Chapter 201: Chapter 201 He’s Too Protective of Her_1

That day, after being forcibly sent back by Qi Cheng, she had been cooped up in the hotel for days. While everyone else was enjoying the bustling New Year festivities, she could only watch the fireworks alone in the hotel, feeling lonely and isolated.

Those brilliant displays, that lively atmosphere, none of it belonged to her.

Her elder brother had gone out to work, and she had yet to receive any news. Bored, she came out for a walk and unexpectedly saw Leilei here.

Leilei sat next to Ji Yunhuan, her delicate little face almost unbearably cute.

Qi Mo resembled her older sister-in-law, but Leilei’s eyebrows and eyes looked more like her elder brother.

At the sight of her, Ye Suya would think of her own child and remember that she could no longer have children.

Leilei was earnestly drinking her beverage. Ji Yunhuan sat beside her, watching the bustling crowd outside.

Sometimes, even when sitting among the crowd like this, she would distinctly feel that she did not fit into this world.

"Auntie, I need to go to the bathroom."

"Okay, let’s go! I will take you." Ji Yunhuan stood up. She also needed to use the restroom, so she took Leilei and searched for one, finding it in no time.

She helped Leilei first, then opened a stall door for herself, saying to Leilei, "Stand here and wait for me."

"Okay."

But before she could finish, Leilei urged, "Auntie, I will wait for you outside."

"Hey!"

Ignoring Ji Yunhuan’s protest, Leilei ran outside.

She bumped right into Ye Suya at the door.

Upon seeing the bad woman, she snorted.

Ye Suya smiled gently at her, saying, "Didn’t you want my autograph last time? How about I give it to you now?"

Leilei had asked for her autograph the first time they met, and Ye Suya remembered it.

Leilei responded coldly, "Who wants your autograph? I don’t care. You’re a bad woman. You made my mom unhappy."

Ye Suya said, "Don’t be like that! I know I was wrong before, but now I have realized my mistakes. Don’t you want to see your dad? I can take you to him."

"Dad?" Leilei furrowed her brows. Could it be that her dad was with this woman again? "My dad is at work. He wouldn’t be with you."

"He asked me to get you. If you don’t want to go, then forget it." Ye Suya looked at Leilei regretfully. "But aren’t you afraid I might steal him away while you’re not with him?"

These words immediately made Leilei waver.

Ji Yunhuan finished up, washed her hands, and came outside but did not see Leilei. She quickly walked back to where they had been drinking and saw no sign of Leilei.

In just a moment, Leilei had disappeared?

She quickly called the servants downstairs, "It seems Leilei is missing."

The servants rushed up, and they searched the entire floor but found no trace of Leilei.

A nervous servant followed Ji Yunhuan, "Could she have gone downstairs by herself?"

"How could this little girl run off on her own?"

Ji Yunhuan told the servants to call the driver immediately, but the driver said Leilei was not with him either.

Bringing Leilei out for the first time, and something like this happened. Ji Yunhuan was terrified, breaking out in a cold sweat.

She first called Qi Cheng, then went to the mall’s information desk, but still could not find Leilei.

When Qi Cheng arrived, he had the mall sealed off and sent people to search.

Ji Yunhuan sat to the side, drenched in cold sweat.

Losing a child like this was something she never thought could happen before. She always made thorough plans for everything.

But now...

It seemed she had changed recently, becoming dull and slow. She had foolishly left Leilei alone outside.

Qi Cheng came over, seeing her pale face, knowing she was worried. "I have called the police and sent people to look for her. I have also informed the family. Leilei will be fine. In City A, no one would be bold enough to do anything."

Ye Suya took Leilei out of the mall and directly onto a shuttle bus specially for customers.

She put Leilei on the bus and said, "Wait here. Your dad will be here soon."

Leilei looked at her puzzled.

Ye Suya got off the bus, and it left without her returning.

This bus would take them out of the city.

Leilei sat on the bus, calm, not yet realizing she had been abandoned.

Next to her, a middle-aged woman with a little girl about Leilei’s age tried talking to Leilei now and then.

At their destination, everyone disembarked, and Leilei followed suit.

She realized she had gone too far, but she wasn’t worried.

The woman noticed her, "Where is your mom, little girl?"

"I don’t know."

Seeing her sweetness and worried she might be kidnapped, the woman said, "Why don’t you come with me to my house?"

Leilei looked at the new playmate and nodded, "Okay!"

She never had many friends and felt drawn to the little girl, thinking it might be fun to play together.

Filled with curiosity, she ventured to such a place alone for the first time.

And so, holding hands with the little girl, Leilei went to the strange woman’s house.

Qi Cheng took Ji Yunhuan back to the Qi Family. As they walked in, her elder sister-in-law, second sister-in-law, second brother, and their parents, who had just returned yesterday, were all there. Upon hearing Leilei was missing, everyone glared daggers at Ji Yunhuan.

"How did you lose her? A grown person can lose a child? We trusted you because you are family, but you’re worse than Xia Duo!" Xia Duo had taken Leilei out several times without any incident.

Thinking about this made Qi’s mother furious. She didn’t hold back her anger at Ji Yunhuan.

Ji Yunhuan sat on the sofa, feeling uncomfortable, worried about Leilei, and remained silent. Qi Cheng said beside her, "Mom, don’t scold Yunhuan. It’s my fault. I should have gone out with them."

"Don’t always take the blame for her! She is not a child. She is a married woman who should be responsible. Losing Leilei was her fault. If you protect her this time, what about in the future?" Qi’s mother gazed at silent Ji Yunhuan, increasingly infuriated. "I know you’re upset because your brother is gone, but life goes on. Qi Cheng spoils you every day, but have you cared about him? Have you done anything for him? Do you care about this family? Even if you are a princess, you can’t expect us all to revolve around you!"

"Mom, that’s enough."

Qi Cheng knew Ji Yunhuan had been absent-minded lately. Today’s incident might have been partly her fault. But at this moment, he didn’t want her to get hurt or scolded.

Qi’s mother couldn’t believe Qi Cheng’s raised voice. "You’re being rude to me? In all these years, have you ever treated me this way? Now, for this woman?"
