better life and wouldn’t need to be so tired.
At that time, Fang Zi even felt as though he was a burden, useless.
"Sister-in-law, Fang Zi’s leg..." Can it be cured?
Fang Zi’s wife wanted to ask this question, but once she started, she felt it wasn’t appropriate, leaving her question half-finished, although everyone could guess what she wanted to ask next.
Mu Lin shook his head, instantly extinguishing the glimmer of hope in the couple’s eyes. However, Jing Chen was still waiting for Mu Lin’s next words.
Glancing at Jing Chen, Mu Lin then looked at the young couple in front of him, slowly continuing, "Although I can’t completely heal Fang Zi’s leg, I can free him from the impact of the plum-rain season." That is, Fang Zi wouldn’t need to be regularly tormented by pain, however about the other things... Mu Lin could only sigh in the end, admitting... "At most, I can make it so his walking will be slightly better than it is now." At least his limp won’t be as severe.
Even so, this news surprised and delighted the young couple.
"Really? Sister-in-law, is that really true?" Fang Zi won’t have to be plagued by pain anymore, and he can...he can walk more steadily, that’s wonderful.
Mu Lin nodded, giving a faint smile, "I do have that much medical skills." Otherwise, how would she justify being called a "divine doctor," not to mention her own reputation. If her skills were the same as an ordinary doctor, how could she stand up to her master.
"Thank you, sister-in-law, thank you." Fang Zi’s wife was so excited that she couldn’t contain herself.
Mu Lin felt like she had heard the term "sister-in-law" too many times today, if they really wanted to thank her, they should stop calling her that.
However, she didn’t voice this thought.
Mu Lin went on, "Please stand aside for a while, I need to perform acupuncture on Fang Zi. After that, I’ll write you a prescription. Just follow the instructions and apply the medicine accordingly."
Hearing Mu Lin’s words, Jing Chen stepped forward, looking at Mu Lin and asked, "Are you okay?" He seemed worried.
Mu Lin knew that what Jing Chen was probably asking about was whether her acupuncture would cause after-effects. She shook her head, "No problem, his leg won’t demand much energy from me, so there will be no issues."
Jing Chen nodded, that was good.
Mu Lin would still need to perform acupuncture on his grandpa today. If she were to add this in as well, given the problems Mu Lin encountered last time, it was understandable that Jing Chen would be worried; he didn’t want any harm to come to Mu Lin’s body due to his actions.
...
Appreciating the deep gratitude.
Honestly, the scene Mu Lin least liked to deal with was such.
Before leaving, Mu Lin pulled out a small porcelain bottle from her all-purpose bag and handed it to Fang Zi’s wife, "These are some beauty products I’ve made myself. You just need to use a pinch of it, roughly the size of a fingernail, mixed with water when you wash your face. Consider this my wedding gift to you."
After a pause, she added another sentence, "Rest assured, it absolutely does not contain any preservatives." It was purely natural and additive-free.
