Chapter 380: Chapter 380 Seeking Her Forgiveness (3)_1
Qi Cheng sat on the side, without any intention of leaving.
Bai Liyan said, "I’ll have someone bring you something to eat."
As soon as he finished speaking, a servant came up with a fruit platter. Two plates full of fresh fruit were placed on the table in front. Ji Yunhuan reached out her hand, but before she could get it, Qi Cheng had already handed her a bunch of fresh grapes.
Ji Yunhuan gave him a glance but didn’t take it. Instead, she accepted the fragrant pear that Bai Liyan handed over.
Qi Cheng looked at her unhappily. She clearly preferred grapes but chose to take something she didn’t like from Bai Liyan’s hand.
This continued for some time.
Qi Cheng stayed by her side every day, trying to show off.
Ji Yunhuan never gave him a good look.
She wished she could avoid him, but he was too clingy.
Sometimes Bai Liyan would follow Ji Yunhuan, but other times, he would do his own thing.
Qi Cheng had many opportunities to be with Ji Yunhuan, but it didn’t seem to help.
Ji Yunhuan threw up in the bathroom for a while and came out, just in time to run into Qi Cheng at the door. He looked at her with concern. "Are you okay?"
"It’s none of your business." She walked away coldly to the other side.
Qi Cheng followed behind her, looking at her angry face but no longer mentioning the apology.
Bringing it up again would be digging his own grave.
She wouldn’t listen. She would only despise him more.
Ji Yunhuan wanted to go for a walk. As soon as she got on the tour bus, Qi Cheng followed.
Damn!
She glared angrily at the annoying guy. "Get off!"
"I don’t feel safe letting you go out alone."
"I can take care of myself. I don’t need your meddling!" She looked at him with disgust.
Qi Cheng thick-skinnedly smiled, "Just think of it as meddling. You can pretend I’m not here."
The tour bus was already moving.
Ji Yunhuan wanted to get off but was too late.
Qi Cheng sat beside her, "Why do you hate me so much?"
"You know why."
"I didn’t even do anything!" Qi Cheng looked at her. "Yunhuan, is it wrong for me to love you this much? Even when I thought you had something to do with Bai Liyan, I still wanted you back by my side. Was I really wrong? Since the child is mine, why do you still ignore me?"
Ji Yunhuan said, "You misinterpreted Bai Liyan’s words. He just said the child might be yours."
"You’re telling me this now, but I don’t believe it." Qi Cheng asserted, "He said the child is mine. It’s mine."
Ji Yunhuan couldn’t help rolling her eyes, "If he didn’t say that, would you have let me and my child go?"
Qi Cheng’s face stiffened. That seemed to be the case.
"You’ll know once the child is born." Ji Yunhuan looked at the surrounding scenery and said, "I didn’t expect you to be so easy to fool. One sentence, and you believed it."
"I wanted to believe," Qi Cheng said. "I wished we never fought, and I hoped Bai Liyan never got involved. Do you understand how I feel? I just love you too much."
"Then if I say I’ve already slept with him, would you not care?" Ji Yunhuan looked coldly at Qi Cheng. "Can you really pretend it never happened? He’s your best friend."
When Ji Yunhuan said this, a deep hurt flashed in Qi Cheng’s eyes. He looked at Ji Yunhuan in disbelief. She spoke as if it were true.
Ji Yunhuan saw him silent and looked at him too.
When their eyes met, she could feel the painful struggle in his eyes.
Ji Yunhuan said, "I know you care. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have wanted to get rid of my child."
Qi Cheng suddenly seemed to make a decision. He tightly held her hand, "As long as you are willing to come back to me, I can pretend nothing ever happened."
His response made Ji Yunhuan’s eyes flash with astonishment.
She looked at him in disbelief. He was actually willing to go to such lengths?
"Qi Cheng..."
He suddenly leaned in, intending to stop her from saying anything more heartless.
He tightly wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her lips. His breath was hot, but his lips were faintly cool.
Ji Yunhuan didn’t struggle. She knew clearly that the power imbalance meant struggling was futile, and she was concerned about the child. Having just been discharged from the hospital, she didn’t want to end up back there by night.
The summer breeze blew gently.
Qi Cheng slowly let her go.
He stared into her eyes. "If you say something to make me angry again, I will punish you like this."
Ji Yunhuan glared at him. The driver was still in front. She didn’t know how to talk to him at all.
She pushed him away, sat up straight, turned her head to look out the window, and refused to look at him.
Qi Cheng’s hand reached over and tightly clasped hers, his voice filled with deep helplessness. "I’ve never loved a woman like this before. I know you have wronged me, yet time and again... I find excuses to forgive you, hoping you’d come back to me. But you never care about any of this. Maybe, in your eyes, you can’t even see what I do for you."
Ji Yunhuan remained silent.
The wind kept blowing in her ears.
She didn’t want to hear his voice but couldn’t escape it.
She didn’t want to acknowledge him, but his voice still kept coming through.
Qi Cheng said, "The last time I ran into you at the restaurant, I took you to the hospital. I was worried sick about you. I feared something might happen. It never crossed my mind to let your child die. Even after knowing you carried his child, I wanted to forgive you. But you care so much about the child. I just told a little lie, and you hated me so much. You really hurt me!"
"..."
"...I initially thought I could never forgive you and had given up on you. But when you came to the house, I couldn’t help it. Seeing you with Bai Liyan, the pain was unbearable. Later, Bai Liyan told me a lot, and I started finding excuses for you again. I wished you would leave me, not through your fault, not by your choice, but because you had no other way. But you? You wished I were dead. Isn’t it the same this time? When I went to your room, you thought I was there to stand up for Lin Xiang? I was only angry with you when I decided to marry her; I never cared about her. She said you hit her. Without even asking, I went to look for you. Was it because I didn’t believe you? No, I wished you had hit her. I wished, from the bottom of my heart, that you cared about me. Unlike what I saw during the day, where in your heart and eyes, there was only Bai Liyan."
"I..."
She tried to speak, but he interrupted her, "Every time I appear in front of you, I find ridiculous excuses for myself. But you? You find every excuse and way to let me go, don’t you?"
