Chapter 260: Chapter 260 Overbearing Kiss (3)_1

Assistant Gao brought not only lunch but also a toothbrush and towel when he came over.

"Here, brush your teeth." He handed her the cup and toothbrush and provided her with a basin of water.

Ji Yunhuan said, "I still have my hands and feet."

He looked at her intently. "Just say it, brush or not brush? If not, just eat directly."

She was always clean; letting her eat without brushing her teeth was unbearable.

Ji Yunhuan had no choice but to take the cup, fill her mouth with water, brush her teeth, and spit the water back into the basin.

Such a simple moment reminded her inexplicably of when she stayed in the hospital after giving birth to Jingyang’s baby, and he took care of her meticulously.

Thinking of this brought a sudden sourness to her heart.

There was no going back.

She and he could never go back!

"We’re here. Get out of the car." The car had stopped at the Ji Family’s doorstep. Qi Cheng stood outside the car, looking at her.

Ji Yunhuan walked out, and he held her hand, looking at her.

Ji Yunhuan averted her gaze, not wanting to look at him. "Don’t worry about me. Just go back."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Alright then!" He got back in the car decisively and had the driver drive away.

Ji Yunhuan entered the yard alone to open the door, only to realize she hadn’t brought her keys.

Yesterday when she left, she went out wrapped in a bed sheet. The clothes she wore later were brought by Assistant Gao.

No wonder Qi Cheng left so easily; he probably knew she couldn’t get in, right?

Moreover, she didn’t even have her cell phone!

She was really frustrated.

After standing in front of the door for a few seconds, Ji Yunhuan walked out the door again. She could just call Sister Wen Nuan; she always lived alone and kept a spare key at her place.

Just as she reached the door, the car that had just left returned. Qi Cheng sat inside, looking at her. "Why are you still outside?"

"Give me the key!"

She really admired this man for being so childish.

"What key?" Qi Cheng pretended to be clueless, getting out of the car.

Ji Yunhuan glared at him.

He reached out and held her. "Alright! I’ll help you open the door."

"..." Ji Yunhuan let him hold her. His embrace was so warm.

After opening the door, Qi Cheng entered the house first. "I’ve had the place cleaned. Your house doesn’t have anything. Ji Yunhuan, do you ever eat at home?" The kitchen hadn’t been used for ages. It was empty.

Ji Yunhuan said, "I’m so busy with work. Where do I have time to cook? It’s much more convenient to eat out, and the food outside is better than mine."

Hearing this, Qi Cheng frowned, stopped, and looked at her as if there was something on her face.

Ji Yunhuan felt embarrassed. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I see such a grown person unable to take care of herself, always eating out, hardly eating well." He knew she wasn’t doing well without him, but he hadn’t expected it to be this bad. Her house had such few things.

Ji Yunhuan said, "Sometimes Sister Wen Nuan invites me to her place. I’m doing fine, no need to worry."

Ji Yunhuan sat down on the sofa, and Qi Cheng looked around her house. It was more pleasing to the eye after being cleaned.

A short while later, he came back, stood there, saw the family photo on the wall, and froze for a moment before looking away.

Ji Yunhuan was also stunned by his unconscious reaction.

Qi Cheng was already sitting in front of her.

He didn’t look at her, lost in thought, and the atmosphere was uncommonly awkward.

In no time, there was a knock on the door.

"Come in," Qi Cheng said.

It seemed he had finally recovered.

Assistant Gao opened the door and came in with an old housekeeper behind him. "Sir."

Qi Cheng looked at the housekeeper Assistant Gao had brought. "From now on, you will be working here."

Then he pointed to Ji Yunhuan. "Take good care of her. Make sure she eats and sleeps well every day. Follow her instructions except for what I emphasize."

Ji Yunhuan: "..."

She looked at Qi Cheng. "What do you mean?"

"No meaning, just hired someone to take care of you," he said calmly.

"Alright! I have no objection to you hiring a housekeeper." Given her current conditions, she could afford a housekeeper. She hadn’t hired one before because she felt it was unnecessary. Now that he hired one, she couldn’t refuse. But... "Why should my housekeeper listen to you?"

"Because I am your financial backer." He looked at her and said to Assistant Gao, "Take her around to get familiar."

Assistant Gao nodded and took the housekeeper to look around.

The housekeeper Qi Cheng hired wasn’t from the Qi Family; Ji Yunhuan could tell.

She looked at the self-assured Qi Cheng, speechless. "Why do you always involve yourself in my affairs? Qi Cheng, you’re overstepping."

"Since you are now my responsibility, you must take care of yourself."

Ji Yunhuan didn’t know what to say.

Assistant Gao and the housekeeper came downstairs, and he handed her phone to her. "Ms. Ji, your phone rang."

Ji Yunhuan took it quickly. She had disappeared for an entire day, and everyone must be worried sick.

Sure enough, Sister Wen Nuan called numerous times.

Ji Yunhuan hurriedly answered, "Sister Wen Nuan."

"You little brat, if you didn’t answer your phone soon, I was going to call the police." Luckily, she contacted her company in the morning and found out Ji Yunhuan had taken a sick leave, which kept her from calling the police.

Ji Yunhuan apologized, "I’m sorry for worrying you."

"I heard from your company you took a sick leave. I wanted to know which hospital you were in. Why didn’t you answer your phone?" Upon hearing she’s fine, Sister Wen Nuan finally relaxed.

"I forgot my phone. I’ve already returned from the hospital. I’m fine. Don’t worry."

"Then I’m coming over."

It seemed unstoppable.

After hanging up, Ji Yunhuan said to Qi Cheng, "You should leave. I don’t want her to see you when she gets here."

Qi Cheng looked at her deeply and complexly.

Ji Yunhuan knew forcing him wasn’t effective. She approached him, saying, "Please leave for now, okay? You can come back after she leaves."

Her voice was unusually tender, making Qi Cheng feel pampered. But thinking this way made him feel more aggrieved. "You only use this tone with me when you want to get rid of me."

"I don’t want to, but if I don’t, how will I coax you to leave?" Speaking so gently made her nauseous.

Her arm even broke out in goosebumps.

"..." Qi Cheng felt speechless at her retort.

However, he didn’t want to always force her.

"I’ll leave when she arrives."

"She said she’s coming. What if she sees you at the door?" Ji Yunhuan said, "Are you leaving or not? If you don’t, next time I won’t bother with you." She admired herself for mimicking the coquettish tone lovers use so well.
