Chapter 1083: Chapter 728: The Mystery Surrounding Mi Zheng (Three More)_2

"But I have three kids waiting for me to support."

Jing Chen tried to stifle a laugh upon hearing Mu Lin’s words. Where exactly did Mu Lin think he was being put in this situation! He then turned to the pilot, who was already trying not to laugh, and ordered, "Fly over the island."

Mu Lin’s intention was already clear. She was now about to go openly to do what?

Collect the rent!

"Roger!" The pilot exclaimed with excitement.

Ever since Mu Lin joined Ying Sun, the originally "bad" group had become even "worse," and their favorite pastime was — to revel in others’ misfortunes.

As the battle jet hovered over the island, Mu Lin’s phone call came through. Seeing the name displayed, Mu Lin raised her eyebrows, "I’m here, are you ready to receive me?"

"Welcome."

Standing on the second-floor balcony of the mansion, Mi Zheng looked up at the unabashed military jet overhead and smirked. Truly worthy of Mu Lin.

Even Mi Zheng hadn’t anticipated that Mu Lin would arrive in such a brazen manner.

Turning around, Mi Zheng walked back inside.

"They’ve arrived." Just as he approached the balcony, a person’s footsteps appeared, and a deep voice carried a trace of age and eeriness.

"Grandpa." With a respectful expression, Mi Zheng’s smile from a moment ago had vanished, as if it had never been there.

"Hmm." The man nodded coldly and told him, "Go, go and receive our ’honored guests’ properly!"

"Yes." After finishing his words, Mi Zheng nodded respectfully and then strode towards the downstairs.

Watching Mi Zheng’s retreating figure, the old man’s eyes darkened. He then stepped out onto the balcony, peering at Mu Lin and Jing Chen who were now arriving from the jet, and let out a cold hum, "Since you’re here, then don’t think of leaving." His aged voice carried a hint of a sigh, as well as a silent and indifferent undertone.

If Mu Lin were here, she could instantly recognize that the old man was none other than Tang Miao, the Family Head of the Tang Family, who had been embarrassed by her at the Royal Palace banquet.

But, why would Mi Zheng call Tang Miao — Grandpa?

This mystery, it seems, will soon be unraveled.

Could it be that his influence extends beyond the Gong Family? What about the other families?

...

Standing solemnly at the entrance of the mansion, behind Mi Zheng stood six black-clad men and women in formation, expressionless, their whole beings emanating a suppressed cold murderous aura. These individuals were SkyNet assassins who had not left the island or been on a mission before, and in their lifetimes, they would never leave this island.

Because they knew some secrets they shouldn’t — such as about Tang Miao, and about Mi Zheng! This was their fate.

Yet, in Mu Lin’s eyes, they were not up to par.

Why?

A real assassin would never let you easily detect the murderous intent on them. Generally, before you can even react, you’d probably have already met your demise; the truly formidable assassins are the type of people who could stand right in front of you, and you would never believe they were assassins.

Training, failed!

Looking at the girl in front of him, Mi Zheng’s eyes were filled with mirth, "It is indeed a pleasure to have you here." He gave Mu Lin an extremely gentlemanly gesture, while Jing Chen by her side was blatantly ignored.

No way around it, for in his eyes — there was only Mu Lin!

"Thank you." Mu Lin’s smile was gentle and playful, as if she really was just leisurely visiting.

Mi Zheng looked at her, "I didn’t expect you to arrive so soon."

"How could I dare forget the words conveyed by Young Master Mi at the Royal Palace?" Mu Lin referred to the message Mi Zheng had someone pass to her during their time at the Royal Palace.

Bowing slightly again, "I’m honored." Then, "This way, please, Linlin." While speaking, he stepped aside.

With a polite nod, Mu Lin took Jing Chen’s wrist and walked into the mansion.

It was a bit unclear whether, at that moment, they were walking into the Wolf Den or not!

As Mu Lin entered the hall, there in the center of the living room sat Tang Miao, already firmly seated, his eyes brimming with laughter as he looked at Mu Lin and Jing Chen, "What an honor for the Young Masters of the Gong and Jing families to visit this humble abode. Tang here is truly flattered."

Seeing Tang Miao, Mu Lin and Jing Chen exchanged a glance.

Unexpectedly, he was actually here. It seemed he had realized they were aware of all his dealings, or perhaps he was no longer prepared to hide them. Or should they say, he had made up his mind not to let them leave the mansion alive.

The latter seemed more likely.

"Long time no see, Tang Elder." Mu Lin, arm-in-arm with Jing Chen, approached Tang Miao and sat casually opposite him on the sofa, leaning back leisurely, not at all like a guest.

His smile stiffened slightly, taking this as Mu Lin’s disrespect. The next moment, however, he smiled again, "Truly worthy of the future Family Head selected by the Royal Palace, still so unrestrainedly dashing."

In a nicer light, it’s called unrestrainedly dashing; less generously, it’s called arrogance, lack of upbringing, and not following rules.

Too bad, Mu Lin didn’t mind at all and took it all as compliments, "Thank you for the praise, Family Head Tang. I really don’t think I deserve it! However, Family Head Tang is truly the role model in Mu Lin’s heart. I am here today specifically to see Family Head Tang."

A touch of seemingly embarrassed smile surfaced, "And to discuss a little issue with you, sir. I hope you — won’t mind."

"What issue?" Intrigued by Mu Lin’s words, Tang Miao raised his eyebrows instinctively; he was curious to hear what Mu Lin had to say, what she could say.

The next moment, only to see Mu Lin smile leisurely, her smile quickly changing, captivating and tender, "Family Head Tang, when will you — pay the rent?"
