Chapter 189: Chapter 189: Don’t Like Beautiful Women_1

Qi Chen had been gone for a month, and Ji Yunhuan had not seen Leilei. Looking at the lively and adorable little girl was the only way to feel the charm of life.

Leilei had already walked up to her, carefully scrutinizing her.

"What are you looking at me for?" Ji Yunhuan cupped her little face with her hands.

"Aunt said you were sick. I want to see if you’re better."

"Sick?" How was she sick? She was just in a bad mood.

But, maybe saying she was sick was more convincing to others.

She held Leilei’s hand, "Do you think Auntie is better?"

"You’ve lost weight," Leilei said, glancing at Qi Cheng, "Didn’t Uncle make you eat?"

"I made her eat; she just didn’t want to. I’m not to blame. Leilei, you must keep an eye on her later and make sure she eats more," Qi Cheng seized the opportunity to speak.

They entered the house where a teenager was sitting in the living room. He was fourteen years old but almost as tall as an adult.

He was as tall as Ji Yunhuan.

The Qi Family had good genes; the men were all tall. He would certainly grow taller.

"This is my brother. His name is Qi Mo," Leilei introduced him to Ji Yunhuan.

She knew it was the first time they had met.

Qi Mo glanced at Ji Yunhuan, lifting his eyebrows coldly.

"Why such an attitude towards Auntie?" Qi Cheng walked over and asked.

Among the men in this family, Qi Cheng was younger and closer in thought to Qi Mo. Thus, he had a better relationship with Qi Mo.

Qi Mo snorted, "I don’t like beautiful women."

His words left everyone stunned.

Qi Mo’s father walked in from another door and happened to hear his words. He frowned, "You’re becoming more and more outrageous. Haven’t you learned any manners? You’re a grown-up now."

"You don’t control me." His attitude towards his father seemed even more indifferent.

Especially at his age, a child was in a rebellious phase.

Qi Mo’s father frowned in anger.

Qi Mo did not even look at him. His attitude of excluding him was more severe than expected.

Qi Cheng saw his brother and asked, "Weren’t you going to work? How come you’re at home today?"

"Just came back this morning." His father glanced at Ji Yunhuan, "Is your sister-in-law okay?"

"Not bad."

His father said, "Mom and your second sister-in-law are getting a check-up next door. You can go see them."

"I’ll take you there," Leilei offered.

Ji Yunhuan was dragged next door.

Qi Mother and Sister-in-law were both there.

Upon seeing Ji Yunhuan, Qi Mother couldn’t help but pause, "Just how long has it been, and the child looks this thin?"

Ji Yunhuan looked at all the medical equipment in the room and the medical staff wearing uniforms. It made her feel nauseous.

She didn’t even answer Qi Mother’s question.

Qi Mother looked at her, "How can you be so impolite in such a short time?"

Second Sister-in-law hurried over, "Yunhuan, be nicer to Mom. I know you’re in a bad mood, but you..."

Before she could finish speaking, Ji Yunhuan’s body had already collapsed, scaring everyone present.

They quickly laid her down on the bed. When she woke up, she saw the doctor approaching and instinctively frowned, "Don’t touch me!"

Qi Cheng had already come in and was sitting next to her. Seeing her distressed face, he told the doctor, "Leave us for now."

She grabbed his hand, feeling immense psychological pain, "I don’t want to be here."

Seeing all that medical equipment reminded her of the day when Qi Chen had an accident in the hospital.

"I’ll take her upstairs to rest."

There was Qi Cheng’s room upstairs.

Qi Cheng carried her upstairs.

After laying her on the bed, he saw her unresponsive face, "Yunhuan."

He knew she was awake.

Her hand tightly gripped his, her brows furrowing deeply.

To this day, whenever she thought of the hospital or doctors, she would feel unbearable pain.

All of it was the root of her despair.

Qi Cheng knew she was ill.

He reached out to smooth her long hair, "You still hate Bai Liyan, don’t you? It’s not entirely his fault."

Ji Yunhuan opened her eyes, looking at Qi Cheng. She couldn’t help but chuckle, "I don’t want to hear any excuses or defenses. He holds blame!"

Even if it wasn’t legally his fault, she would never forgive Bai Liyan.

It was pure hatred, without reason!

"Bai Liyan has always been hardworking. If he could, if there was a chance, he would never have let such a thing happen. He did his best, Yunhuan. Be reasonable," Qi Cheng was also helpless. He had tried his best, but things had passed.

Bai Liyan had even quit the medical field because of this incident.

This topic still had not subsided until now.

"If one day I die, you can reason with me then!" Ji Yunhuan turned her face away, unwilling to engage with him.

Qi Cheng stood by, his eyes gradually cooling.

What should he say?

Ever since Qi Chen left, Ji Yunhuan had really become somewhat unreasonable.

Irritable!

Capricious.

One moment gentle, the next incredibly harsh.

She didn’t even seem to see him anymore.

It was as if without Qi Chen, she had no constraints. She would never pamper or accommodate him like before.

Although he had always pampered her, there were times when he felt powerless.

He simply didn’t know how to make her return to her old self, to the rational, confident, indifferent, but also proud Ji Yunhuan.

The current her was utterly decadent.

Second Sister-in-law knocked and came in, "How’s Yunhuan? Is she okay?"

Qi Cheng stood up in frustration, "She’s fine, just needs some rest."

Second Sister-in-law looked worriedly at the bed, "It seems she still can’t get over it! Qi Cheng, spend more time with her, comfort her more."

"I know," Qi Cheng said, "I’m sorry for the trouble."

"It’s nothing. Sigh..." Second Sister-in-law sighed and left.

Downstairs, Qi Mother and Sister-in-law were still shaken by Ji Yunhuan’s condition and all sat in the living room.

Seeing Second Sister-in-law come down, they asked, "How is she?"

"Qi Cheng says she’s fine, probably just can’t get over the surgery failure of her brother," Second Sister-in-law sat down, "This child is really sentimental and loyal."

"But she can’t go on like this! If everyone acted like her, then nobody in this world would continue living," Qi Mother looked quite displeased. The rare family gathering had been disrupted by Ji Yunhuan, ruining everyone’s good mood.

Second Sister-in-law said, "Mom, there’s nothing we can do. She had only one relative."

"Then what about Qi Cheng? What about this family? Has anyone cared less for her?" Qi Mother sighed, "In a few days, it’ll be the festival. Your father and I have to leave; you handle things yourselves."

"Can’t you stay here for the festival?" Second Sister-in-law asked regretfully.

"Your grandfather called us over, and your father has social engagements. You all handle things at home." At this point, Qi Mother’s gaze turned to her eldest son.
