Chapter 203: Chapter 203 What is Called Fashion
"Although I planned to change my image, isn’t this look a bit too exaggerated?"
Three hours later, Feng Xue looked at the phantom object in front of himself, a conflicted expression on his face.
Good news: he had successfully created a second set of equipment, including weapons and clothing, according to his own needs.
Bad news: the style was a bit unexpected.
At this moment, Feng Xue looked like one of those handsome players who got a high-stats equipment in the game, but the outfit could only serve as a comic relief even if thrown into any playbook.
After mostly neutralizing the Omen Seeds (meaning to take them to reality and let them automatically disintegrate), Feng Xue finally picked up his new clothes. Without any surprise, this thing was supposed to be his uniform for his future ventures in Yan Country—
Name: Phantom Object·Unrestrained Fashion
Elements: [Clothing], [Fashion], [Trend], [Temperament], [Outfit]
Description: A legendary outfit said to be manageable only by those with exceptional temperament, untainted by any academic tinge or guidance. It’s a natural art born by coincidence, perfectly matching the wearer’s temperament to construct outfits and doubling it.
Note: The doubling effect of temperament is an independent multiplier zone; the good get better, the bad get worse, and the mediocre appear even more so.
...
This phantom object looked just like an ordinary T-shirt, but when worn, it transformed into a complete outfit including shoes, upper and lower garments, hairstyle, and a series of accessories which looked quite beautiful. Seemingly, it was an ideal "fashion" type phantom object for urban use, even generating a brand new outfit based on the wearer’s temperament each time it was worn.
However, the problem was that Feng Xue tried several times, and all the outcomes were randomly beggar outfits!
It’s not that Feng Xue’s temperament was too poor. In fact, when Feng Xue wore that ensemble composed of a patched coat, old cotton shoes, a broken belt, and an old T-shirt, he indeed possessed a unique temperament, appearing as if he had seen through worldly woes and endured great hardships. Even the patches on the edges of the clothes seemed like carefully placed embellishments, making one ponder if they had a thought-provoking past.
But how should I put it...
No matter how good the temperament, it’s still a beggar outfit!
Coincidentally, during today’s reforging, he produced two clothing-types of phantom objects, and the other one was even more infuriating—
Name: Phantom Object·Little Quilt
Elements: [Clothing], [Bedding], [Giving Up], [Ignore]
Description: A thin quilt with patches, though tattered, it’s clean, thoughtfully sewn with hidden buttons so it can be worn as a cloak. When someone asks you anything, you can simply respond with "Ah, right, right, right," after which they will stop paying attention to you.
Note: Use together with a catwalk for best results.
...
The moment Feng Xue saw this Phantom Object, she deeply suspected that her identity as a beggar in the South District rubbish dump had somehow influenced her transformation, resulting in this beggar outfit.
But upon closer reflection, a beggar’s outfit and a Martial Arts Master seemed quite fitting after all.
Wearing the "Sharp Brother Suit" and draping a Little Quilt over her shoulders, Feng Xue looked in the mirror and surprisingly found the look quite appealing.
The thick winter clothing reminded her of a military coat, perfectly torn to reveal tufts of cotton that evoked a desolate feeling of times gone by. The Little Quilt didn’t look out of place; instead, it added a touch of melancholy. Moreover, the Phantom Object even beautified her, transforming her long, uncut hair since arriving in Infinite City into a trendy, messy medium-length cut. Mysteriously, her chin now sported a poignant stubble.
The greatest touch was, feeling slightly mismatched, upon Feng Xue fastening the dark button of the Little Quilt, the "Unrestrained Fashion" spontaneously generated a red striped cloth belt around her waist, giving her the impression that "this thing is supposed to wrap up bedding." Yet, she had to admit, with such a suit and cloth belt, the ensemble really did match.
"What else can I say?" Feng Xue shook her head, suddenly feeling that her sense of aesthetics had been twisted for the second time since becoming a Masked Rider. The ideal of the white-robed, sword-wielding grandmaster drifted away, shattered in her mind. At that moment, she suddenly felt that a true grandmaster should look like this; despite the grimy stubble and tattered clothes, there remained a peculiar charm.
"Damn it!" Feng Xue gritted her teeth, picked up an Orca Pillow lying beside her, and just as she was thinking that it surely would be a "mismatch," her coat turned pink to match the bright color of the Orca...
It turned pink!
"A pinkish-green military coat, are you kidding me?!" Feng Xue flung the coat against the wall in disbelief, staring baffled at her appearance which now seemed like she had picked up a lady’s cotton coat, but the pale pink did not ruin the rugged unrestrained look; instead, it added a soft, tough-guy sentiment...
"I swear, Yan Country!"
Feng Xue felt her brain must have fool around to think this looked stylish, but according to the Phantom Object’s description, if she found the outfit "ugly," it meant her taste was below average.
"What should I do if I feel outsmarted?" Feng Xue sighed, feeling not too bad about the outfit, and inserted the Orca Pillow into a specially prepared strap on the back of the Phantom Object. There she stood: hair messy, dressed in a pinkish-green military coat and a knitted shirt, draped in a patched quilt cape, waist tied with a red-and-black striped cloth belt, a red Orca Pillow hanging on her back — the birth of a real Sharp Brother.
"Once you get used to it, it’s not too bad, right?" Feng Xue muttered to herself, finally accepting her attire, packing up a box of "Crystal Dice" and holding only two in her hand.
Her consciousness sank, and those twinkling lights seemed to shimmer in her heart.
With a clear mind as the Bright Mirror hung high, after embracing the demon-like attributes of power, Feng Xue’s heart gained another bright moon.
Feeling the three flames in front of the Bright Mirror Platform, Feng Xue slowly let go of her consciousness, feeling the twinkling currents of Current World Rules.
"Yan Country truly is Yan Country; there are indeed many with dreams of Martial Arts! But too young won’t do, children should focus on studying..." Feng Xue felt the information conveyed by each light point, and although she couldn’t read a person’s full life history like flipping through documents, using the ’thoughts’ power, she could roughly determine the person’s age, personality, and intensity of their obsession.
"That’s the one!"
