Married To The Blind Alpha -
Chapter 56: Hailey’s Mate
Chapter 56: Hailey’s Mate
It had been a week since her wedding with Damien, and after getting married, Hailey had stayed back in the Shadow Moon pack for that week at Damien’s request before finally pressuring him to take her to his place.
Late last night, Damien had sent her an address, and on getting to the villa, she was welcomed by a maid who led her to her room, and a frown etched on her face when she saw how colorful the room looked.
She looked at the maid who had led her into this room and asked, "Is this where the Alpha room is?"
The maid looked at her, confused, wondering what she was asking.
Hailey sighed as she realized that she was speaking to a human and then rephrased her question, "Is this Damien’s room?"
The maid shook her head and replied, "Sir Damien’s room is at the other end, and besides, he rarely comes here."
"What do you mean he rarely comes here?"
"Sir Damien is a businessman, so he usually just stops by twice a week or even four times a month."
Hailey scoffed, and without saying anything, she carried her luggage out of the room and back into her car, ignoring the maid who kept asking her where she was going.
Hailey entered her car and dialed Damien’s number. His phone rang, and then the call ended.
Angry, Hailey called his number again, and this time his voice was heard over the phone. "I’m busy. I thought you would understand that the moment I ended your call."
"When you agreed to marry me, you forgot to mention that you wish to make me rot in one of your villas."
"What are you talking about?"
"I do not wish to stay in your villa. I am now your Luna, and as such, I will live in the pack house. You won’t lock me up in a villa as if I’m your hidden mistress." Hailey said and ended the call. She started the car and drove away.
....
At the Crestfrost Pack, Damien angrily slammed down his phone on his desk, prompting his Beta, Jazziel, to ask.
"Are you alright?"
"It hasn’t been a week since I married her, and she is already getting on my nerves." Damien replied.
Jazziel sighed and asked, "Are you saying this because she is really getting on your nerves or is it because of a certain red-haired woman?"
"Don’t start, Jazziel." Damien warned.
Jazziel ignored his Alpha warning and continued, "I am still amazed at how your childhood friend became the wife of Tristan Grant."
"You mean how Tristan trapped her into a marriage at a vulnerable point in her life. I know Aria; she would do anything for her grandmother, and I’m sure Tristan used that to force her into a marriage with him."
"But you said it yourself, she was looking well. More beautiful than the last time you saw her. If her marriage with Tristan is really a misery for her, then you would have seen it."
"Aria is the type of girl that is capable of hiding her pains."
"Or maybe there isn’t any pain at all, and you are just angry that she isn’t pining over you like she did two years ago. You are angry because she was able to move on without you in her life."
"She hasn’t moved on. I will always be a part of her life, and this I know for certain."
Jazziel looked at his Alpha and best friend and said "When Gemma died you were broken and blamed yourself for not being able to save her and then you began this mad quest of being known as the most powerful alpha in the world and I’m not saying that I won’t be with you till the end but all I’m saying is that, if you decide to make the mistake of filling the void in you with a new obsession names Aria, you will only get hurt. If Aria is truly your friend as you have always told me then, you will do the best for her."
Damien clenched his fist and said, "Getting her out of this marriage with Tristan is the best for her."
Jazziel laughed and shook his head. "As your beta, I will agree to whatever decision you make, but as your friend, I will tell you this. If you end her marriage with Tristan after using her to find out Alpha Tristan’s secret, then I assure you that she will never forgive you."
Damien looked away and refused to say anything.
Jazziel sighed and only hoped that this stubborn man would take his advice and let things be.
The study was filled with silence until a phone ringing tone pierced through the silence.
Jazziel removed his phone from his pocket and answered it; he looked at Damien as he replied to the caller, "Let her in."
Damien frowned as he asked, "Let who in?"
"Your wife, Hailey, is here."
"And you allowed her in without my permission?"
"She is your wife and this pack Luna; sending her back is a clear disrespect to her, and doing that will make the entire pack disrespect her as well. Do not forget the reason you married her; your duel with James for the Alpha title is less than two weeks away. Concentrate on that."
"Lead her to a room far away from mine."
Jazziel stood up and said, "Understood. Since I couldn’t attend the wedding, it will be my first time meeting her; hopefully she is as nice as she looked in her pictures."
Damien scoffed and let out a soft remark, "She tries to be."
"There is no helping you," Jazziel said and left the study.
The pack house of the Crestfrost Pack was located in a huge estate, and in that estate were different houses. There was the house for the Alpha, which was a mansion; the house of the Beta, which is the second biggest house; and then the Gamma.
The size of each house depends on their position at the pack, and the only people who lived together were the Omegas. Two separate buildings for males and females were built for the Omegas, who mainly work as servants to those above them.
As Hailey passed through the various buildings with her car, she was amazed at how big the pack was. It was so much bigger and more beautiful than the Shadow Moon Pack. She wondered why her heart was racing and why her wolf was jumpy; maybe it’s because they will soon meet Damien.
Hailey stopped her car at the biggest building because she knew that even though things were built differently here, one thing still remained the same: the Alpha always got the biggest building.
She came down from her car and was able to knock on the door of the mansion when it opened, and a guy with a charming smile came out; however, what caught her attention was the way he smelled; it was different, so different, almost as if he was her
"Mate." Jazziel whispered in shock as he stared at the girl in front of him. This has got to be a joke! There is no way his Alpha’s wife was actually his mate.
Hailey stood frozen at the door, her eyes widened as she heard exactly what he had called, and her wolf, as if to confirm his words, kept chanting, ’Mate, mate. He is our mate, Hailey.’
"You...." Hailey didn’t even know what to say.
Jazziel closed the door behind them and said, "No one must know about this."
"But....."
Jazziel’s voice became colder as he said, "You are my Luna, my Alpha, and my best friend’s wife, so the best thing for us is to keep our mouths shut."
"Are you going to reject me?"
"I can’t think right now. I don’t know what to do at the moment; all I know is that no one must know that we are..."
"That we are mates." Hailey completed the words he was finding it difficult to say. She has always looked forward to finding her mate, but never did she think that her mate would end up being her husband’s best friend. Life really has a way of treating her cruelly.
Jazziel ignored the pull he was feeling towards her and said, "You and I are nothing. And once I reject you, what we feel will no longer exist."
"Then reject me. Do it right now, before I step into that house and begin my Luna role."
"I can’t, not right now. Do you have any idea how painful a rejection is? What will I say if Damien comes here after hearing your shout?
"Is that all you care about? You don’t even feel a thing for me."
"Let’s not begin a conversation that won’t lead to anywhere. You and I are impossible, and rejecting each other is the only way forward."
Hailey scoffed and replied, "Well, too bad, because I just changed my mind. I won’t be rejecting you, and I won’t give you the chance to reject me either."
Hailey gave him her car keys and said, "My luggage is in the car."
Jazziel watched as she entered inside the mansion and then angrily cursed out loud. He had a feeling that this won’t end well.
