Chapter 242 Setting Her Up (5)_1

Chapter 242: Chapter 242 Setting Her Up (5)_1

"Up until now, except for Big Brother, no one else has been able to endure the medicine." Qi Ling said from the side.

He thought that Grandfather was doing this for Qi Cheng’s good.

If it were any other woman, Grandfather would have kicked her out long ago! Wasn’t it because Qi Cheng cared too much about Ji Yunhuan?

"Where’s the antidote?" Qi Cheng looked at her on the bed. He had never seen Ji Yunhuan this disheveled before. Of course, he might have—when she was giving birth.

Thinking about it, a deep sense of guilt welled up within him.

"Grandfather said, you have to wait until she agrees not to divorce you before giving her the antidote."

A month ago, in the hospital, she endured the pain of childbirth to give him a child.

A month later, here she was, also because of him...

Qi Cheng looked at Ji Yunhuan, feeling as if the pain she was enduring was killing him too.

"Antidote!" Qi Cheng’s cold expression made Qi Ling, who had grown up playing with him, a little afraid of him. "Brother, Grandfather is also doing this for your good. If you give her the antidote now, you won’t have this wife anymore. And your young master won’t have a mother."

Of course, Qi Cheng knew all this, but, "If you use this way to force her to stay, what’s the point?"

Besides, with her personality, even if she died, she wouldn’t compromise.

This medicine was just making her suffer pointlessly.

Seeing Qi Cheng’s appearance, Qi Ling was somewhat astonished. Qi Cheng’s attitude toward Ji Yunhuan had completely changed his understanding of Qi Cheng.

Qi Cheng sighed, made a phone call, and soon a professional came in to inject Ji Yunhuan with the medicine.

Qi Ling stood aside, watching Qi Cheng helplessly, "Grandfather is doing this for your good. Letting her go is your own decision. Don’t regret it! When the day comes that you’ve completely lost her, it will be too late for regrets!"

"I won’t regret it." Qi Cheng walked to the bedside, gazing at Ji Yunhuan. She had been in pain all night, and now her hair was a bit messy.

"You all leave." he said.

"Are you sick?" Qi Ling looked at Qi Cheng’s somewhat pale face. Moreover, Qi Cheng coughed once or twice as he spoke. Qi Ling was surprised and looked at him, "Sick and not resting at home, but coming all this way for her? You know perfectly well Grandfather wouldn’t really harm her!"

Qi Cheng’s voice was cold, "They already gave her medicine; isn’t that harming her?"

"The pain is just superficial, it won’t cause her any harm..."

"Get out." Qi Cheng said impatiently.

Qi Ling shook his head helplessly, "Brother, being merciful to others is being cruel to yourself! Why are you still so affectionate toward a woman who treats you like this?"

Qi Cheng said nothing, just looked at Ji Yunhuan.

None of this was anybody else’s fault, nor was it her fault.

Since the day he sought revenge for Su Molang, everything had been set into motion.

Even he hadn’t expected that one day, everything he did would become a trial in his life.

Since it was a trial, how could he easily change it?

Ji Yunhuan, who seemed to have been tormented in a blaze all night, finally felt some relief.

She had long lost consciousness amidst the intense pain.

She slowly opened her eyes and saw Qi Cheng sitting beside her.

For a moment, it was as if she had returned to the time when everything was fine between them.

But soon, she remembered their current situation.

"What are you doing here?" Ji Yunhuan asked. She tried to sit up, but Qi Cheng stopped her, "You should lie down!"

Her weak body caused her to fall back onto the bed. Qi Cheng’s voice was a bit hoarse, "Are you feeling better?"

"I don’t need your concern." Ji Yunhuan’s expression was still cold. She wasn’t thankful for his rescue. She even felt everything he did was just playing the good guy: "After all, getting to this point is my own doing, isn’t it? But even this way, I absolutely don’t want to be with you!"

"I know." Qi Cheng explained, "This was all Grandfather’s idea, not mine. I wouldn’t use this method to force you. Rest assured, nothing like this will ever happen again."

Ji Yunhuan was stunned for a moment.

She thought he would wait for her to compromise.

After all, didn’t he want to keep her by his side?

She had thought there was Qi Cheng’s plan behind this.

But now it seemed he had truly given up on her!

By the time she understood, Qi Cheng had already left.

Grandfather had returned. He knew Qi Cheng had been here all along and waited downstairs.

Seeing Qi Cheng, Grandfather didn’t give him a good look, "What are you here for?"

Qi Cheng didn’t sit down but stood aside looking at Grandfather, "I want to divorce Yunhuan."

Grandfather raised his eyebrows, his eyes cold, "Don’t joke with me!"

"I want to divorce her," Qi Cheng repeated, "So, please stop making things difficult for her. This is my own decision."

"If that were the case, you wouldn’t have married her initially! If you had no feelings for her, you wouldn’t have come here immediately! Since you have feelings, why separate?" Grandfather could see Qi Cheng was serious about Ji Yunhuan. Because of this, Grandfather used such a method to force Ji Yunhuan to stay.

Past mistakes couldn’t be undone. But they could still be together in the future, especially since they already had a child.

Qi Cheng’s face remained indifferent, "I’m tired of her. I’m not interested in her anymore."

"If that’s the reason, there’s even less need to divorce her. Keep her at home, and you can find any woman you want outside. I won’t interfere." Grandfather intentionally spoke that way.

Qi Cheng looked at Grandfather. He knew Grandfather was smart. How could he be fooled so easily?

He suddenly knelt down. Even Qi Ling, watching, couldn’t help but be stunned for a moment.

Qi Cheng said, "I want to divorce her. It’s all my responsibility. Grandfather, please stop making things difficult for her. Let her go!"

"Impossible. In the Qi Family, there’s no divorce, only widowhood. If she wants to leave, she can, unless she dies." Grandfather’s coldness was like ice.

"Then let me die. Return her freedom!" Qi Cheng swiftly reached for the fruit knife on the table. At this sight, Grandfather’s eyes turned green. Last year, at this time, the same thing happened before him. Only then, it was Big Brother kneeling, pleading him to let Ye Suya go.

Now Qi Cheng was doing the same?

The Housekeeper, Song Bo, standing by the side, swiftly and skillfully took the knife from Qi Cheng’s hand, "Young Master Sun, you can’t do this. Doing this will anger the Old Master to death, won’t it?"

Grandfather glared at Qi Cheng in fury. His words turned into a slight agitation, "Do you think using the same method as Han Ting will achieve your goal? Let me tell you, my patience is only once. The same method won’t work on me a second time!"
