Martial Conquest of the Nine Desolates -
Chapter 131 - 129: Mandatory Training
Chapter 131: Chapter 129: Mandatory Training
The gathering place for the training was filled with uproarious laughter.
It’s known that the Training Guardians sent by the top ten Martial Arts Families in the County are at least at the Early Stage of the Innate Realm Eighth Layer, and the strongest, Hong Lie, is even listed on the Hidden Dragon List of the Black Dragon Country.
The young man standing at the forefront of the ten teams looked at Xiao Ye with a hint of disdain in his eyes.
Xiao Ye’s cultivation at the Mid Stage of the Innate Realm Seventh Layer was simply not impressive in front of them.
"Kid, didn’t I tell you not to speak recklessly!" Listening to the mockery around, Baili Yi stomped angrily, glaring fiercely at Xiao Ye.
"Just wait, when we return from this training, I’ll make you pay!"
Beside him, Baili Yan wore a solemn expression, shaking her head and sighing.
Xiao Ye’s gaze swept over the ten youths, his expression calm.
Although his cultivation was only at the Mid Stage of the Innate Realm Seventh Layer, his strength was enough to defeat the strongest Training Guardian, Hong Lie.
"My main task in entering the Cold Moon Mountain Range this time is to search for the Earth Spirit Root; there’s no need to argue with these people and cause further conflict," Xiao Ye thought to himself.
Before leaving the County Master Manor, Baili Wushang had given him a map of the Cold Moon Mountain Range, which also marked potential locations for the Earth Spirit Root.
He just needed to protect Baili Yi and Baili Yan while searching for the Earth Spirit Root, so he didn’t care at all for the ridicule around him.
After the uproar died down, eleven teams set off from the County, heading straight for the Cold Moon Mountain Range.
The Cold Moon Mountain Range is very close to the County, essentially the backyard of the County, and its scale is far from comparable to the Chongyang Mountain Range.
Since the level of ferocious beasts in the mountain range is not high, the Martial Arts Families of the County feel at ease allowing their juniors to train there while sending out Training Guardians.
Along the way, Baili Yi and Baili Yan both hung their heads, obviously still upset over Xiao Ye embarrassing them.
A little later, they finally arrived at the entrance of the Cold Moon Mountain Range.
"Haha, Baili Yi, Baili Yan, hope you don’t wet your pants in fear," laughed a chubby youth from the Hong Family team.
"Damn it, you’re the one who’s going to wet your pants!" Baili Yi growled in anger, his body trembling with fury.
The chubby youth smirked smugly, "With Brother Hong Lie here, there’s no place in the Cold Moon Mountain Range I can’t go. Do you think I’d be afraid?"
"Let’s go!" Hong Lie cast a cold glance this way before leading the way into the Cold Moon Mountain Range.
With Hong Lie leading, the other teams followed suit, giving Baili Yi a sympathetic glance before leaving.
"Damn it, these people are too much!" Baili Yi stomped angrily, glaring fiercely at Xiao Ye before reluctantly entering the Cold Moon Mountain Range.
"Sigh." The delicate and exquisitely crafted Baili Yan still held a solemn expression, having little expectation for this training, and followed along.
Watching their backs, Xiao Ye furrowed his brow slightly.
What is the true purpose of training?
It is precisely to allow these flowers from the greenhouse to experience the training of blood and fire as early as possible.
Yet these pampered boys and girls use the Training Guardian as a point of competition, completely straying from the original intent of training.
"Master Uncle Baili has been kind to me; I must help Baili Yi and Baili Yan," Xiao Ye said with a profound smile, then leisurely walked in.
...
After entering the Cold Moon Mountain Range, each of the eleven teams scattered, heading in different directions.
The training period is one month, and many are secretly competing to see which team can kill the most ferocious beasts within this month.
Baili Yi and Baili Yan hadn’t been in the Cold Moon Mountain Range long before a wolf-like ferocious beast appeared. It was half the height of a person, with dense fur, looking majestic, and rushed towards them with a roar.
"Wind Wolf, a Ferocious Beast of the Postnatal Second Level!"
Baili Yi’s face turned pale, quickly drawing his longsword, while Baili Yan was even worse, letting out a scream and hiding behind Baili Yi.
Seeing this, Xiao Ye frowned.
He had long known that Baili Yi and Baili Yan both had cultivation at the Postnatal Realm Third Level; it should be easy for them to kill a Wind Wolf.
Xiao Ye said nothing, standing quietly to the side to watch.
Whiz!
Baili Yi, steeling himself, practiced a set of swordsmanship combat techniques, quite powerful, and engaged in battle with the Wind Wolf.
"Die!"
Baili Yi roared, thrusting his sword, but was struck on the arm by the Wind Wolf’s paw, losing his aim and staggering back several steps.
"Roar!"
The Wind Wolf howled again, charging forward and knocking Baili Yi away.
"Brat, aren’t you going to help!" Baili Yi, crashing to the ground, raised his head and shouted angrily at Xiao Ye.
"You need my help to deal with a Ferocious Beast of the Postnatal Second Level?" Xiao Ye replied coldly, his tone full of disdain.
Hearing Xiao Ye’s words, Baili Yi became furious: "Damn it, I don’t need your help. I can deal with this beast myself!"
With that, he picked up his sword again, and resumed fighting with the Wind Wolf.
After a little over half an hour, the Wind Wolf fell howling into a pool of blood. Baili Yi’s pale face showed a trace of a smile, then he looked at Xiao Ye with pride.
But Xiao Ye’s words froze the pride on his face.
"With Postnatal Realm Third Level cultivation, you took so long to deal with a Wind Wolf, and you’re proud of that?" Xiao Ye said coldly.
He had been watching the battle and was very disappointed in Baili Yi’s performance. The other was like a flower in a greenhouse, with pathetic combat experience.
Bear in mind, when he was at the Postnatal Realm Third Level, he could leap levels to kill a barbaric beast at the Postnatal Realm Fourth Stage. Meanwhile, Baili Yi, having enjoyed countless cultivation resources since childhood, could only display such power. It showed how indulged Baili Yi was by Baili Wushang, to an alarming degree.
Baili Wushang, after all, was an expert nearing the Innate Limit, yet his grandson was so weak; Xiao Ye was speechless.
"Damn it, I can’t stand you anymore!" Baili Yi shouted in anger, gripping his longsword and lunging at Xiao Ye.
Clang!
Xiao Ye’s expression remained cold; he flicked a finger against Baili Yi’s sword, sending it flying from his hand.
"You think having a powerful Training Guardian means you can breeze through this month?" Xiao Ye’s eyes flashed with cold light, "Next, I’ll show you what real training is!"
With those words, he reached out, grabbing Baili Yi and Baili Yan one in each hand, and strode deeper into the Cold Moon Mountain Range.
"Brat, what are you doing, put me down, or I’ll end you and your family!" Baili Yi shouted, struggling relentlessly.
"Wah wah, you’re a bad guy. I’ll have grandfather kill you when we get back." Baili Yan sobbed.
Soon, a ring-shaped valley appeared in Xiao Ye’s sight.
"This should be where the Iron-Armed Monkeys are active," Xiao Ye thought, recalling the markings on the Cold Moon Mountain map.
The Iron-Armed Monkeys are Ferocious Beasts at the Postnatal Realm Third Level, incredibly powerful, perfect for Baili Yi and Baili Yan to train against.
Bang!
Bang!
Xiao Ye tossed them into the valley, then coldly stepped in.
"Damn it, what are you doing!" Baili Yi climbed up from the ground, glaring furiously at Xiao Ye.
"Nothing much, just letting you train here," Xiao Ye replied coldly.
Baili Yi and Baili Yan’s faces changed dramatically. Just then, dozens of monkeys appeared in the valley, their scarlet eyes fixed on the pair menacingly.
One glance showed at least over a hundred.
"You... you’re trying to kill us!" Baili Yi’s scalp tingled, his voice trembling, while Baili Yan was already crying in fear.
Xiao Ye raised an eyebrow; having them confront over a hundred Iron-Armed Monkeys at once was unrealistic.
Rumble!
Xiao Ye erupted with powerful energy, his terrifying Innate True Qi materializing into a massive hand that blasted a cave into the cliff side of the valley.
Then he left one Iron-Armed Monkey, driving the rest into the cave and sealing it with boulders.
After completing this, Xiao Ye said coldly, "Kill this Iron-Armed Monkey at the Postnatal Realm Third Level, and you’ll get food."
He then forcibly took their food and sealed the valley’s entrance, then sat quietly nearby, keeping an ear out for activity in the valley.
If Baili Yi and Baili Yan truly were in danger, he would undoubtedly save them.
In the valley, Baili Yi and Baili Yan felt icy cold, watching the Iron-Armed Monkey advancing relentlessly.
"Brother... what do we do?" Baili Yan, tears streaming down her face, asked shakily.
Baili Yi’s hand trembled as he gripped his sword. He gritted his teeth and said with determination, "Damn it, I’m at least at the Postnatal Realm Third Level; I can’t let that brat look down on me!"
With that, he charged at the Iron-Armed Monkey, roaring.
Baili Yan bit her silver teeth and followed.
Together, after half a day, they succeeded in killing the Iron-Armed Monkey.
The moment the Iron-Armed Monkey fell, Baili Yi looked at his hands in disbelief, "I... I actually killed a Ferocious Beast at the Postnatal Realm Third Level?"
"Fatty Hong always boasts in front of me about how awesome he is, but does he dare fight a Ferocious Beast at the Postnatal Realm Third Level?" Baili Yi exclaimed with excitement.
Baili Yan was equally incredulous.
They had been pampered in the County Master Manor, never imagining a day would come when they could slay powerful beasts with their swords.
"To truly earn respect, one must be innately strong," Xiao Ye appeared at the right moment, speaking.
Bang!
His words were like a ray of light piercing into Baili Yi’s heart, enlightening him. His eyes shone with unrivaled brilliance, as if he had become a different person.
"I understand now. Next, let me try killing an Iron-Armed Monkey on my own!" Baili Yi declared resolutely.
Seeing Baili Yi’s demeanor, Xiao Ye knew he had had an epiphany.
Since Baili Yi was so inspired, Xiao Ye would naturally comply. Once Baili Yi and Baili Yan recovered their strength, with a wave of his hand, he released two more Iron-Armed Monkeys from the cave.
A fierce battle ensued once again.
"This kid might even become a powerful figure in the future," Xiao Ye remarked, smiling lightly as he looked at Baili Yi, then turned and walked out of the valley.
"I must also hurry to find the Earth Spirit Root," Xiao Ye thought to himself.
His one-year agreement with Zhao Qian was drawing nearer.
