Married To The Blind Alpha
Chapter 19: Not Much Time Left

Chapter 19: Not Much Time Left

Curious about where she was, Aria stood up from the bed and walked to the window, and the view that welcomed her was that of a beautiful garden.

"So he likes flowers?" Aria muttered to herself. She knew a little about flowers thanks to her grandmother, who had a little garden at their backyard

The door to the room suddenly opened, and Aria turned her head to see Tristan looking at her with his golden, glowing eyes, but why does she feel uneasy with the way he is looking at her? He didn’t look angry, but Aria felt like his aura had changed.

"Can you cook?" Tristan asked.

"What?" Aria asked, surprised by Tristan’s sudden question.

"Cole just called me to tell me that my cook can’t make it to prepare dinner, so can you cook?"

"Um... yeah, I can cook. I will make dinner for us." Aria said with a smile.

"Great, I will show you to the kitchen."

Tristan said with a smile and allowed Aria to leave the room, first.

The moment she left the room, his smile dropped and his eyes became distant.

....

Back at the Shadow Moon Pack, Hailey stood before her father and brother as they kept asking her questions about Aria.

"So you are saying that Alpha Milton gave her a bottle of pills that can kill Tristan in less than three months?" Jacob asked to confirm what he just heard from his daughter.

Hailey nodded and confirmed, "Yes."

"Do you think she will do it?" Liam, her brother, asked.

Hailey thought back to how quiet Aria was during the drive back to the dorm and said, "I think she will."

Jacob sighed in relief and said, "That is good. You must ensure she does not stray from her path."

Hailey wanted to argue, but she knew there would be no use, so she bowed her head and whispered, "Yes, father."

"You can go to your room now." Jacob said, and as soon as Hailey left her father’s study, she could hear her brother’s laugh from inside the office.

Why were her father and brother acting strange? Is her father only interested in Aria because of Alpha Milton, or is there something else to it?

.....

KIRHA VILLA

After showing Aria the kitchen, Tristan had excused himself to go take a shower, and as the water moved from his head to his body.

His mind travelled back to his first life, to the first time he had met Aitana.

As an Omega, she was sent to his chambers to give him food after he had come back victorious from a war that lasted for two years.

The moment he laid his eyes on her, he knew she was his mate, and no matter the times she had refused him because of their different status, he would always find a way for them to be in one room together. Their mate bond was so strong that not having her near him would turn him into a madman.

But now, he couldn’t feel a mate bond with her but the pull he have towards her, the way her scent still have the power to make his knees weak and the urge to mark her whenever they would kiss, felt stronger than a mate bond.

"What will you do if she is a spy for Alpha Milton?" Zolan suddenly asked, interrupting his thoughts.

Tristan sighed and flipped his hair backward before replying, "Nothing."

"She lied to you. Those pills contained wolfsbane, and I could smell magic on them. They aren’t for her grandmother." Zolan growled.

Tristan got out of the shower and went to the bathroom mirror to look at himself. Both he and Zolan have always been different, and if there is one thing Zolan hated, it was being lied to, and that is exactly what Aria was doing.

She was lying to him. He knew she was lying when she said she fell in love with him at first sight; he knew she was lying when she said she wanted to marry him for money; he knew she had approached him with an ulterior motive, but he didn’t care. He still married her, and no matter how many times she would lie to him, he was still going to love and protect her.

"Zolan, if she is truly a spy for Milton, then that means one thing."

"She has been sent to kill you."

"But why? Why did Milton choose a girl who has no pack, no wolf, and who is no different from a human? How did Milton know that I would be drawn to Aria?" Tristan whispered, his golden eyes staring right back at him through the mirror.

"What if someone told him?" Zolan asked.

"But who? Who else apart from Suzette knows what Aria means to me? I need to find out the person who is trying to use Aria as a pawn to get to me." Tristan said and soon after started coughing.

Once again, his palm was covered in blood, and he could hear Zolan saying, "Your cough is becoming more frequent, and I am becoming weaker. At this rate, I doubt if we are truly going to last for a whole two years."

Tristan didn’t say anything; he just washed his palm and brushed his teeth before leaving the bathroom.

After getting dressed in a turtleneck black sweater and sweatpants, Tristan came out of his bedroom to see Aria placing the food on the dining table.

He looked at the food and noticed the way her hand was trembling as she placed the food on the table.

Despite the suspicious thought that was running through his mind, he still walked towards her with a smile and said, "The food smells so good; you must really be a great cook."

Aria let out a nervous smile as she watched Tristan sit at the head of the table and take a bite of her food.

Tristan was about to take another bite of the food she had made when he suddenly stopped and looked at her.

Aria’s heart dropped when he suddenly looked at her. Why did you stop eating? Has he perhaps found out the truth?
