Master of Kaidan -
Chapter 236 Ignition
Chapter 236: Chapter 236 Ignition
According to Old Li, there were three challenges in the Condensing Fire Technique:
The first was how to completely and purely imprint oneself into the pure Identity.
The second was how to ensure that the Identity, marked with one’s imprint, did not get confused with the other Identities within the body once they entered it.
The third was how to compress these Identities so they could be ignited.
The most troublesome part for Feng Xue, while cultivating the Martial Arts True Form, was precisely how to scatter and then reorganize his will; otherwise, he couldn’t penetrate the crystal shell of the die.
This led to the unexpectedly smooth completion of the second step, which Feng Xue had initially thought would require considerable effort and might even waste several dice.
There was no pollution or diffusion to speak of. Those Identities entered his body and quickly grouped like a military lineup, gathering in formation on his Spiritual Platform Sea of Consciousness before the Bright Mirror etched with countless strange runes.
And the third step of compression was even more interesting.
According to Old Li’s guidance, not much Identity was needed to ignite the Kaidan Fire; even a single tower’s worth would suffice. The need for hundreds or even thousands of times the fuel was because the process of compression was so challenging to achieve voluntarily.
The usual method was to use the Identity provided by one’s entries and tags to bombard those marked with self-imprints. However, this often caused the outer layer to be contaminated with impure Identity, necessitating the constant discarding of polluted outer layers to avoid the spread of pollution, while the inner pure portion would be polluted again under bombardment.
Yet, preparing too much raw material outright wasn’t feasible either, because the larger the mass, the greater the power needed for compression. A small mass could hit the standard quickly, but if it was too massive, one might find that even after intense efforts, the force had not reached the core area.
Feng Xue initially intended to test it bit by bit, but he suddenly realized he didn’t need to bombard with Identity at all.
This was because the Martial Arts True Form could directly appear in the Sea of Consciousness.
In other words, he could "temper" this mass of Identity himself!
Within the consciousness space resembling a starry sky, five flames of different sizes and colors revolved around the Bright Mirror on the high platform like satellites, while before the mirror, a mass of cotton-like, fog-like Identity expanded and contracted slowly.
As numerous mysterious runes lit up on the Bright Mirror Platform, a faint shadow emerged in this space. The shadow slowly formed a human shape, which was Feng Xue’s Martial Arts True Form—the True Self.
In reality, the Martial Arts True Form was only a symbol of one’s Spirit Realm and hadn’t been harnessed to impact the material world. But in the spiritual world, it possessed significant influence.
Under Feng Xue’s control, the True Self’s figure suddenly expanded until the Bright Mirror Platform was no larger than a makeup mirror before him. He suddenly stretched out both palms, grasped the cotton-like, foggy mass of Identity, and exerted pressure.
It was originally the manifestation of Feng Xue’s "self," fully reflecting his imprint, and it was through the True Self that these Identities received their imprint; thus, having the True Self execute the compression not only deepened his imprint but also effectively prevented waste and loss.
This way, with just a few dozen towers, it could be compressed to the point of igniting flames.
Feng Xue came to this realization, though he didn’t attempt to divide this mass of Identity. After all, the more vigorous the initial flames, the faster the consumption of other flames.
"I should have tried organizing the kaidan about ’gripping coal with extreme force can create diamonds’ earlier."
Feng Xue continued to urge the Martial Arts True Form, applying more pressure to that mass of Identity, while in his heart, he couldn’t help but think of a certain pair of hands as a metaphorical Earth’s core furnace.
However, with Eastern Country being occupied by kaidan, it was uncertain if the freest cartoonist on the surface could even draw the path of the fatty. Moreover, after all, the principle behind this compression act was not yet clear to Feng Xue.
Was it a sustained and stable output of pressure like compressing charcoal into diamonds, or did it require a momentary high-pressure output, like a fire piston? This needed to be tested bit by bit.
In the consciousness realm, the True Form’s hands clasped together, completely enveloping the mass of Identity in the space between the palms. The fingers interlocked, and the body of the Martial Arts True Form pressed slightly downward before suddenly exerting force.
Supreme Martial Arts—the Big Clumsy Hand!
This was the most advanced external skill Feng Xue had mastered. Even his physical self couldn’t reach the threshold needed to cultivate it; however, for the Martial Arts True Form, knowing the principle was sufficient for execution.
Though it was merely a semblance, in the world of consciousness, the heart triumphed over the physical!
Only with absolute will could one unleash an absolute punch.
Over the past half year of cultivation and during the self-discovery journey, Feng Xue’s mental state had taken a qualitative leap.
Under the constant pressure from the Big Clumsy Hand, Feng Xue felt the mass of Identity in his grasp begin to heat up slowly. He didn’t know whether it was an illusion, but he did not cease his actions.
His Clasping hands tightened further, the temperature continued to rise, and slender threads of Identity leaked from between his fingers, transforming into a vast amount of "information," beginning to merge with Feng Xue’s consciousness realm.
Almost as if triggering a fierce fire trait, the five Kaidan Fires erupted with astonishing heat, even the smallest "people of Yan Country will all know martial arts," emitted a blazing white brilliance.
Although the Martial Arts True Form couldn’t perceive, Feng Xue felt as though he was inside a furnace, both internally and externally surrounded by terrifying pressure and heat.
The sensation was not like he was applying pressure to the Identity. Rather, it felt as if he was the one being compressed within a pair of fleshly palms.
An illusion?
Or was this how it was supposed to be?
After all, what was being compressed was Feng Xue’s own imprint; shared feelings seemed not impossible.
An immense fear surged into his heart, yet Feng Xue’s power continued to grow. Although he could clearly sense the pain and even his body involuntarily assumed a posture of bracing against heavy pressure, thanks to the Power of Martial, he could understand distinctly that his body hadn’t received any feedback.
This pressure wasn’t real!
As the palms continued to apply force, it was as if something began to shatter. More information overflowed from the palms, and near-death experience-like scenes almost unfolded before Feng Xue’s eyes. Yet, the True Form’s hands even began rubbing against each other, intensifying the force.
Skin tearing, muscles crushing, bones breaking...
Oddly, when the pain broke through a certain limit, Feng Xue became serene instead. He didn’t know why he was calm, only that when his consciousness detached from the pain, a flame was ignited...
