Chapter 194: Chapter 194: Unconditionally Spoiling Her (2)_1

"Call your eldest sister-in-law and ask when she’ll be back," she said to her second sister-in-law.

The second sister-in-law looked at her eldest brother. "Shouldn’t he make the call?"

At the mention of this, the eldest brother lost his temper. "Shouldn’t you ask your friend, Fang? Shi Xuan, you know what you’ve been doing behind my back. Don’t wait for the day I come to settle accounts with you."

"You still dare to be mean to me!" The second sister-in-law was somewhat afraid of the angry eldest brother and quickly went to make the call.

Unable to reach the eldest sister-in-law, she called Fang Zihuan. It turned out the eldest sister-in-law was indeed with him. "She drank some alcohol and is a bit disoriented. Should I bring her back?"

"No, I’ll go pick her up." It had been hard enough to get the family together. Letting the eldest brother see his wife with another man would ruin everything.

The second sister-in-law’s goal was merely to get the eldest brother’s attention, not to actually break up the couple.

She stood up and said, "Yunhuan, you stay here for a while. I’ll step out."

"Okay."

"Be careful," said Qi Mo’s mother.

After the second sister-in-law left, the eldest brother went upstairs back to his room.

Qi Mo’s mother looked at Ji Yunhuan with great dissatisfaction regarding her current situation. "If a woman doesn’t know how to take care of herself, how can she take care of her husband?"

Ji Yunhuan lowered her head without saying a word.

She couldn’t bring herself to say that she would treat Qi Cheng well in the future.

Qi Cheng, sitting next to her, had been worried she might be affected by Xia Duo’s words.

Hearing his mother scold her, he instinctively defended her. "Mom, stop it."

"I say this for her own good. If she can’t even take care of herself, how is she supposed to have children? She’s not a little girl; she’s almost a mother-to-be."

Qi Cheng glanced at the silent Ji Yunhuan. Knowing she didn’t want to have children so soon, and thinking of the second sister-in-law, he was inexplicably worried she might become like her. Therefore, he didn’t want to pressure her and said, "I don’t want kids that soon."

In truth, he was already desperate for children.

He felt nothing could solidify their relationship more than a child.

"It’s foolish not to have children after marriage," Qi Mo’s mother disagreed.

"I just want to enjoy the time as a couple; is that so wrong?" Qi Cheng said matter-of-factly.

Qi Mo’s mother’s gaze fell on Ji Yunhuan. "It’s you who doesn’t want kids, right?"

Before Ji Yunhuan could speak, Qi Cheng had already replied, "Mom, if you have something to say, say it to me. Don’t always talk to my wife! If you want to scold, scold your son, not her."

"Ah, look how much you cherish your wife! I just want the best for you both," Qi Mo’s mother said helplessly. "Or, do you want your wife to stay thin forever?"

"I’ll work on that, I’ll make sure to fatten her up," Qi Cheng promised.

His gaze was filled with tenderness as he looked at Ji Yunhuan.

As Qi Cheng’s mother, she couldn’t help but feel entranced by the sight.

"Qi Cheng, I used to worry you wouldn’t cherish your wife after marriage, but now it seems you’re deeply infatuated."

Ji Yunhuan couldn’t resist glancing at Qi Cheng.

She realized he had truly been treating her well lately.

Qi Cheng said, "I only have one wife. If I don’t cherish her, who will?"

"Yes, yes. At this rate, I won’t even be able to say a word to your wife in the future."

"When she does something wrong, I’ll tell her myself."

The implication was that his mother needn’t worry.

"So, now you think I’m meddling?" Qi Mo’s mother said helplessly.

"..."

Qi Cheng didn’t respond but didn’t deny it either.

Watching them, Qi Mo’s mother suddenly recalled some past events. "Your elder brother used to pamper his wife like this too. He never told me anything, just hoped you wouldn’t follow their path."

"You’re becoming more and more tactless with age."

Feeling slighted, Qi Mo’s mother stood up. "I’ll go check when your father is coming back."

Qi Cheng and Ji Yunhuan were still sitting on the couch. He looked at Ji Yunhuan and said, "Don’t take Xia Duo’s words to heart."

He was very afraid she might take Xia Duo’s words to heart.

Mentioning Xia Duo made Ji Yunhuan uncomfortable. "That only proves your charm. She’s still obsessed with you."

If she didn’t like Qi Cheng, Xia Duo wouldn’t be targeting her so single-mindedly.

"Are you jealous?" Qi Cheng put one hand behind her, wrapping his arm around her waist. Though they sat on the couch, they were very close.

Ji Yunhuan replied calmly, "I don’t have the energy for that."

"I wish you were jealous."

She finally glanced at him with those words. "Nonsense."

Qi Cheng looked at her tenderly. "That woman, Xia Duo, should be dealt with. Let’s see if she dares to speak nonsense next time."

Ji Yunhuan looked at him. "Maybe she’s right. Aren’t you afraid to be with me?"

"Afraid of what? Death?" Qi Cheng gazed at her and couldn’t help but laugh. "Are you foolish? I’m not afraid of dying; I’ve already died for you once."

Hearing this, Ji Yunhuan felt a sting of pain. "Then you should be even more afraid."

"Her nonsense doesn’t concern me," Qi Cheng said. "Her words can’t make me care. Moreover, I’m willing to live for you and die for you."

Leilei walked in, chewing bubble gum and blowing bubbles, followed by her brother Qi Mo.

Seeing the two children, Ji Yunhuan quickly tried to push Qi Cheng away, hoping he’d act properly in front of them. But he held her hand tightly. "Huh?"

"What?"

"Aren’t you going to reply to me?" His serious demeanor almost made her faint.

Who insists on a reply after saying sweet nothings?

Looking at Qi Cheng, she was thinking about how to respond when she heard the usually reticent Qi Mo say seriously to his sister Leilei, "Her nonsense doesn’t concern me. Moreover, I’m willing to live for you and die for you."

His tone was so identical to Qi Cheng’s.

Ji Yunhuan was struck, suppressing the urge to laugh at the serious look on Qi Mo’s face.

This kid was hilarious!

Qi Cheng’s eyebrow twitched as he looked over, unable to stay calm.

"Qi Mo, come here. Let’s talk seriously," Qi Cheng said with a serious expression.

Qi Mo glanced at him coolly and sat on the farthest couch. "I won’t bother you. Carry on, carry on..."

Inside, Qi Cheng was breaking down. With one interruption, their romantic scene turned into a comedy.

He tried to calm himself. After all, kids...

He absolutely couldn’t lose his temper with them.

Then he heard Qi Mo speak again. "But, uncle, your sweet-talk is so outdated."

"Come here. I want to see how the kids at your school sweet-talk. Come here!" Qi Cheng stood up and walked toward him.

Seeing him approach, Qi Mo quickly retreated but was still caught and pinned on the couch for a smacking.
