Bruno Rivera continuously shot for fifteen minutes until the prison cell finally fell apart. He was fortunate that neither cannon broke midway because the power output he used was proven to be too much for the present design, not to mention that one of the cannons received significant scratches from the annoying little beasts.

’Lady luck is still on their side.’ He thought as he walked into the prison cell.

The only thing that welcomed Bruno Rivera was the slumbering necromancer covered with a ghastly haze of death energy.

"You really protected your sanctity, huh? Well, if you did otherwise, then we would never stage this prison break," Bruno Rivera said. "But there is no way I will touch you in this state."

The S-class mentalist’s eyes lit up, and his powers swept through the air. "Wake up, Cardinal of Envy. We are here to rescue you."

His words are like magic words because after that, the revolving mass of death energy settled, and they immediately went back to Rin’s body. The necromancer’s omega’s body soon came into full view.

His claws embedded on his side, not a change or shift from his last fight against Shen Yuan. It is amazing how he remained alive all this time.

If it weren’t for his darkness affinity, which is the same attribute as the curse on his Mage-Killer claws, he would have died long ago.

"Ahhh!" For the first time after weeks of sleeping, Rin, the Cardinal of Envy, let out a pained gasp and opened his eyes. He quickly pulled out his cursed claws from his body and let out a string of curses.

"Fuck that Shen Yuan, ahhh! I suffered this humiliating defeat." Rin yelled in a shrill voice while holding his injury. He used his death energy to stop himself from bleeding out, but despite his considerably good condition, he is still pissed of his current state.

"Hearing that you are cursing like this means you are healthy. Don’t ask me to carry you out of this shithole," Bruno Rivera smugly said.

Rin shot him a dagger look. "You truly are an embodiment of laziness. All you needed to do was control a pathetic soul outside, and yet you are still looking for an excuse not to do it. Sloth, don’t push my buttons. I am already frustrated with my situation."

Bruno Rivera resignedly raised his arms with a cocky smile, "Hold up. I am making excuses at all. What I mean is, I don’t have any available mind slaves to do the lifting. All of the people I controlled are out of commission. Well, except for Mo Lihua."

He pointed at the female alpha, who was standing still outside the prison cell.

"But I am planning on using her to break our way out of this prison, so... it is either you crawl your way out here or you stop acting like a brat and walk."

"I fucking hate you. After this, go back to where you came from. You will be my first assassination target once I get better." Rin begrudgingly stood up. "The Hunter Association also captured an "apostle in training" a little while ago. Did you not free him? He is an S-class summoner. His insects would be useful in pulling off this prison break."

"If I were you, I would no longer waste time and energy on killing my precious Jin Chan. It was built with defensive and regenerative abilities that rival all known S-class boss monsters. We made it perfectly to be my extra life during fights."

"Shut up, you shit," Chairman Mao spat, gone is his carefree smile. His face is that of a predator who would settle for nothing but an absolute kill. He must admit that he is having a hard time beating the swordmaster before him because not only is the enemy’s ability a royal pain in the ass, but the tame beast’s presence also is a bother for his conscience.

Every time the toad cries to the ruthless attacks of its own master, it prods the soft spot of Chairman Mao’s heart.

’That is why I need to kill it for good,’ Chairman Mao whispered to himself.

"Azure Dragon’s Destructive Claws!" He conjured one of his major magics with a blink of an eye.

In an instant, tornadoes, clouds and rain formed a massive dragon’s arm. A crackling sound was heard from its claws due to ferocious lightning.

"So you’re finally using your named techniques! I thought you would drag on this fight without using even one major magic." Cardinal of Avarice snidely provoked the Chairman.

The longer this fight lasts, the better for him. He is only here to buy time for Sloth and Envy to break out of the Diyu.

Fighting and insulting Chairman Mao was just a consolation prize. There is no need for him to be so serious.

Laughingly waving his flexible blade in circles, the Cardinal of Avarice pressed further. "Let’s see. Let me taste the strongest magic of the Hunter Association’s Chair—"

The Cardinal of Avarice’s provocation was interrupted by the strong magic heading towards him. He underestimated the force of the attack and consequently lost his footing. He stumbled a few steps back, but with his grit and physical strength, he managed to regain his balance.

He desperately brandished his whip-like sword to parry Chairman Mao’s magic. He was successful as far as his sword’s reach was concerned. However, with a big magic that rivals his mountain-like toad, he was bound to miss some.

"Qwark!" Cardinal of Avarice’s Jin Chan opened its mouth to take some of Chairman Mao’s magic, as expected.

Everything is going well until Chairman Mao opened his mouth for another killer move.

"Azure Dragon’s Calamity Breath," He said once again. The mana in his hands swelled exponentially in a matter of minutes. And without letting the Cardinal of Avarice breathe, he sent it following the tail of his first attack.

"Are you emptying your mana reserve all at once, Chairman Mao?!" The Cardinal of Avarice hollered. He felt the soles of his feet tingling as warning bells started to blare inside his head.

He needs to dodge this one that is coming!

The Cardinal of Avarice jumped away from the path of Chairman Mao’s attack. He was quick but not quick enough to stop himself from getting injured by the condensed wind, water and lightning.

His shiny, black hanfu was shredded on the edges. He was also bleeding slightly. These minor injuries will be instantly healed if he lets his Plunderer’s Gold claim the blood of Chairman Mao or his Jin Chan.

He needed a quick fix, so he turned to his toad. That was when he realized Chairman Mao’s real target.

"Chairman Mao!" Cardinal of Avarice roared in anger.

But Chairman Mao paid him no attention. His eyes were fixated on the toad monster. "With this, you are finally freed from your master’s cruelty."

The innocent beast did not realise that the dragon’s breath was the last meal it would devour.

The Azure Dragon’s Calamity Breath is Chairman Mao’s second most destructive magic. It empties a quarter of Chairman Mao’s mana reserve in one shot, that’s why it is not comparable to the previous magic it devours. It is way beyond its limits.

"Qwark!" Jin Chan let out a miserable cry as its entire body swelled, and then, a loud explosion ended the toad’s life of suffering.

Chairman Mao quickly fried the blood and its remaining body parts using his lightning magic to prevent the Cardinal of Avarice from using it.

Strong magic after another, and a series of quick, decisive actions, these are what drove the Cardinal of Avarice to the corner.

"How was it? Do you like to experience more of my power?" Chairman Mao said. Ready to fire another Azure Dragon’s Calamity Breath, Chairman Mao fixed his stance.

Unfortunately, before he could even move, the entrance of Diyu opened up with an explosion.
