Chapter 246: Chapter 165 Meteorite Fall, Terrifying Creature (Subscribe Please)_2
Qin Shou helplessly rubbed his forehead and said, "Xiao Bai, I approve your request to continue training now."
Leng Wanbai lifted her head, expressionless.
"Oh, allowed to train now? Training is so exhausting."
After speaking, she set down the task in her hand and sluggishly walked back to her room.
Qin Shou looked down and saw the fabric embroidered with an adorable Godzilla, nodding with satisfaction.
"Nicely embroidered."
...
The third night on Mars.
Led by the Four Little Saints, everyone headed to the surrounding craters to search for the Cockroach Beast Group and capture the Cockroach Beast King.
Meanwhile, Qin Shou stayed at the canyon base; the dormant Cockroach Beast Group should be manageable with the strength of Wang Sheng’s team.
As time passed, system notifications popped up one after another.
"Ding! Cockroach Monster slain..."
"Ding! Cockroach Monster slain..."
A string of notifications resounded, finally providing Qin Shou’s injured heart with some comfort.
Five thousand Synthesis Points; they should be replenished soon enough.
"Huh, meteors!"
At that moment, Leng Wanbai approached Qin Shou and pointed at the night sky where meteors streaked past the barrier. Her face was filled with curiosity.
"What’s the big deal!"
Qin Shou scoffed and casually pulled out a telescope, pressing his eye to the lens.
"Hmm, very interesting."
Leng Wanbai: "..."
"Do you have another one? I want to see the meteors too."
"Are you dumb? You can see meteors with the naked eye; why bother using this thing?"
"Then what are you doing?"
"I’m observing celestial bodies..."
Leng Wanbai’s face darkened—what kind of lunatic was this?
A moment later, Qin Shou suddenly put away the telescope, his face turning odd.
"Xiao Bai, don’t you think these meteors look a bit unusual?"
Leng Wanbai appeared thoughtful as her eyes fixed on the meteors streaking across the night sky, her brows furrowing.
"I have an ominous feeling."
All of a sudden, Leng Wanbai’s voice turned cold.
Qin Shou turned his head, and the Frozen Bone Eater consciousness quickly receded.
Leng Wanbai’s mind wavered for a moment as she saw Qin Shou staring at her. Unable to resist, she asked, "What is it?"
"Nothing."
Qin Shou shook his head—this person’s sudden mood swings were genuinely frightening.
"Look closely, there’s a meteor... it seems like it’s heading our way!" Leng Wanbai exclaimed.
Qin Shou raised his head and stroked his chin.
"Not heading towards us, but coming to Mars!"
Immediately, he released Big Big Wolf.
"Big Big Wolf, predict the impact location and time for this meteorite on Mars."
"Alright, my dear master."
Big Big Wolf grinned, revealing sharp teeth, and pulled out a computer device from behind, tapping away at the keyboard.
One minute later.
"Dear master, this great king has successfully predicted the trajectory of the meteorite’s fall..."
Before the sentence finished, Qin Shou waved his hand and pointed at the rapidly descending fiery meteor in the night sky.
"No need! Based on this, the impact site is not far from us."
Big Big Wolf laughed heartily: "Haha, dear master, you’re mistaken. Observing meteorite trajectories with the naked eye leads to substantial error regarding the actual impact location."
"Heh."
Qin Shou’s mouth twitched—if he were standing here, the meteorite’s impact site would undoubtedly be nearby.
If he didn’t move, he might end up crushed directly!
In moments like these, science is irrelevant.
The Death God Physique isn’t just for show.
"Xiao Bai, inform Xiao Sheng and the others to run in the opposite direction from me—get as far away as possible."
Having said that, Qin Shou retracted Big Big Wolf into the System Space before activating his Battle Armor Flying Device, swiftly flying to the left.
Though Leng Wanbai didn’t know exactly what was happening, she still followed the instructions.
...
"Boom..."
As Qin Shou flew at low altitude, he kept a close eye on the increasingly prominent fiery meteor overhead.
Within seconds, he felt a scorching heatwave approaching from above. The fiery meteor carried an unmatched pressure downwards like Tai Mountain Pressing, sending shudders through Qin Shou’s heart.
Looking at the meteor’s trajectory, sure enough, its impact site was precisely at the canyon base.
Fortunately, Qin Shou had now moved dozens of kilometers away from the base.
If he had trusted Big Big Wolf’s words, he might not have escaped in time.
Qin Shou secretly felt lucky as he dived towards the ground, seeking refuge in one of the crater pits below.
Moments later, the meteor struck; blinding fire erupted into brilliance, followed by an unimaginably loud boom that left Qin Shou temporarily deafened within the crater.
"Boom..."
Terrifying heat waves radiated outward, sweeping across hundreds of kilometers, kicking up a sandstorm of unparalleled intensity.
The ground trembled violently. Inside the crater, Qin Shou summoned the greedy snake and hid beneath its wings.
The heatwaves scorched the greedy snake’s skin, but its Undying Cells worked quickly to heal the damage. Nonetheless, the greedy snake could not help but let out a low growl.
Compared to leveling up inside Xiao Hei’s room, this pain was still bearable.
After an unknown amount of time, the sandstorm gradually subsided, and the greedy snake, completely intact, flapped its wings to rise from the dusty ground.
Qin Shou patted the dust off his Battle Armor and activated his communicator.
"Xiao Bai, are you all okay?" Qin Shou asked.
"We’re hiding in the Cockroach Beast King’s lair. Nearly got buried alive by the earthquake, but everyone’s safe," Leng Wanbai replied, her video screen showing shards of ice in her hair.
Qin Shou squinted at the distant horizon.
"This meteor is far larger than expected. Don’t come over yet—I’ll go check it out."
With that said, Qin Shou ended the transmission and flew toward the meteorite’s crash site.
When he was a thousand meters away from the crater, Qin Shou landed and summoned Kazek, who cloaked invisibly and headed toward the pit.
Soon, Kazek transmitted visuals from high above.
In the virtual view, a gargantuan pit several hundred meters wide appeared before Qin Shou.
The pit’s bottom glowed intermittently with fiery red light, black smoke rising incessantly, resembling the gateway to Hell.
As Qin Shou stared at the pit, his gaze grew vacant, as though his soul was being drawn in. Alarmed, he hurriedly shut off the video feed.
"Phew..."
He took a deep breath, furrowing his brow.
"Is this really a meteorite?"
As Qin Shou pondered, his camera attached to his waist suddenly began to react, as a sinister wind emerged from behind.
"Hrrk..."
A sharp screech rang out.
Instantly, Qin Shou inserted a card into the camera, and a wine-red Battle Armor enveloped him. A crimson horn emerged on his forehead, and electric radiance coursed over his entire body.
Turning around, he kicked!
"Boom!"
Energy burst in the void, leaving Qin Shou stunned.
Missed again?
"Hrrk!"
This time, an octopus-like creature suddenly leapt from Qin Shou’s right calf, aiming for his face.
"Pfft!"
The creature’s speed was incredible, so fast that Qin Shou didn’t even have time to react before it latched onto his face.
"Chirp chirp chirp..."
The creature’s slender and powerful tail wrapped tightly around Qin Shou’s neck, trying to force him to open his mouth and breathe.
But with his head protected by a helmet, the creature couldn’t find an opening and became frustrated, letting out sharp cries.
Qin Shou folded his arms, letting the creature pound futilely against his helmet.
"Don’t say I didn’t give you a chance—now it’s your turn," Qin Shou sneered, grabbing the creature from his face.
The creature was pale all over, roughly the size of a human face. Eight tentacles were like human finger bones, and its long, slender tail was astonishingly strong.
"Chirp chirp chirp..."
The creature struggled fiercely in Qin Shou’s grip, but its strength couldn’t match his, and its struggle proved useless.
Staring at the creature in front of him, Qin Shou’s heart skipped a beat, and a terrifying image filled his mind.
An indestructible exoskeleton, a bizarre elongated skull, a menacing mouth dripping corrosive slime, a body where every part was a weapon...
"Alien!"
This was a Facehugger!
Qin Shou was shocked and instinctively let go, dropping the Facehugger onto the ground.
But he immediately recovered, stomping the fleeing Facehugger into a pulp.
"Splat..."
Nasty liquid splattered on his leg armor, which hissed and emitted black smoke as it corroded.
The armor’s energy flickered, dispersing the smoke and acidic liquid.
Qin Shou’s expression darkened—how had this thing arrived on Mars with the meteors?
He was all too aware of how dangerous Aliens were.
Luckily, this was Mars, not...
Qin Shou abruptly lifted his gaze to the serene night sky.
Earlier, there had been so many meteors—they weren’t aimed at Mars.
Instead, their target was...
Earth!
