Mated at First Sight
Chapter 1047 - 702

Chapter 1047: 702

The Royal Palace was just as resplendent as ever, standing proud in B City, the capital, as if looking down upon everything else.

Mi Zheng got out of the car and immediately went to the back to open the door for Mu Lin.

"Linlin, please." A gentleman, courteous and cultured; these two words seemed synonyms for the man before her; in front of Mu Lin, he was always like this.

Even though Mu Lin had clearly come to know his true face, it was inconsequential to him.

It was precisely noon, and the flow of people coming and going was neither sparse nor crowded; Royal Palace, now B City’s largest entertainment venue, housed not only recreational facilities but also a hotel, a sauna, and, of course, the indispensable dining restaurant.

Mi Zheng’s stunning looks drew the attention of many passersby, especially women’s eyes; at that moment, everyone was curious to see what kind of woman could make such an outstanding man bend.

How do you know it must be a woman?

Hehe, what else could make an outstanding man do such a thing, if not a woman? Unless, the man is gay!

The man in question was indeed handsome, but that didn’t seem likely.

Soon, the speculation among the crowd was revealed.

Mu Lin stepped out of the car, stood up slowly, and lifting her eyes to glance at the Main Gate with a slight smirk, she teased, "To have a meal, I have to come to your territory, are you afraid someone else will take your money?"

Mi Zheng closed the car door and stood beside Mu Lin, "I just thought you deserved a pleasant dining environment; our Royal Palace is quite nice, actually." He wasn’t one to sing his own praises. So he made a welcoming gesture, "Please."

Without hesitation, Mu Lin stepped forward and walked inside, with Mi Zheng at her side.

The two soon arrived at the third-floor restaurant, probably because it was their appointed time, and were promptly led into Mi Zheng’s private room. Mi Zheng handed the menu to Mu Lin, "Linlin, take a look, what would you like to eat? Don’t be shy."

Mu Lin took the menu and flipped through it casually, "I think you should just order, Mi; I’m not picky." Mu Lin was indeed not picky, especially after becoming pregnant, which made her palate even more accommodating; besides, today’s visit wasn’t simply for dining.

"Alright then," Mi Zheng said with a smile, taking the menu back and casually ordering a few items before the staff respectfully withdrew to prepare the meal.

Everyone at the Royal Palace knew that aside from their boss, no one else could occupy this private room.

Although he was the head waiter, this was his first encounter with the legendary, mysterious boss in three years; he had thought it was a joke when the call came from upstairs, considering the boss hadn’t appeared in three years.

No wonder so many women were attracted to him; he was almost prettier than a woman. However, the woman sitting with him didn’t seem outshone in the least.

Previously it was said the boss was single. Could it be that this woman is his girlfriend now?

But the atmosphere didn’t quite seem like it?

His mind racing, he quickly left to make the preparations; he decided it was better not to be too curious, as one small slip could cost him his job.

The dishes soon filled the table, and Mi Zheng, ever the gentleman, helped Mu Lin to some food. However, Mu Lin didn’t even touch it but simply looked at him faintly.

"Speak. You specifically ambushed me at the Mall and threatened me with my mother. What is it that you want to talk about?" From the beginning until now, he seemed to have said nothing, simply watching her, leaving Mu Lin unable to decipher his inner thoughts.

Those eyes made Mu Lin’s skin crawl.

Mi Zheng put down his chopsticks and looked at Mu Lin, "You received my gift." It was an assertive statement.

Mu Lin nodded, "If you are referring to that small black bottle, I believe I did."

"Is there something you want to tell me?" he asked with a smile, "Or perhaps I should ask if you liked it?" Indeed, that bottle was quite exquisite.

"I don’t think you need me to answer that." She casually took the teacup in front of her, playing with it, brought it to her nose for a sniff, and then sipped it lightly.

Whether she liked it or not was never the important question. What mattered was that she understood the message he wanted to convey. Therefore, in Mu Lin’s eyes, him inviting her here for a meal was a superfluous act.
