Chapter 271: Chapter 271: Her Portrait_1

"Now it seems it isn’t too late, but back then, if you had been with that guy named Cheng, and he did that, I would have regretted it to death. I’ve regretted it these past days and didn’t dare mention it to you." Anyway, that incident made Wen Nuan feel very guilty. Wen Nuan thought she had almost harmed Ji Yunhuan by not investigating clearly.

Ji Yunhuan laughed: "It’s fine. Don’t think too much about it. That incident wasn’t entirely Mr. Cheng’s fault."

"You’re still speaking up for him now?"

"I... I’m just being reasonable." Speaking of it, Cheng Yu could also be considered a victim.

Thinking about it even now, Ji Yunhuan still felt a little guilty.

Especially due to meeting Qi Cheng, that domineering man.

After a while, the food Ji Yunhuan ordered arrived. She sat down and slowly savored the chef’s skills.

"How does it taste?"

"Not bad."

"Just not bad? Your Brother Zhou also said it’s not bad." Wen Nuan looked happy.

Ji Yunhuan smiled.

After eating, she helped Wen Nuan with some bookkeeping before going home.

"Ms. Ji, you’re back." Aunt Liu, who had returned this morning, welcomed her at home.

Ji Yunhuan nodded and walked in, "Yes."

"Mr. Qi has been waiting for you for a long time," Aunt Liu said.

Ji Yunhuan saw Qi Cheng sitting on the sofa, playing with his phone.

Seeing him gave Ji Yunhuan a headache. She knew he would come. He really planned to cling to her every day.

"Dinner is ready," Aunt Liu said beside her.

"No need. You all eat. I’ve already eaten." Ji Yunhuan headed upstairs. She had eaten with Li’s mother, so she couldn’t eat anymore now.

Qi Cheng’s gaze followed her, "With whom did you eat?"

"Does it matter to you?" She gave him a dismissive glance. Her feet were sore from wearing high heels all day.

Qi Cheng watched her move her feet, "Can’t you not wear high heels? It’s obviously exhausting, yet you still torture yourself. You women really don’t understand."

She knew he was concerned about her, but Ji Yunhuan didn’t want to be gentle with him and said, "Just like you. You know I’m not welcoming you, yet you show up here every day."

"I didn’t go out today," he said, sitting on the sofa.

Ji Yunhuan looked at him in disbelief, "Really? You just sat here foolishly all day?"

"Pretty much." Qi Cheng sat on the sofa, "I thought you’d come back soon. But you spent the whole day with that guy named Li."

It hadn’t been that long, but Ji Yunhuan didn’t explain, "Go ahead and eat. I’m tired and need to rest."

She went upstairs, entered her room, and sat at her desk, completely unaware that Qi Cheng’s words were just a test.

He had stayed home all day, thinking she had gone to work. In reality, had she been with Li Longtao all along?

Ji Yunhuan’s gaze fell on the desk, where there was a drawing of her.

So, he hadn’t gone out all day but had hidden at home drawing her?

She flipped through it and found several more drawings. Sometimes she was smiling, sometimes angry, her back view, lying down, brushing her teeth... By the last one, she felt her blood boiling. What the hell?

Where did he draw her clothes?

Looking at the bare figure, Ji Yunhuan anxiously went downstairs.

"Qi Cheng!"

Qi Cheng was sitting in the dining room, eating dinner alone, when he saw her coming down. She stood there, her cheeks flushed with anger, glaring at him, "You’re so shameless! How can you do such things in my house?"

"What did I do?" He still had that super annoying innocent look.

Seeing Aunt Liu curiously watching from the side, Ji Yunhuan bit her lip, unable to say a word.

She angrily glared at Qi Cheng, returned to her room, and slammed the door shut.

"Sir, isn’t my dinner good?" Aunt Liu asked worriedly, seeing Qi Cheng not eating much. She was afraid of being fired, as it was a rare high-paying job.

"No, it’s very good." Qi Cheng forced himself to eat some more. Halfway through, he seemed to recall something, and a hint of a smile crossed his eyes.

He abandoned his previous sad look, quickly finished his meal, and went upstairs.

The door wasn’t locked. He walked in, and something flew straight at him. It was a hard pen holder. He could have dodged it but didn’t.

The pen holder hit him right on the forehead. He stood there, looking at her. That expression...

Ji Yunhuan was full of anger. She had planned to angrily scold him, but seeing him looking at her like that, she couldn’t say a word.

The scene was reminiscent of before they broke up when no matter how angry and furious she got, he always remained soft like cotton.

She would always feel soft-hearted but had to find excuses to hate him, detest him, and only wanted to sever her feelings for him.

Qi Cheng picked up the pen holder from the floor, walked to her, and handed it to her, "If you’re still angry, you can throw it again."

Ji Yunhuan suddenly threw the pen holder elsewhere. Using too much force, it hit the wall. She didn’t know where it bounced to.

She sat in her chair, unable to say a word.

She felt he was really overboard.

Very overboard.

He could anger her, but with just one gesture, he could dissipate all her anger.

She turned into a person without principles in front of him.

"So, you’re mad about this drawing?" Qi Cheng stood behind her, his eyes on the desk.

Ji Yunhuan was stunned, looking at the table. In her anger, she had placed that drawing on top, intending to ask him about it. She reached out to take it, but he grabbed it first, "I drew it so well. Don’t ruin it."

His reminder made Ji Yunhuan regret not tearing it up earlier.

"Give it to me!" she said angrily.

"I drew it!" Being taller than her, he easily held the drawing above his head, out of her reach.

He looked up at the drawing, his tone and expression serious, "Hmm, I didn’t expect to draw such a thing today. I’m getting better and better. Looks just like the real thing..."

"You!" Ji Yunhuan was furious. He was still teasing her.

"Why are you so mad? Are you upset that I drew you ugly?" He pretended to be puzzled, looking at her.

Ji Yunhuan reached for it, "How can someone like you exist? You have no respect for me at all. Give it to me! Don’t make me angry!"

"What are you so nervous about? Is there any part of you I haven’t seen?" Qi Cheng looked at her, his eyes gentle.

Ji Yunhuan clenched her fists, "Are you giving it or not?"
