Chapter 342: Chapter 342: Pregnant with the Second Child (5)_1
"Do you think that while I’m here, I would let you get rid of it?" Qi Cheng’s voice rose by two decibels.
She seemed to have made up her mind, leaving no room for negotiation. Qi Cheng became infuriated as well. Although what had happened that day was his fault, the child was innocent. Adult matters did not need to be taken out on the child.
Ji Yunhuan glared coldly at Qi Cheng, her aura not yielding in the slightest.
Qi Cheng understood too that being tough with her was not the solution. He softened his voice. "Let’s go back now. I can’t guarantee the past, but in the future, I will treat you well. For the sake of the child, give me another chance."
Ji Yunhuan forcefully shook off his hand. Thinking about Xie Xingwei also being pregnant with his child, tears streamed down her face. "There’s no chance, Qi Cheng, we have no more chances. This child, I am definitely going to get rid of him!"
Qi Cheng was stunned by her tears for two seconds, then reacted. "Why do you always have to be so willful? When will you ever consider things from my perspective? Two years ago, I begged you so much, and you were cold as iron. You dare say you have no regrets? Since we missed out once, why do you want to make the same mistake again? I love you, but my patience has its limits."
Qi Cheng looked at Ji Yunhuan with pain. He had tolerated so much for her that he felt he had become a different person.
Ji Yunhuan laughed lightly. "Then don’t tolerate it anymore."
"No matter what you say today, I won’t let you get rid of the child." Qi Cheng’s attitude was firm. "I’ve suffered once and I won’t stand by idly and watch you make another wrong decision like two years ago."
His domineering manner left Ji Yunhuan at a loss for words.
She felt that the distance between her and this man was indeed too far. Even with Xie Xingwei pregnant, he could remain so calm while saying these things to her.
Just what did he think of women?
She spoke sadly, "What if I told you that this child isn’t yours?"
Qi Cheng paused, his voice hoarse, and looked at her. "Ji Yunhuan, are you crazy?"
She could even say something like this!
"The child is Bai Liyan’s. I’ve already slept with him." Ji Yunhuan didn’t know what she was saying either. Anger clouded her thoughts, and she didn’t want to leave herself any retreat.
At this moment, she only hoped Qi Cheng could give up completely.
Maybe this was the only way to make him give up.
Qi Cheng stared at her in disbelief. "Ji Yunhuan, you’d better not joke about this. That’s enough!"
"Do I look like I’m joking?" She stood up. "You can be with other women, why can’t I find other men?"
"I won’t believe a single word you’re saying right now." Qi Cheng knew Ji Yunhuan was acting impulsive.
Ji Yunhuan, however, reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist. Qi Cheng paused, staring at her in confusion. He felt her fingers lightly pressing a particular spot on his body. "You’re Bai Liyan’s best friend. You should remember he has a butterfly birthmark here."
Feeling Qi Cheng’s body stiffen, she explained, "...If the child were not his, if I hadn’t slept with him, how would I know about this? Don’t you think so?"
That spot was usually covered by pants and wouldn’t be visible. Ji Yunhuan had seen it by accident when she walked into Bai Liyan changing clothes one day.
As she spoke, she looked into Qi Cheng’s eyes.
She knew that without evidence, he wouldn’t believe her.
What she said was the most convincing evidence.
Hearing Ji Yunhuan’s words, Qi Cheng’s eyes went cold. He looked at Ji Yunhuan and asked in disbelief, "Did you really sleep with Bai Liyan..."
Did you sleep with him?
He couldn’t say the last few words. Just thinking about such a scene in his mind made him almost collapse.
Ji Yunhuan neither admitted nor denied it.
But she didn’t look like she was lying!
"You disgusting woman!" Qi Cheng reached out and coldly pushed her away.
He thought about the time when he was sick and almost touched by Xie Xingwei. He felt so disgusted that he soaked in water all night, just to appear clean in front of her.
He had done things that wronged her before meeting her.
Once she entered his heart, he didn’t want to commit any betrayal against her. But what about her?
She actually slept with another man behind his back!
And that man was his best friend.
Imagining this, Qi Cheng nearly went mad.
He wanted to raise his hand to hit her, but his hand stopped mid-air. Facing her resolute expression, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.
He loved her. Loved her so much that he couldn’t bear to hurt her even slightly.
But she cruelly ripped his heart to shreds.
...The hand suspended in the air slowly fell.
He pushed Ji Yunhuan aside, gave her one last disappointed look, and turned to leave.
Watching his disappearing figure in the corridor, seeing his face on the brink of despair and collapse, Ji Yunhuan, who had exhausted almost all her strength, sank back into her chair.
The medical staff around her had been watching for an unknown amount of time. She didn’t care.
A nurse came out from inside and called her name. Ji Yunhuan looked at the medical record in her hand.
"Are you really going to get rid of the child?" The nurse asked, seeing that she seemed hesitant.
Ji Yunhuan was actually not sure.
Arguing with Qi Cheng left her in a very bad mood, but it also made her even more uncertain.
There was no hope for her and Qi Cheng.
Without him, without Yangyang, she had nothing left in this life.
If she got rid of this child, what would she have left?
Seeing her silent, the nurse kindly advised, "Every child is innocent. They have the right to come into this world. You are 27 years old now. If you’re capable of raising the child, you should try to have him. To get rid of him would be the cruelest act, depriving him of the right to be born."
The nurse’s words completely shattered the small bit of resolve Ji Yunhuan had left.
Her gaze dimmed. "I think I need more time to think."
"Then take your time to think it over," the nurse said with relief. As a woman and a mother, she understood the significance of children to their mothers.

Coming out of the hospital, Ji Yunhuan sat on a wooden bench in the garden for a long time. It was summer, the blazing sun overhead. She didn’t know how long she had been sitting there until an umbrella appeared above her, shielding her from the sun.
Ji Yunhuan looked up and saw Bai Liyan standing before her.
"What are you doing here?" Ji Yunhuan asked, puzzled.
Bai Liyan held up the umbrella and sat down next to her. The bench was scorching hot. "It’s so hot. Sitting here, do you want to bake yourself into dried fish?"
