Chapter 187: Chapter 187 The Crazy Night (14 updates)_1

She had never even opened the DV they had recorded together.

In the eyes of others, Ji Yunhuan was already better. But in Qi Cheng’s eyes, not only was she not better, her condition was even worse than before.

She had just changed her way of venting and expressing herself.

After sending off his second sister-in-law, Qi Cheng returned to the room. He walked over and looked at the stack of thick books she had just finished reading in the past half day. The books were scattered there, and she hadn’t tidied them up. He walked over and stacked them one by one. "Did you finish all of these?"

After a while, she replied, "Mm-hmm."

Being able to get her response was a happy thing for Qi Cheng. He was very afraid that Ji Yunhuan would stop paying attention to him in the future.

He sat down beside her and looked at her. "You’ve been reading for so long. Take a break."

"It’s okay. I’ll be done soon."

"Then stop reading." Qi Cheng sat down in front of her and grabbed her hand.

Ji Yunhuan looked up at him. "What’s wrong?"

He gazed at her. "You haven’t looked at me for many days."

"Aren’t we together every day?" She knew he was always by her side.

"Even if you are beside me, you are thinking about other things. Yunhuan, you are sick. Very sick." Qi Cheng grabbed her hand. "Don’t be like this. I want you to return to how you were before, to how you were when Chenchen was still here..."

"I’m not sick." She looked at him and smiled lightly. "Besides, do you think we can go back?"

With Chenchen gone, how could they go back?

Qi Cheng reached out and held her in his arms. "You’ve changed, Ji Yunhuan. You’ve changed! Your eyes no longer have me in them. Am I so unimportant? I’m the one you love. I’m really afraid that one day you’ll wake up and forget me."

His words pierced Ji Yunhuan’s heart like a needle.

She stared at him in confusion. "Qi Cheng, I haven’t done anything to make you uneasy, have I?"

"You have."

"Where?"

"Right now." Qi Cheng tightly held her hand. "After Chenchen left, your soul was taken away by him."

Ji Yunhuan was held tightly by him and felt his strength. He looked at her and brushed her eyebrows with his hand. "Your eyes don’t have me in them."

"Qi Cheng..."

"Are you going to say again that you just want to be quiet, that you’re very tired? Did I disturb you again? He’s been gone for many days. When do you plan to look at me again?"

Ji Yunhuan didn’t speak. "I don’t know. I need time. I feel terrible right now. When I think of Chenchen, I can’t breathe. He was my brother. We shared the same blood. I watched him grow up. But he left me. He willfully left me alone in this world. I’m very tired! Qi Cheng, I even thought about dying with him..."

"Don’t you dare!" He coldly interrupted her. "You said he left you alone? What about me? What do I count as in your eyes? Your life was saved by me. If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t be alive now."

"So, I didn’t do anything foolish." Ji Yunhuan said, "Isn’t that enough?"

"It’s not enough."

"Then what do you want me to do?" She was a bit annoyed in her eyes.

"For me, forget those unhappy things."

"And you? Su Molang has been gone for so many years. Have you forgotten him? He was just your friend, but Chenchen was my family. Give me time, okay?" She finally closed the book in her hand.

Qi Cheng looked at her. "Do you know how heartless you are being? I treat you so well, and you don’t see me."

"I see you."

"Liar!" He lowered his head and kissed her eyes.

Ji Yunhuan didn’t push him away, just endured it.

But he felt like he was kissing a lifeless doll.

He let go of her and looked into her eyes.

"Why not continue?" She was calm like an outsider.

He released her. "Continue reading your book."

His heart was very sad.

But, there was no point in forcing her anymore.

When Qi Cheng returned to the room at night, he found Ji Yunhuan standing in front of the mirror. The electric toothbrush’s noise was constantly ringing. She stood motionless with the toothbrush in her mouth, in a daze.

He walked over and snatched it from her hand, as if catching a thief in the act. "Look at yourself now. If you continue like this, I’m going to be driven crazy by you."

Ji Yunhuan looked at him helplessly.

She took the toothbrush back and brushed her teeth seriously.

Qi Cheng glanced at her, shook his head, and turned to walk out the door.

When she came out, Qi Cheng was standing by the window, holding a glass of red wine. He was looking at the dark outside, lost in thought. She walked over and hugged him. "I’m sorry."

This was the first time she had comforted him in so many days.

Or maybe, she finally realized his emotions.

Qi Cheng also knew that she was not feeling well inside. But he didn’t want to see her indulging in her sadness all the time.

The pain of losing a loved one was something everyone experienced. But staying trapped in it for so long and not willing to come out of it made her one of the few.

He didn’t want to be ignored by her.

Now, this sudden hug made his emotions gradually dissipate.

The wine glass was thrown to the ground. He turned around and hugged her. "Yunhuan."

He was like a child who almost lost everything and then finally found it again.

Ji Yunhuan gradually realized that sometimes when Qi Cheng talked to her, her heart ached. She found that her emotions slowly shifted to him.

She found that her heart was starting to come alive again. He was the one injecting fresh blood into her.

She leaned in his arms, lifted her head, and kissed his lips...

He greedily took from her, finally saying, "You are mine!"

"You are mine!" She repeated his words nonsensically.

"Ji Yunhuan belongs to Qi Cheng." He looked at her, wanting to mold her entire being into his soul.

"Ji Yunhuan belongs to Qi Cheng... Ah!"

That night meant so much to Ji Yunhuan.
