Chapter 251: Chapter 251 You Are Quite Ordinary (4)_1

Ji Yunhuan looked at him with bravado, "The thing I regret most in my life is agreeing to marry you in that deal. I still regret it now. So, your tricks won’t work on me a second time. I will never go back to you. I’d rather sell myself cheap to other men! Oh, by the way, I think your suggestion is good. I should make the best use of my body. After all, you’ve already touched it. Letting other men touch it a few more times doesn’t matter."

She felt Qi Cheng was just humiliating her!

Therefore, she was not polite to him.

Qi Cheng’s eyes were like solidified frost. He let go of her hand, watching Ji Yunhuan walk away barefoot.

When she reached the door, he suddenly spoke, "Don’t you want to see your child?"

These words made Ji Yunhuan pause.

The anger in her heart disappeared instantly.

A fleeting image of the baby she saw in the mall that day flashed through her mind. That was her child.

Although she resolutely left back then, the truth was, in the past two years, not a day had gone by without her thinking of her child.

Seeing her hesitate and stop, Qi Cheng smirked, "I thought you would walk away without looking back like you did two years ago."

Ji Yunhuan clenched her fingers tightly, took a deep breath, and turned back to ask him, "Can you really let me see him?"

"Depends on how you behave."

Ji Yunhuan froze for a moment. How could she not know that by "behave," he meant being his mistress, sleeping with him.

Probably, there wasn’t anyone dumber than her in this world. She didn’t want to be Mrs. Qi, didn’t want her child, and now, for all this, she came to be his mistress?

Seeing her remain silent, Qi Cheng knew she had agreed.

Seeing her dazed in place, he said, "Pour me a cup of coffee."

Ji Yunhuan paused. The old Qi Cheng would never order her around.

He looked at her, "Pleasing your benefactor is what a good mistress should do. Standing there like that just gets in my way."

"I’m injured." She had difficulty even walking.

"When you were stubborn about leaving just now, didn’t you think about being injured?" He looked indifferently at her foot on the carpet, "Moreover, whether I feel sorry for you when you’re injured is my business."

His condescending attitude was full of humiliation toward her.

Ji Yunhuan bit her lip but still walked over to make him coffee.

She treaded barefoot on the carpet, her ankle tugging whenever she stood upright.

She endured the pain while handling everything by the bar, not even noticing Qi Cheng approaching behind her.

He reached out, taking over the task from her hand, "Moving as slow as a snail. Are you trying to please me or make me angry?"

Ji Yunhuan glanced at him, meeting his cold gaze. His brows slightly furrowed with disdain, and he said, "Don’t get in the way here."

Ji Yunhuan quickly stepped aside to a chair by the floor-to-ceiling window. She walked over and sat down. From here, she could see the entire city.

Because it was nighttime, the city lights shimmered like a sea of stars.

Before long, Qi Cheng came over with coffee, handing a cup to her. He sat down on the chair across from her, "Like the view here?"

"Why did you move here?" She couldn’t help but ask.

They hadn’t seen each other for two years, yet she wasn’t entirely uninterested in his affairs.

"I like it." His answer was simple and direct.

Ji Yunhuan smiled.

"What are you smiling at?" He looked into her eyes, those eyes he had almost forgotten over time but couldn’t.

Ji Yunhuan said, "Men who like heights fall into two categories."

"Really?"

She picked up the coffee and said calmly, "One is childish. The other is lonely."

"So, which do you think I am?"

Ji Yunhuan wanted to say childish, but looking at his gaze, she couldn’t say it.

"I don’t know."

The atmosphere became tense. The two remained silent, quietly drinking their coffee.

Until Ji Yunhuan’s phone rang...

She stood up, walking over to the table where her phone was placed. Assistant Gao had brought her bag and phone in and left them there.

It was Lin Zheng calling to check on her.

After Tang Yin got back, he released the three people who had come with her.

Needless to say, power was really effective.

If it were someone else, Tang Yin wouldn’t have been so dismissive.

However, seeing Qi Cheng standing there, she thought to herself that it was his power that had ruined her family. She couldn’t let go of the deep-seated hatred in her heart for him.

-

In the morning, Ji Yunhuan was awakened by her phone alarm, opening her eyes.

It was time for work again. It was midwinter. Getting up early every day was the most painful thing.

She donned her pajamas to wash up. The cold toothpaste almost made her want to cry.

She looked at herself in the mirror, having dark circles from staying up late the previous night.

Due to the busy holiday period, the company was extremely hectic, leaving her with no time to rest.

If Li Longtao were around, these troublesome things wouldn’t fall on her. But now, Li Longtao was in the hospital.

After washing up, she came out, picked an outfit, and changed into it. It was still a black business suit, with a black trench coat over it because of the cold.

The phone on the table vibrated. She walked over and picked it up, biting her lip when she saw the caller ID.

It was Qi Cheng.

She had stayed at his place that night, and he hadn’t touched her, saying he couldn’t bring himself to see her in such a pathetic state.

Indeed, she had been quite miserable that day.

Injured, encountered her ex-husband whom she had abandoned but was now forced to be his mistress.

She smiled wryly. It seemed as if she had never not been miserable since leaving him.

The next morning, Qi Cheng had someone send her back. For an entire week, he hadn’t shown up or called her.

Now, looking at the number on her phone, she knew it was him because his number had never changed.

She spaced out for a moment, then accidentally hit the red button, seeing the call end. She realized she had made a mistake—she had actually hung up on him.

The phone rang again shortly, and the man’s voice sounded displeased, "You actually hung up on me! Huh?"

"I pressed the wrong button," she explained.

"If you don’t want to see me, you can just say so."

"I didn’t." Ji Yunhuan looked at the time, clutching her phone as she walked out.

Qi Cheng ignored her explanation, "If this happens again, I won’t forgive you."

Ji Yunhuan sighed helplessly. She felt like an aggrieved little wife, "Yes."

"Come over and have dinner with me tonight."

"But I have work tonight. I need to entertain clients."
