Chapter 191: Robed Era.

Chapter 189

Once Era arrived at her room, she rushed to have a bath. Good thing no one was around, at least they did not get to see a blushing Era.

She had the entire chambers to herself to enjoy at will. Ot being the lazy queen, she filled her bathtub, got into it and relaxed, hoping that cold water would help her calm down.

"Come off it, Era. You need to get your mind in order," she chided herself, but how could she come off it when her mind and lips bore the constant memory of their kiss together?

All she wanted to do was just enjoy it.

She was in constant denial about how she felt. She wanted him to do more to her. Kiss her more and more till she could not take it anymore but she just could not betray her family and do that.

In all her despair and anguish, aside from seeing Ora again, his kisses were what brought life to her life. It gave her untold happiness and whenever she recalled it, she felt butterflies move in her stomach and she wanted nothing more than to retain that feeling.

Too bad he always got naughty and turned on most of the time, else she would have gottten the chance to enjoy more of his kisses.

Even with her inside the tub, her face was still heated from her naughty thoughts. She reached up, covered her face with her hands before she lowered herself totally into the tub, immersing till her head was covered completely.

After some seconds, she rose back up, taking in deep short breaths and then did the same thing. After about five minutes of repeatedly soaking herself, she finally came out to relax.

"Ah, Vidor, look at how you have made me. I really should refuse seeing you for the time being to get my sanity back."

When she was done, she decided to have lunch but her maids were nowhere in sight. Not wanting to fully get dressed and parade herself in the castle, she picked up some of the fruits left for her and munched on it while sitting in nothing but just her robes.

No sooner had she begun, than a clear knock resounded on her door,

"Can’t a girl have some rest?" Era muttered under her breath before going to see who it was. "A minute."

She strode forward, forgetting herself in her robes and went to unlock the door.

Once open, she was shocked to see Lord Damian there. Feigning her anger, she crossed her arms in front of her chest and waited for him to enter.

Click! He shut the door close but he refused to look at her direction. Not understanding why he did that, she pouted at him and waited but after about two minutes she still did not get any favourable words from him.

"Lord Damian, I believe you did not come here to stare at my wall. Look,at me and answer me. What has brought you here?"

"I cannot lllok at you p, your majesty, but pardon my rudeness, your grace. Good afternoon. I came here to speak briefly about the assembly."

"I won’t hear it unless you turn around."

"How can I turn around when the King’s wife is dressed in nothing but a bathrobe."

"Wha..." pShe did not finish her words when her eyes traveled down to explain and she noticed she was still in her robes.

How was that possible? She thought she had picked out an outfit but it turned out she didn’t and was busy with the thought of Vidor’s lips that she forgot.

"Yikes!" She turned around swiftly and dashed for her bed chamber, drawing the drapes with her to cover herself. "Sorry!" Era yelled out her apology to him.

"Hehhe," he chuckled out a bit. She wasn’t prepared for that one bit. Thankfully her robe was well covered else his conscience would have hurt him.

"My apologies, your majesty!" Damian yelled out to her.

After three minutes, she emerged from her bed cha,her, fully clothed in one of her gowns. His eyes went wide when he saw her in the silk blue gown she wore that hugged her body tight from her chest upwards before freely falling down to her toes.

She had not bothered with packing her hair and left it to cascade down her body. She had her eyes lowered as she made sure to avoid eye contact by all means when she stepped in front of him.

"Wow, you look breathtaking in that gown of yours, your majesty. I bet his majesty would live Thais sight so very much," Damian remarked.

She could not tell why but it was one of her gowns she had brought from Meribia. The material was Meribia made and it loooked like a thousand stars had fallen on the lovely gown, making her shine and stand out.

"Thank you."

"Ahem!" He cleared his throat and smiled at her. "My apologies your grace. I just thought I should let you know about your outfit, just so you know."

"No worries. I was the one at fault. Please, do have a seat." She gestured for him to take his seat and led him there. As soon as they had their seats, Damian began. "I would go straight to the point so I can give you your space."

"Thank you." That was all she could think of saying at this moment. Not because she did not have loads to say but she just wanted to speak less this this awkward moment was over.

"First of, your majesty, you are about the ages of my two daughters. I would neve think naughty about you and also, I take you like my own child. So worry not."

"Thanks."

"Now, why I came over. It is as regards the assembly. I noticed how angry you were at Vidor when he was refused to deal with Caspian."

"Yes."

"You need not be angry. I believe he is a wise king and knows what he is doing."

"Yes. We spoke."

"Good."

"I have one question though."

"Ask away, your majesty."

"Why did you say I was in love with Vidor to all those people?"

"I knew you would ask me that." He smiled at her.

’As though you aren’t in love with your husband? If you haven’t realized that by now, it is because you are too deep in your evened so you only think you hate him but with what happened the other day, anyone could see how much you cared for him. I won’t push you. I would allow the Ming fight his way to your heart and make you open up to him as your heart craves for.’

"Lord Damian. Lord Damian?"

"Huh?"

"I was asking you wh6 you said that," Era repeated again.

"Yes. I did to save you from their clutches. At least if they knew how much you liked the King and he, you, then I believed it would keep them in a corner for now."

"I see."

"Yes. Luckily, Vidor could see what I was trying to do and he supported me."

"Hmm." She placed her hand in her jaw as her mind entertained his words, sifting and sieving through it till she got what she wanted. "Hmm, what did you and Vidor discuss when you went to his chambers?"

"Nothing much. He scolded me. He was pretty angry about me keeping it a secret from him and I explained to him why. I thought it wasn’t necessary seeing as I told him you were safe but Vidor being Vidor, he got angry."

"Just that?"

"Yes. Or where you expecting something else your majesty?"

"No, nothing."

"Okay. If that is all, I would take my leave now."

"Thank you. That would be all."

She proceeded to accompanying him to the door before xpclosing it behind him.

She heaved a deep sigh once he was gone. All through she had her heart in her mouth out of embarrassment. Thank goodness her robe was a long one, else she wou,d have been so ashamed.

Moving towards their balcony, she picked up an apple and went to stand close to the railing, to bask in the lovely sun.

At the same time, Vidor came out of his room too to watch his people. By now she had not yet seen him and allowed her mi d go astray with thoughts of him.

Seeing her, he drifted his gaze from the people in the city and allowed her gaze enjoy the dazzling sight of his wife. The lovely blue dress she wore made her skin shine some more and even mesmerizing than she was when she came for the assembly.

Rather than shy away, he allowed his mind drift to the time of their kiss and how much her lips tasted. Slowly, he found himself reminiscing again and wishing for more as though she was right beside him, smiling at him the way she smi,Ed at the sun.
