"Yunhuan, what do you think?" Wen Nuan asked, stepping out of the fitting room in the shopping mall and admiring herself in the mirror.

Her voice pulled Ji Yunhuan back from her thoughts.

Ji Yunhuan nodded and smiled. "It looks good. It suits you."

"Then I’ll buy it."

"Okay."

While Wen Nuan was paying with her card, Ji Yunhuan stood beside her, waiting. Amid the crowd, a sweet child’s voice called out, "Mommy."

She paused and looked towards the crowd, spotting a little boy being held by a middle-aged woman.

The boy’s small face was delicate. He seemed to be about two years old.

Seeing him, Ji Yunhuan felt an aching pain in her chest. Every time she saw other people’s children lately, she couldn’t help but think, if it were her baby, he’d be this big now.
