Chapter 65: Chapter 65: Acting as if You’ve Never Seen a Woman Before_1
"Are you doing it or not?" Ji Yunhuan furrowed her brows.
Qi Cheng steadied himself, suppressing his desire for her, and reached out to help zip her dress.
Ji Yunhuan had a tall and slender build, effortlessly carrying the wedding dress designed specifically for her. Or rather, there was no dress she couldn’t pull off.
Knowing she would look stunning in it, Qi Cheng still couldn’t help but stare in awe.
His fiery gaze surprised Ji Yunhuan. "Everyone says Mr. Qi never pays attention to women. Why do you seem like you’ve never seen a woman in your life?"
She always seemed to wonder how to ruin his mood or make him unhappy.
As expected, Qi Cheng’s expression turned cold.
He turned away, leaving only his silhouette.
She couldn’t be bothered to please him, so she called a maid to help her out of the wedding dress.
The staff arrived after an unpleasant breakfast. The Qi Residence was large, offering various backdrops. They had nine sets of wedding photos to shoot, plus eighteen sets of special costumes.
Even the second sister-in-law, for some inexplicable reason, stayed with them throughout the photo sessions.
They shot from ten in the morning until six in the evening, every day for several days in a row. Even the iron-willed Ji Yunhuan got tired.
For her, it was more exhausting than working several part-time jobs because she had to stand next to Qi Cheng and act affectionate.
Chenchen, like a little leader, couldn’t have any doubts.
During a break, Ji Yunhuan sat on the sofa, having endured the discomfort all morning.
She hunched over, trying to endure the pain, until a cup of warm water was handed to her.
She reached out to take it and looked up, seeing Qi Cheng standing in front of her.
"Thank you."
Qi Cheng sat down beside her, looked at her, and couldn’t help but mock, "Ji Yunhuan, I’ve never seen a woman still suffer from menstrual pain."
"..."
"Do you still think you’re an unmarried young girl?" He looked at her disdainfully.
I am a young girl.
Ji Yunhuan thought to herself.
Of course, she wouldn’t tell Qi Cheng.
She was sure Qi Cheng disliked her and avoided her because he cared about her past with Gu Yubai. The more he cared, the less she would tell him.
She took a sip of water, the warmth flowing into her stomach.
"None of your business!"
"Ji Yunhuan, don’t you think your attitude towards me has been a bit strange lately?" Qi Cheng looked at her curiously. "Can’t you be a bit more gentle with me?"
"Gentle?" Ji Yunhuan glanced at him disdainfully. "Do you deserve it?"
A complex emotion flashed in Qi Cheng’s eyes. He felt somewhat aggrieved. "Aside from you, no one dares to treat me like this."
He humiliated himself like this to please a woman, yet she still didn’t appreciate it.
Ji Yunhuan gave him a look. "You can go find those women who are gentle with you! Why talk to me?"
There were plenty of women willing to please him; she wouldn’t make a difference.
"Don’t think I won’t dare!"
"What wouldn’t Qi Cheng dare?" Hadn’t he stayed with Xie Xingwei for so many days? Why pretend to be innocent now?
Their eyes met, hers filled with arrogance and disdain.
Seeing this, Qi Cheng felt a surge of disappointment and quickly turned to leave.
Ji Yunhuan rested for a while before continuing with the afternoon shoot, but Qi Cheng never appeared.
The second sister-in-law asked, "Yunhuan, why are you alone? Where’s Qi Cheng?"
"I don’t know."
"He’s being too willful. We only needed to shoot for one more afternoon to finish." The second sister-in-law said frustratedly.
Besides wedding photos, there were many other things to prepare for the wedding.
The wedding date had been set urgently. Qi Cheng’s mother didn’t want to delay it until winter, which would be uncomfortable for the bride.
Qi Cheng had agreed.
Who knew he would drag progress here.
"Housekeeper, come here." The second sister-in-law called the female housekeeper not far away.
The female housekeeper came over, "Second Madam."
"Where is Qi Cheng? Go find him!"
"I came to say, Mr. Qi said, no more photoshoots for today."
"How can that be? The weather forecast says it’ll rain tonight. What’s so important it needs postponing? Wasn’t everything fine this morning?"
The female housekeeper glanced at Ji Yunhuan and cautiously said, "Sir said, the wedding is off."
"..." The second sister-in-law was stunned, completely clueless about what Qi Cheng was doing.
Ji Yunhuan was also shocked, knowing he was genuinely angry.
Many wedding invitations had already been sent out. If he canceled now, Ji Yunhuan would undoubtedly become the biggest joke of City A.
Reflecting on her earlier attitude, she admitted she had lost control today.
No matter what he did with other women, it was his business.
She never intended to be with him forever, so why care?
"Where is he? I’ll go talk to him!"
She couldn’t afford a battle of wills with Qi Cheng.
Furthermore, Chenchen was still in the Qi Residence. Any disturbance would reach his ears.
The female housekeeper, aware of Qi Cheng’s anger, nodded and led Ji Yunhuan to find him.
In the massive swimming pool, Ji Yunhuan followed the housekeeper inside, only to see Qi Cheng diving into the water like a fish, swimming further away.
Several maids stood guard by the pool. Seeing Ji Yunhuan, they politely greeted her.
Ji Yunhuan stood by the pool, watching him swim away, as if he would never come back.
Luckily, her worry was unnecessary.
Qi Cheng soon swam back.
He skillfully climbed out of the water and casually glanced at her face, then coldly looked away.
A maid quickly handed him a large towel. Despite the indoor heating, it still felt chilly coming out of the water.
Qi Cheng took the towel, draped it over his shoulder, and sat down on a resting chair nearby.
The female housekeeper said, "Young master, young madam is here."
"Go call Yan Shen to see me." He said.
"Sir, why call Attorney Lu?" The housekeeper asked.
"Why?" He glanced coldly at Ji Yunhuan. "To divorce, of course!"
The female housekeeper looked at Ji Yunhuan in shock and said to Qi Cheng, "But the wedding..."
"Since she thinks this is a mistake, I shouldn’t perpetuate it." He said coldly.
Ji Yunhuan never expected Qi Cheng to make such a decision.
She walked up to him and looked at him. "Qi Cheng, that’s not what I meant. I admit today was my fault. It was my bad attitude. Apologizing like this won’t solve the problem, will it?"
"Your fault?" He gazed at her mockingly. "Ji Yunhuan could never be wrong. I was wrong from the start for ever setting my sights on you."
He claimed to hate her but hated himself even more.
Though she had disdainfully told him to get lost, he had been too gutless to seek out other women.
