Chapter 329: Chapter 329: The Child is Her Everything (2)_1

"I told you I’m not!" Yangyang twisted his body with force. Qi Cheng kept emphasizing this so much that Yangyang was so anxious he started to cry. "I already told you I’m not. I am my dad and mom’s child."

"But I am your dad, and Yunhuan is your mom."

"No, you’re not. You’re bad people." He was in such a hurry that he couldn’t even speak clearly, wanting to prove his ’innocence.’

After all, what child doesn’t live with their parents from the moment they’re born?

He had been living with his second brother and second sister-in-law for so long. Suddenly, he was told they weren’t his biological parents.

Any child would find it hard to accept such a fact.

It was like being taken away from the parents you loved the most and forced to call two strangers ’dad’ and ’mom.’

Yangyang’s tears fell in big drops. This was the second time Qi Cheng saw him cry today, and he cried even harder than he did back at the Qi Family house.

Qi Cheng sighed helplessly, "Alright, you don’t want to hear it. I won’t say it for now."

"I want to go home. I want to find my dad and mom." Yangyang, who had always trusted his ’uncle,’ was now experiencing a trust crisis. Qi Cheng had deceived him once before, and now it was happening again. He really couldn’t take it anymore.

Qi Cheng looked helplessly at his son in his arms, "Didn’t you listen to anything I just said?"

"Let go of me." Yangyang wriggled in Qi Cheng’s arms. Despite his small size, he was strong, and Qi Cheng was afraid of hurting him.

He sighed and placed Yangyang on the seat beside him.

When the car passed by the square, Qi Cheng instructed the driver to stop.

He got out of the car holding Yangyang’s hand and walked towards the square.

There was a grassy area over there and a large tree that shaded the entire grass, like an umbrella.

It wasn’t quite the height of summer yet. The air was just warm, but not unbearably hot.

Qi Cheng held Yangyang’s hand, who pouted and seemed very unhappy.

Qi Cheng saw a young man walking with his wife and stopped.

He pointed and said to Yangyang, "Do you see that aunty with the big tummy?"

Yangyang looked over.

Ignoring the stares of others, Qi Cheng squatted down and said to Yangyang, "When the time comes, a little baby will come out of her tummy, just like the tiny babies you’ve seen on TV, without even any teeth. Yunhuan gave birth to you just like that. When you were that small, she took care of you every day. Without her, you wouldn’t exist."

Yangyang looked at Qi Cheng, although he spoke seriously, Yangyang didn’t believe him. "My mom gave birth to me. Not her!"

In his eyes, Ji Yunhuan was a bad woman.

That’s what he thought ever since their first meeting.

Maybe, for a child, even if he couldn’t remember, deep down, he knew he was abandoned. That’s probably why he hated Ji Yunhuan so much!

-

Qi Cheng took Yangyang home. Ji Yunhuan was chatting with Wen Nuan in the living room. When Wen Nuan visited earlier, she brought a watermelon for her. They put it in the fridge, and it was the perfect treat for a hot afternoon.

Ji Yunhuan sat on the sofa, spooning the melon into her mouth.

Aunt Liu was also there, the three of them shared half a watermelon, and there was half left.

Qi Cheng walked in from outside with Yangyang. It was Yangyang’s first time here. Seeing Ji Yunhuan, he froze at the door and refused to take another step inside.

Ji Yunhuan looked at the child. She’d only seen him from a distance before. Now, seeing him again, she felt a little excited.

Wen Nuan watched from the side. The resemblance was so striking that she immediately recognized the child as Qi Cheng and Ji Yunhuan’s.

Seeing Yangyang standing at the door, refusing to move further, Qi Cheng helplessly looked at him. He realized that all he had said at the square earlier was in vain.

He was just a little kid who didn’t understand anything yet.

Ji Yunhuan smiled warmly at Yangyang, eager to make a good impression on her son. She didn’t dare repeat what happened last time.

She said to him, "Come in! You’re blocking the door. Your uncle can’t get in."

Last time at the Qi Family, she was forced to get used to Yangyang calling Qi Cheng ’uncle.’

"Uncle?" Wen Nuan, sitting beside them, was confused. Did this mean this boy wasn’t Qi Cheng’s child? Was he just a relative’s child?

Although she had heard from Ji Yunhuan that the child was with her second sister-in-law, she didn’t know that Yangyang called Qi Cheng ’uncle.’

Seeing Yangyang not move, Qi Cheng gave up on him and walked inside, leaving Yangyang at the door.

Ji Yunhuan put on her slippers and walked up to Yangyang. "Want some watermelon?"

Seeing her hand the watermelon to him, Yangyang quickly dodged and, failing to avoid it, hid his hands behind his back. "No."

Qi Cheng had told him so much, and he understood.

Was this woman his mother?

No!

No way!

He refused to believe this fact and felt even more hatred towards Ji Yunhuan.

He looked at her with deep resentment.

Seeing that forcing him was useless, Ji Yunhuan stood up, disappointed. Aunt Liu brought the watermelon to Yangyang and said, "Come on, young master. Have some watermelon. It’s so hot outside. You must be hot too, right?"

Yangyang had cried a lot and been out in the sun for a long time. He was already feeling hot and irritated. He disliked Qi Cheng and didn’t want to admit he was thirsty. But now, seeing the chilled watermelon in front of him, he took a big bite, leaving a deep imprint on the watermelon, looking adorably cute.

Watching this scene, Ji Yunhuan, even though she had prepared herself mentally, was almost brought to tears. She turned around, walked to the sofa, and sat down, expressionless.

"Yunhuan," Wen Nuan, who had been smiling earlier, stopped smiling, wanting to comfort her.

Being a mother herself, Wen Nuan deeply understood that feeling.

If Yangyang had rejected Aunt Liu too, Ji Yunhuan wouldn’t have felt so bad. It would only show that he disliked strangers, not her specifically.

But Yangyang could accept something from a complete stranger like Aunt Liu on their first meeting and yet so steadfastly refuse Ji Yunhuan.

As a mother, Ji Yunhuan didn’t cry simply because she usually wasn’t good at shedding tears.

Aunt Liu quickly coaxed Yangyang onto the sofa. When he took a bite of the watermelon, he spit out the seeds into Aunt Liu’s hand.
