Chapter 382: Chapter 382 Seeking Her Forgiveness (5)_1
Qi Cheng followed her over and sat beside her. "Are you willing to trust me now?"
Maybe because she had listened to his explanation, Ji Yunhuan’s heart felt a bit lighter. She wished it were true and hoped he hadn’t lied to her. But until she confirmed it herself, she didn’t want to blindly believe.
"So what if I trust you? Right now, you are the person I hate the most. I won’t forgive you for almost harming my child." She turned away, refusing to look at him.
Even if other things were misunderstandings, this matter was definitely not one.
Qi Cheng asked, "Did Xie Xingwei tell you she was pregnant with my child?"
"Yes."
"She told you she was pregnant and that the child was mine?" Qi Cheng’s voice had turned cold.
He had ignored Xie Xingwei since then. He couldn’t imagine she would be shameless enough to lie outright!
Ji Yunhuan gave Qi Cheng a sidelong glance. "If you hadn’t touched her, with her personality, she wouldn’t have falsely accused you."
"Do you think she is a good person?"
"She’s not Xia Duo. She’s so timid. When you and I were together later, she didn’t even come out to cause trouble." Ji Yunhuan looked at Qi Cheng. "Ultimately, you wronged her. You were the one who approached her first. And she loves you. Yet you handed her over to another man. Qi Cheng, don’t you think you went too far?"
Ji Yunhuan’s words made Qi Cheng fall silent.
He was angry that day.
If Xie Xingwei hadn’t provoked him, he wouldn’t have acted that way.
...
Ji Yunhuan propped her chin on her hand and looked at the sea of flowers in front of her, not wanting to talk about unhappy things. "The scenery here is beautiful."
"If you like it, I’ll plant flowers for you in City A too." He looked at her tenderly.
Ji Yunhuan rolled her eyes at him. "I’m not interested."
"Yunhuan." He gently held her hand. "Please trust me. No matter whom I wronged, I would never wrong you."
"You’ve already wronged me." She couldn’t help but chuckle. "I told you that night. If I lost the child, I wouldn’t forgive you."
"But the child is still here."
"Bai Liyan saved the child. From now on, this child belongs to Bai Liyan and has nothing to do with you. When the child is born, I’ll make Bai Liyan the child’s father."
"You can make him the godfather." He and Bai Liyan were friends. Bai Liyan being the child’s godfather would be nice.
Ji Yunhuan snorted at Qi Cheng’s words. "A real father! If you really want, you can be the godfather."
Just thinking about being the godfather to his own son was unacceptable to Qi Cheng.
"This child is mine!"
"No, it’s not."
"You just admitted it." Her earlier words had admitted that the child was his, that she was angry because he wanted to abort the child.
His voice was full of hope. Ji Yunhuan didn’t want to lie anymore and nodded. "The child is indeed yours."
"Then you and Bai Liyan..."
"Bai Liyan and I..." Seeing how concerned he was, Ji Yunhuan turned her face away, "Bai Liyan and I have slept together. I didn’t lie about that."
"When?" He felt Ji Yunhuan was lying to him.
"You even want to know that?" Ji Yunhuan looked at Qi Cheng. "Aren’t you afraid it’ll hurt your heart?"
"I don’t care. Tell me! When?" Rather than staying in the dark, he preferred to know clearly.
"I don’t want to tell you." Ji Yunhuan lowered her head.
Qi Cheng reached out and hugged her waist, pulling her into his arms. "I know you’re lying. Yunhuan, you and Bai Liyan haven’t done it."
"..."
"Right?" Seeing her silence, he smiled. "I knew you wouldn’t wrong me."
Ji Yunhuan gave him a fierce look, unable to stand his smug expression. "I said we did. You just don’t believe it."
"No, you didn’t."
"Then tell me, how do I know he has a birthmark?" Ji Yunhuan didn’t know why, but she wanted to win this argument.
Qi Cheng’s eyes turned cold.
Ji Yunhuan could feel his displeasure.
She sighed and looked at him. "You see? You want me back, but you still care about my past with other men. And what about me? Don’t you think I would care? Human hearts are the same. So, don’t force me to do things I don’t want to do."
"Fine." He buried his face in her shoulder. Because it was summer, her dress exposed her shoulders. Her skin was smooth and delicate, carrying a scent he liked. "You smell so good."
Ji Yunhuan asked, "What did you mean by ’fine’ just now?"
"I won’t force you to do things you don’t want to do." He held her tightly. "If you don’t want to come back to me, so be it. I’ll stay by your side."
"..." Ji Yunhuan’s mind whirled. "Qi Cheng, do you take me for a grade-schooler? Tell me, what does that have to do with anything?"
"Of course, it matters. All I know is, whether you accept me or not, I will stay by your side. I know you need me, the baby needs me too." He gently brushed her hair back from her face. "Your hair has grown longer. Don’t cut it this time."
Ji Yunhuan grabbed his hand, not wanting him to touch her. Being so close, the atmosphere was too intimate, and it made her uncomfortable.
She knew she hated him and shouldn’t be with him. He had a fiancée. But when with him, her heart was uncontrollable.
...
In the living room of the manor’s main house, Lin Xiang sat on the sofa, watching Bai Liyan peeling fruit beside her. "They went out together. Brother Liyan, are you really okay with it?"
Bai Liyan glanced at her. "What’s there to worry about?"
"Is Ji Yunhuan’s child really Brother Qi Cheng’s? Not yours?" Lin Xiang was still skeptical about this.
She absolutely didn’t want to believe Ji Yunhuan was carrying Qi Cheng’s child.
"Yes." Bai Liyan seemed calm.
Lin Xiang didn’t buy it. "You must be lying to me!"
"Why would I lie to you?" Bai Liyan found it amusing. "Do you think I would lie about the child being Qi Cheng’s?"
"The child must be yours." Lin Xiang stated firmly.
"Why do you say that?" Bai Liyan bit into the kiwi he had just peeled and found Lin Xiang’s words funny.
Though he understood Lin Xiang’s feelings for Qi Cheng.
Lin Xiang said, "You must be afraid Brother Qi Cheng would hurt the child, so you lied to him on purpose."
"I don’t need to do such things. If the child were mine, I would protect it without tricks!" Bai Liyan explained calmly.
Lin Xiang found it hard to believe. "Ji Yunhuan is your fiancée! She’s carrying someone else’s child. You would still marry her and treat her so well? Don’t you care at all?"
