Chapter 1066: Chapter 717: At Least Give Me Some Respect (Part 2)
"It’s nothing," Mu Lin chuckled lightly. "I just think that his appearance is indeed a bit too coincidental." He looked up at the elder. "Elder, it seems the real showdown is about to arrive."
It really should have ended earlier.
"You mean," the elder instantly thought of something, "these matters, are related to them."
Mu Lin nodded. "Very likely." He didn’t even need to think about it.
Currently, the Special Forces’ manpower was almost completely dispersed, and in this moment of seeking help, their intentions were clear as day.
Zhan Zhong’s brows furrowed tightly as he looked at Mu Lin, "Mu Lin, do you think this person is connected to them?"
Zhan Zhong was worried that this person seeking help might be one of the enemy’s pawns and that the injuries he now bore were nothing but a ruse to deceive them.
"I don’t think that would be the case." Mu Lin said, "Based on my years of experience against him, when he does things, he definitely makes it real." This meant that the recent matters concerning incidents within F Country that the elder had told him about were definitely true.
The elder and Zhan Zhong exchanged a look, both seeing solemnity in each other’s eyes.
If possible, they would rather this whole matter was fake; that this person was also fake.
If it turned out to be true, then real trouble was ahead; they would be caught between a rock and a hard place; Mu Lin knew what both men were worried about.
They were already caught in a vortex-like situation and taking on another whirlpool would only make it larger, making it harder to eliminate later; and what’s more, as the vortex expanded, the final result could be them being swallowed whole.
But without their help, a rift would then form with F Country; the friendship between them and F Country was deep, but even the deepest of relations required maintenance.
Some things were difficult to gather, but were extremely easy to destroy!
This was a dilemma indeed!
Mu Lin watched the elder, wondering how he would decide.
After about fifteen minutes passed, the person on the bed gradually awoke.
"Save... save..." The first word he uttered upon opening his eyes was to save, and it was clear whom he wished to save.
The elder and Mu Lin approached him, "You’ve been saved," Mu Lin said, his icy gaze surveying the man. The man looked at Mu Lin, puzzled. The Next moment, when he saw the elder beside Mu Lin, his eyes went wide, and he struggled to rise, realizing that previous visions weren’t dreams, he truly arrived!
He knew the elder well, having seen him several times before.
This man before him was the most respected and influential Leader.
He was saved!
His eyes filled with excitement, the elder sat down on the chair beside the bed and looked at him, "Everything’s fine now, no need to be agitated. Tell me the whole story clearly." Only then could he make a truly informed decision.
"Yes," the man nodded, then slowly began to recount the tale; the graver the elder’s expression grew, the more he spoke.
This matter turned out to be... a targeted attack with a purpose, and their motives were hardly a secret.
"I think I already have a good grasp on the situation," the elder nodded. The man looked at the elder, "Can you help us?" After all, the relationship between them was so strong.
At the present, nearly the entire F Country was under someone else’s control. As long as their president was in the hands of the enemy, they had no ability to fight back.
The adversaries were terrifyingly powerful, and even their country’s Special Forces would be no match against them.
He had tried, and the result...
All communication and surveillance had been cut off, his countless brothers had given up their lives covering for his escape, and now, he feared the worst for them; if they couldn’t get help, his country would truly be left to fend for itself.
The man was really anxious.
However, the elder looked at him reassuringly, "Rest for now. This matter is serious. Even I need to discuss it with my subordinates; it’s not something I can decide on a whim."
The man nodded, indicating his understanding; being close to the president, he knew well that such a matter involved many complications.
The elder then turned to Mu Lin, "Girl, come outside with me," and then he started walking out. Mu Lin exchanged a glance with Zhan Zhong, who nodded. She followed the elder out.
Outside.
"Girl, what do you think I should do about this?" Looking out into the open, the elder suddenly asked.
Mu Lin looked at the elder with a light chuckle, "Elder, haven’t you already decided?" Since a decision was made, why ask her? It seemed redundant.
The truth was, from the beginning, there had been only one choice, and those people also knew that the elder would never stand by idly... Listening to Mu Lin’s words, the elder laughed and sighed helplessly, "Are you so sure I’ve already made up my mind?"
Mu Lin leaned back against the wall behind her, "Isn’t there no other choice?"
At that, the elder choked up, "Give me some dignity at least." He cared about his reputation too.
Mu Lin burst into laughter, "Sorry, I’ll do better next time." Though she said this, there was not a hint of sincerity for improvement, leaving the elder speechless and exasperated.
Nevertheless.
"This Time, it looks like it’s going to be your turn to take action," he said. He truly had no other option.
