Chapter 388: Chapter 388: Tender Moments in the Manor (1)_1

Ji Yunhuan gently tried to push him away. "I want to sleep."

"No way." Qi Cheng tightly held Ji Yunhuan.

"You’re so overbearing, you know that?"

"Who told you to say things that make me unhappy!" He always thought about being with her, but she always thought about leaving him.

Ji Yunhuan sighed. "But I’m very tired."

"I’ll hold you while you sleep." He coaxed.

Ji Yunhuan closed her eyes. In his arms, she couldn’t fall asleep at all.

But luckily, after a while, Qi Cheng finally placed her back on the pillow.

The night was very quiet, without a single noise. Probably because Qi Cheng was beside her, Ji Yunhuan found herself sleeping exceptionally soundly.

--

The next day, Bai Liyan, who had gone out, also hadn’t returned. Ji Yunhuan called him, and he said he had something to do and stayed overnight in the city.

Ji Yunhuan was forced to stay with Qi Cheng. She couldn’t use Bai Liyan as a shield, nor could she use previous incidents to provoke Qi Cheng. As soon as she mentioned something, he would kiss her without a word.

She felt helpless.

Another fresh morning arrived. It had rained before dawn, leaving the entire estate with a damp, fresh smell.

Ji Yunhuan was still lying in bed. Qi Cheng got up first and opened the window, allowing the fresh air to rush in.

He stood by the window, took a breath, and then returned to Ji Yunhuan’s side, asking her, "Do you want to sleep a bit more or get up?"

She leaned against the pillow, looking at him. "Sleep a bit more."

"You little lazy pig." He smacked her on the butt.

Even though it was through the quilt...

Ji Yunhuan couldn’t help but hit him back, of course not too hard. "Don’t always touch me."

"I touch you because I love you. I wouldn’t bother with anyone else."

"So I should thank you?" Ji Yunhuan rolled her eyes at him.

Qi Cheng smiled, his gaze falling on her lower abdomen. His hand slowly slid down as he spoke to her, "Yunhuan, when our second child is born, I will definitely stay by his side, so don’t drive me away anymore."

Hearing Qi Cheng’s words, Ji Yunhuan felt a slight stiffness.

Thinking of the child in her belly, and remembering Qi Cheng...

She didn’t want to be with Qi Cheng, always wanting to drive him away. But his words touched her, making her think of Yangyang, who hadn’t been able to live with her since childhood.

She nodded, her voice soft. "Okay."

"Really?" Qi Cheng’s eyes lit up with joy as he reached out to pull her into his arms. "You’re really not going to drive me away?"

"Yes." Ji Yunhuan nodded and then added, "Besides, even if I drive you away, you wouldn’t leave."

Since he was going to stay anyway, might as well make him feel a bit happier.

Qi Cheng smiled, pressing himself back onto her and holding her in his arms. "Good wife."

"..." Ji Yunhuan looked at him, her hand slowly tracing his eyebrows and eyes. "Qi Cheng."

"What?"

"Why are you so good to me?" Obviously, she had driven him away so many times and hurt him so many times. Why did he always stick around no matter how heartless she behaved?

He held her hand, kissed the back of it. "Don’t you like it?"

"I’m not worth it." Her voice was very low, filled with sadness.

Before, when she looked at Qi Cheng, all she felt was disgust. Now, all she felt was helplessness and sorrow.

This man was not perfect and always made her angry. But he always tugged at her heart.

Qi Cheng smiled faintly. "You’ve had children for me, not just one but two. How are you not worth it?"

"There are so many women willing to have your children. As long as you’re willing, they’ll do anything for you." Having children was just her duty as a woman, something she should do.

She didn’t think she was better than other women, and she knew well that she wasn’t a good woman.

"Are you telling me this because you want me to kiss you?" He raised an eyebrow, pretending to kiss her. Ji Yunhuan quickly blocked him, "Can’t you keep your hands or mouth to yourself for one day?"

"Who told you to always say things that make people unhappy?"

Ji Yunhuan looked into his eyes. "Xie Xingwei’s child is really not yours?"

"So you’re still doubting that?" Qi Cheng sighed in frustration. "I assure you, it’s not! Really! I could never let her have my child."

If Xie Xingwei really had his child, that child would have been aborted long ago.

"But I still don’t believe you." Ji Yunhuan looked at him with disdain.

Qi Cheng reached out and held her tightly. "I swear, if that child has anything to do with me, then I’ll never see you again."

"What kind of oath is that?" She smiled helplessly but still held his hand.

Let it be!

Even though he hadn’t deceived her just once, and although her heart had been wounded more than once, she still couldn’t help but want to believe him this time.

Half an hour later, Ji Yunhuan was washing up, while Qi Cheng was in the room tidying the books she had read the night before.

Butler Liu came and knocked on the door.

Qi Cheng opened the door. "Uncle Liu."

"Mr. Qi, you have a visitor."

"A visitor?" Qi Cheng frowned.

Ji Yunhuan had already come out of the bathroom. "Who is it?"

"I’ll go take a look." Qi Cheng glanced at her, walked over, and kissed her. "Wait here."

"Okay."

Ji Yunhuan was still in her pajamas. Qi Cheng walked out the door.

She closed the door and changed into her clothes. Unable to contain her curiosity, she went downstairs.

At the entrance of the living room stood two men in black, looking very serious. Ji Yunhuan walked in, and they didn’t stop her. Once inside, she saw her second brother, wearing a smart suit and glasses, sitting on the sofa with Qi Cheng, looking very cold.

He looked up and made eye contact with Ji Yunhuan. "Yunhuan."

"Second brother." Ji Yunhuan nodded politely.

She hadn’t expected her second brother to suddenly come here. It seemed he was here to see Qi Cheng.

For sure, Qi’s mother knew Qi Cheng was here with her and wouldn’t be assured. Given Qi Cheng’s personality, he wouldn’t go back by himself, so she must have sent her second brother in person.

This also meant how much Qi’s mother hated her being with Qi Cheng.

Qi Cheng turned around, looking at Ji Yunhuan. "Why did you come down?"

He didn’t want Ji Yunhuan to appear here.

Ji Yunhuan walked over to the two of them. "You have a visitor. I just wanted to come and see."

Ji Yunhuan sat beside Qi Cheng and noticed his serious expression.

Her second brother looked at her and said, "I’m here to ask Qi Cheng to come back with me. Yunhuan, you wouldn’t mind, would you?"

Her second brother suddenly throwing the question at her surprised Ji Yunhuan. She looked at Qi Cheng again. Although she had always been persuading him to go back, if she nodded and said she didn’t mind, it would definitely hurt Qi Cheng.

Qi Cheng didn’t give Ji Yunhuan a chance to respond, only saying, "I don’t want to go back for now."
